Still crap at mine and it doesn't look like they've refilled in a month.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
The Kennett location just got a shipment yesterday, but didn't put any new stock out. We'll probably see the new stuff in about 2-3 more weeks.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I'm hoping my BL restocked this week. I'm getting tired of picking through Bad News Bears and all the other titles I've been passing over for weeks now. I'm still hoping I'll find Chinatown Centennial one of these trips.
|
Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I got lucky yesterday and was able to pick up The Invisible Man for $4. The box was missing the pricing sticker so the cashier used a copy of Fear Factor to scan :D

There was a restock in Van Nuys of older titles. Red Dragon 2 disc, 6th day ... one I hadn't seen before, ...And Justice For All Special Edition (the new version)

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
My BL got a shipment in this morning and had 8 of those cardboard trays packed full of new titles. They also had a pallet still shrink-wrapped that the clerk said were more DVDs. Just wish the store wasn't cross town. Saw the 6th day and And Justice For All that hasslein mentioned. Each tray had three copies of each title. I picked up an assortment including The Cave, Anacondas - Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Roughnecks - Trackers, Master of Disguise and Wind Chill.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
The Big Lots in Carson, Ca took out the new pallets today there were 4 full new pallets (as well as an old one with all The bad news bears and others unwanted movies) This has been the biggest restock in the whole time i shopped at Big Lots (a lot of dvds we have already seen but a lot of them are new ones). All the pallets has different titles and there were so many my cart got full and i just picked up a few because i had so many in my cart that people tought i was crazy for buying so many lol...anywho here are a few titles i picked up all for $3:
Just to let people know they also brought out a pallet while i was searching for DVD's filled with Tales from the Crypt Seasons 1-5 they had like 8 copies of each and when i asked the lady when they got them in she said like 2 days ago. I was surprised to see these since i had missed them last summer so i guess most big lots will get another new pallet with tales from the crypt. the lady also said they had two new pallets in the back but they didnt have no room to put them out (I wonder if they may be the Looney Tunes, Flinstones and etc.Seasons that also came out last year. Hopefully they are...i can't wait to see lol) anywho so the Dvd's listed below are like from two pallets i didnt even get to see the others ones becuase i had so many but i plan to make another trip 2morrow to browse the other two pallets. Love & Basketball (Movie & Music Edition) Moeyo Ken: The Complete Series Josie & The Pussycats Buried Alive Harold & The purple Crayon The Complete Series Booty Call: The Bootiest Edition The Master of Disguise The Medallion Hellion The devils playground The dukes of Hazzard: The Begginning The Craft/Wild Things Double Feature The Relic Big Daddy Kicking & Screaming The 6th Day Whipped Casshern Deep Blue Sea The New Guy Director's Cut Spice World Walk Hard The Dewey Cox Story So I marries an Axe Murderer Special Edition (With Slipcase) Stranger Than Fiction Nurse Betty Impulse Wicked Wind Chill Spider-Man 2.1 (Already had Spider-man 2 but decided to get 2.1 for $3 lol) Dragon Wars Blood Work Half Past Dead Half Past Dead 2 Vertical Limit The Best of Ripley's believe it or not I Still Know what you did last Summer Tales from the Crypt Seasons 1-5 (They also had season six but it was opened and a disc was missing so i pasted) Fear Factor Season 1 ($4) |

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Apparently there's some large batch (pallet size) already arriving that stores are being told to hold for an add with sale pricing starting on 4/24/10. i have no clue what the titles/labels are.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I too have a store with boxed up pallets on the floor. I asked the cashier if she knew when they'd open them up and she said she didn't know but maybe tomorrow because they are having a sale. I asked her what type of sale but she said a typical sale... Obviously, she had no idea when they'd be opened up.
However, I did pick up two titles (probably already mentioned) Grosse Pointe (finally found a copy of this) - 3 Truth or Consequences, NM - an awesome movie, btw. - 3 |
Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Saw the same TV box sets (Magnum, Coach, Invisible Man, & Simon/Simon) at one LA store, and a few new trays of mixed item restocks - new to me:
Fame (the classic) Good Night and Good Luck Nurse Betty Comedy 3 packs for $3 (Father's Day, Forget Paris. My Giant) & (Mickey Blue Eyes, Singles, Home Fries) Heathlcliff cartoons... |
Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I didn't find the Tales from the Crypt sets I was looking for but I did find a few new titles today:
Little Shop of Horrors: 1960 version with colorized and B/W versions Double feature of The Killer Shrews and The Giant Gila Monsters: Colorized and B/W versions...gotta love these bad horror flicks. I also picked up this collection called Sci-Fi Serials. At $8 it's more than I usually like to pay at BL but it's 72 episodes on 6 discs and appears to be OOP. They are selling for around $19 at the Amazon Marketplace. http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Class...1452379&sr=8-1 |

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Ended up going to 2 stores & spoke with a 3rd (the one that told me they weren't allowed to put the dvd's out until 4/24.). Of the other 2, there appear to be 2 batches, "Mother's Day Univ(ersal)" & "Pre pack Pallet". The Mother's day selection is crap (imo). Strongest titles were Peter Pan, Witches of Eastwick, Singles 3 movie & Father's Day 3 movie. That was the best of it, & i saw that batch at 2 stores, & at 1 I was there when they opened it.
The "pallet" selection is quite a bit better, but for those who've been doing BL for awhile, all the better stuff was restocks: 2 Jakes, Sunset Blvd 2 disc, Groundhog Day, lots of Hammer horror remakes, Warner Karloff/Lewton 2 fer's, lots of 3 Stooges, Bela's Return Of The Vampire, Funny Face, etc. Most all of the stuff I hadn't seen before was pretty obscure (at least to me). One new title was that old favorite, Bedtime For Bonzo........ Also not sure if I'd seen Men in Black 2 at BL before. The one "pallet" I saw was a LITTLE picked through, so i may have missed a few titles. 1 manager told me definitely no Tales From The Crypt, I didn't get the chance to ask the other 2. |

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Finally, something other than the $5 titles or the overdose of Bad News Bears that have been lingering for what seems like forever. The West Bridgewater Mass. store had a new display with some stuff that we've seen before like Click, Half Past Dead, Being Julia, Hideaway, Wicked and others. But here's some that I don't remember seeing before, all at $3 each...
15 to Life Afro Samurai Resurrection The Beatles Explosion (documentary) Desperate Characters Dracula's Daughter/ Son of Dracula (double feature) The Foreigner Framed High School High The Kingmaker The Master of Disguise My Big Fat Greek Life (entire tv series) My Man Godfrey No Way Back The One and Only The Optimists Phantom Planet The Pied Piper National Lampoon's Pucked Rifftrax-Night of the Living Dead Screamers: The Hunting The Shepherd: Border Patrol Sleuth (not $6 used that has been around recently, but $3 new) Strictly Sinatra Watermelon Man When Did You Last See Your Father ? ZPG: Zero Population Growth |
Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Out here as well... Nothing tickled my fancy. + a lot of restock on the same titles that have been available. But, it is there. :)
Or here. Or there. Oh! Vantage Point... The 2 disc. If you have the 1 disc, don't bother -> as far as I can tell... Disc 2 is a digital copy. Correct me if I'm wrong but the special features look identical, minus the digital cozzzzzzzzzzzz |
Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Went back to the store in Carson. Ca to get another copy of tales from the crypt Season 1 and they were all sold out! i couldnt believe from one day to another they are all gone. I asked the cashier if they would get another tray with tales from the crypt and she said maybe but she didn't think so. She also mentioned that there were more pallets in the back (the same thing the other lady told me yesterday) but that they werent allowed to take them out till there new ad for Sat 4/24 comes out, which she said that it was a Pre-Mother's Day ad. she said that she thinks (but doesnt guarantee) that they will be 4 for $10 again...so hopefully she's right. I guess we will find out next week

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Awesome new finds.
If I can find it; I'll be picking up "Kabluey", "Hexed", "Baghead", "Screamers: The Hunting", "Phantom Planet" and maybe "High School High". I do recommend, "The Love God". I bought my copy from D2 some years back after hearing a song from an internet album. A concept album called, Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka, music inspired by music in pornos. The track is called "The Love God" by Martinibomb. At the time I wasn't aware it came from an actual movie - the dialog. The tune is the court room scene where the prosecutor is making his case against Knotts - set to a nice beat... Look into his eyes, they're the eyes of a man obesssed by sex. Eyes that mock our sacred institutions. Bedroom eyes they call them in a bygone day. They're the eyes of a man who's lust know no bounds, who lives, but for corrupting others to a life of carnal pleasures and lewd designs. A man who's erotic desires and flippant practices are used to titillate the unsuspecting. And would stoop to any depth to satisfy his pornographic tastes. The Marquis de Sade would regard him as a peer. |

Stopped by the West Bridgewater store, picked up:

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
For those that live in Orlando, store #00524 ( 1880 Semoran BL - Century Plaza ) has a new shipment.
There are cardboard bins on pallets, and next to it, is a four sided rack ( which has one side that is about 75 percent empty ), and there's a much smaller cardboard bin on the other side of the four sided rack ( it's about 50 percent empty ). Saw some titles I've never seen at BigLots before ( a few had stickers that said "First time on DVD" ). They had one "Invisible Man" ( season one ) box, four season two sets of "Coach" and about four "Grosse Pointe" ( complete series ) boxes. I also saw about four copies of "The Two Jakes" and many other titles that I can not remember. I finally found "Red Rock West" ( Nicolas Cage, Dennis Hopper and Lara Flynn Boyle ) WIDEscreen & FULLscreen ( with 4 page color booklet inside ). I was VERY happy I found this. It's one of my favorites ( along with Dahl's "Kill Me Again" and "The Last Seduction". I also got the following: Assassin In Blue ( Sherilyn Fenn, Casper Van Dien ) WIDEscreen - Rated R - Just the fact Ms. Fenn has a starring role was enough for me to get it. Phantom Planet ( Dean Fredericks, Coleen Gray ) FULLscreen - Not rated - says color AND black & white versions of the film. Zero Population Growth ( Oliver Reed, Geraldine Chaplin ) WIDEscreen - Rated PG Sphere ( Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone ) WIDEscreen - Rated PG13 Screamers: The Haunting ( Gina Holden, Lance Henriksen ) WIDEscreen - Rated R - I loved the first "Screamers" ( with Jennifer Rubin & the "RoboCop" actor - can't remember his name ). I hope "Twin Peaks" ( Gold edition ) shows up some day soon. I know the odds are against it, but the odds were against any box sets being sold for three bucks to ten bucks. I did not find "The Temp" ( with pre-face-lifted Lara Flynn Boyle ). I'm in a hurry, so sorry for any spelling errors.... |
