Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I hate how amazon is doing this!

I don't like waiting for the deal to come at a certain time.

Has anyone notice how some movies are set up?

Notice 12am - 4am PST
• Monsters vs. Aliens [Blu-ray]

Who is going to be awake for this deal? Seriously?

I'm in Central Time which means I have to be awake at 2am!

You can always go to the stores and buy them...or, if you're lucky enough, buy the movie around the end of the timing period.

Wow. I got it. I never heard of it, did a bit of some light research, and thought it was cheap enough to pay $2. I'm sorry.

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I just wanted to point out that you don't have to rush and check out as soon as you've added a LD to your cart. I've noticed a lot of people are placing multiple small orders and some people complaining about the deals being spread out throughout the day. All you have to do is claim the item, then you have until midnight to check out. This may help those of you that are wanting free shipping, but don't have prime.

That's great except I can't even get the item in my cart at the sale price no matter how hard I try.

I'm not camped out in front of my computer and I got in on the Loony Tunes set. It's just a matter of good timing. Sometimes you get in on a lightning deal, sometimes you don't see the thread until two minutes after the deal ends.

Welcome to the Amazon Black Friday Sale. Apart from the fact that they're doing this all week instead of just Friday, this is how they always do it. Think of it as their way of recreating door-buster bargains online -- if you're a serious bargain hunter, you'll get great deals; if not, have some leftover turkey.

Meh, at least you know WHEN.

Just set an alarm if you really want it. Takes all of about 2 minutes to order. If you don't want to get up, then the price point isn't worth it to you anyway.

That's not exactly true, some people have to work so it's damn near impossible to get some of these deals. I'm hoping a family member helps me out with ordering that Fast & Furious BR on Wed....

This sale by Amazon sucks. Since I can't even get the sale price I'm not wasting time by being in front of the computer at the right time to find out I can't get the sale price.

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I did not want the Looney Tunes set, I put it in my cart when the sale started to see if the discount worked, I just looked and it was still in my cart for that price. I wonder how long you can "claim" an item? I deleted it out of my cart because I have no use for it, but I thought it was interesting that even when it was sold out my cart still showed the discount.

What is the problem exactly?

When you go here:

http://www.amazon.com/DVD-Blowouts/b...&node=12917411

You should have some arrows in the little box to scroll through if you don't already see Black Book listed as the default already. Look through there and it'll say $2, and click add to cart.

Is none of that there for you? I don't see how that's possible.

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I couldn't get the $7.99 Black Book lightning discount to fully apply. It only gave me a lightning discount of $7.05 somehow even though it did show the $2.00 special price in my cart. I had three other titles in my order to get free super saver shipping ($9.99, $6.99, $6.99). I also had a $10 promotional certificate that amazon had previously deposited into my account for a mixup that had occurred on a prior order. I think this $10 promotional certificate is somehow messing up the lightning discount.

Have you tried emailing or calling them? Most people are not having any problems.

The fsss actually takes the lightning deal item's original price. So, Black Books is originally 9.99. You could have gotten the free shipping w/ the other 9.99 item and just one of the 6.99 items.

I've had an order w/ a total less than $25 (bc of a lighting deal) that was eligible for fsss.

I actually did want all 4 titles (the 9.99 one, both $6.99 titles and Black Book), and wanted free shipping for all of them. So I put them all in one order. The free shipping is not the issue. It's that they somehow only gave me a $7.05 lightning discount on Black Book instead of $7.99. And my guess is that it has to do with another $10 promotional certificate I had in my account.

Read back in the thread. I ran into a similar issue involving a promo certificate and the Looney Tunes set. They definitely don't play well together.

So I'm trying to decide if I want the $9.99 Wolverine BD...

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

It took me about a minute using the old fashioned way of ordering (not 1-click), and I already got my confirmation email. Well, according to my counter, Wolverine BR was at 53% claimed 6 minutes into the deal. That's actually much better than I thought it would be fearing they would be all gone in 1 minute. Anyone who isn't able to order 1 item within 6 minutes is seriously lacking in coordination. Now hopefully the other deals through the rest of this week will survive at least 10 minutes like Wolverine. Now it's 61% claimed @ 10 minutes.

I don't suppose anyone has more info on the rest of the Smallville seasons... in particular S8? Hopefully tomorrow details will show up ahead of time.

Is The Marine worth ordering for $2? Never have seen or heard of it.
