I just made an account for each title, then used the Visa offer for free shipping + tax - came to $17.09 shipped for each single title I ordered. Not sure if this is useful, but hopefully it is.

Brent -

On the $40 MSRP titles, you should be paying $14.87 + tax with free ship.

Use one of the 7% Yes links on page 1, create a new account each time, and use U8K3U4A for 20% off.

I haven't tried it this way...just used AAA and membership. But using what you did, how much do the box sets come to:

Berlin Alexanderplatz
Cassavetes, Rohmer or Bergman box sets
Paul Robeson
Sam Fuller Eclipse

For members using AAA and membership, here is a stackable 10% off code: R3F8L4T (for one item)

Did Playtime ever come in the paper case, or always was a plastic case? I'm avoiding online purchases of early releases in hopes of finding plastic cases at the store. TIA!

Without looking those up, $70 box sets come to $26.19 + sales tax w/free ship. $40 titles come to $14.87 +......not sure about the $30 titles.

$70 box sets (before the 50% off?). Anyone purchase Berlin Alexanderplatz (which is $62)? Because if BA can be purchased for under $25, I'm going for it right now!

BuckNaked2k has provided you all the materials to go try it yourself. I just bought the Costa boxed set (MSRP $80) for about $30, so I believe Mr. Naked is correct!

Yes, I was quoting MSRP.

Here's the math for BA:

$125 MSRP * .5 = $62.49 * .9 (using Library Link) * .8 (using U8K3U4A) = $45 + tax w/free ship.

Is it just me, or does it seem a little shady to create new accounts for the 20% off new account code? Do they not care or is more of a "what they don't know won't hurt them"? It also seems like a pain in the ass to manage all those accounts. I mean if one were to do it again I'd have to remember the e-mail accounts I set it up with, etc...

Thanks. That's cheap! For AAA & Membership it comes to $50.61. The U8K3U4A new member 20% off code applies to all purchases right not one item?

No, it's just for one item. You can create new accounts if you want to use it again.

As to Numes' point on the shadiness of it, that's up to your conscience to decide.

Yes, look on the first page of the B&N Coupon Thread, you have to click on the spoiler buttons to see them. Most of the coupons are only for B&N Members (costs $25/year) but there is one 10% off coupon for non-members.

Did they just kill being able to use a coupon code with the Visa link? I was in the middle of making multiple orders, and I just got to one and it is no longer accepting it. Thanks for the Visa link tip, it got my totals down around $16 or so. I really hope they didn't kill it, I still have a few more I'd like to buy.

Welcome to the forum. That is a highly subjective question, dependent on your tastes.

Here is a good place to start:

Criterions on Blu-ray sorted by popularity

Edit: I would also suggest checking back here frequently during the sale. Members will post the titles they have acquired, and you can get a lot of good ideas that way. I know I bought a number of titles with which I had not previous been familiar, based solely on what other members had bought & posted during past sales.

Sorry to bug the forum again. Same question (I asked earlier about Playtime, which I was told only came in the plastic case): was Lola Montes ever released in blu-ray in the paper case? Or only the plastic?

The only BD digipak cases were The Third Man, The 400 Blows, The Last Metro, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Bottle Rocket, The Last Emperor, Chungking Express, El Norte and Last Year at Marienbad.

The BDs for The Leopard and By Brakhage: An Anthology, Volumes One and Two are available only in more traditional multi-disc digipaks.
