You go to the Today's deals link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27
At the bottom, it shows your quick picks. The items listed changes daily and its based on your previous purchases and searches/views. I think you should be signed on also.

Except those times when they seemingly pick random items. I've never purchased anything but movies, games, CDs and maybe a book or two and my deals today are on ice cream makers, pots and pans and a deep fryer.

THANK YOU for that info. It's what I thought, but was not sure if I was looking at the right stuff.

Never thanked you for the WM 4.00 Centennial info as well. That location was a bit far for me, but thanks for taking the time to respond!

If you rate items you already have. By going to that items page and give a star rating under the I own this. It will help them give you better recommendations. I have been doing this lately and all my picks today we're all dvd's. 52 cents off Fargo, 75 cents off of Leon The Professional , and 57 cents off The Good Bad and Ugly are a few for today. Not alot but every lil helps I guess.

I got Iron Man and Smallville today anyway. I wish there was some way to thank that courageous UPS man who braved the light drizzle to get them to me.

I received 8 separate packages from Amazon today each with one Blu ray. What a ridiculous waste of packaging.

I had 6 packages today from Amazon all dvds. Another 2 from other stores. Took the UPS guy and the helper to make a total of 3 trips from the truck. If I do more holiday shopping online my UPS guy will look for $20 as a tip for Christmas.

I got 5 packages today all shipped from the same fulfillment center. Why don't they just package them together?

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I got 11 packages from Amazon today- 8 via UPS and 3 via USPS. Each package had one item.

I'm incredibly frustrated, though. One of the DS games we ordered for my niece was not received. In its place, alone in the mailer- was "Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs" dvd. Ummm, what? I immediately called Amazon, but the game is out of stock. Although a new order was placed with next day delivery, it most likely won't arrive until after Christmas. Which leaves me to find another gift or get the game elsewhere. Prime shipping was fast, but can't help if the warehouse picks the wrong item!

To expand on this, there is a way to get what you want to show up in your quick picks. Here are a few quick tips:

- Go to your account and "Improve Your Recommendations" (this is based on things you have bought) use the "Do Not use" option on items you don't want to be a deciding factor. Also go to "My Recommendations" and look what's there. Don't like something (say, an Ice Cream maker is showing up) select "fix my recommendation" and you can tell it to not recommend it again. You can do this all day long until you only have BDs, DVDs, games, etc. in there. Good to do while watching tv.

- This is probably the most important tip: If you want something specific in your gold box DO NOT have it in your wish list. If it's in your wish list it will NEVER show up in the Gold Box. Similarly, if you pre-order something it won't show up in your GB. So unless you get some killer pre-order deal, sometimes it's better to wait it out to show up in the gold box.

- Want something specific to show up? Go to that item's page and look at the section where it shows the "Buy these together" recommendations. Rate all the other items 5* and mark that you own them.

- lastly, stay on top of your recommendations. If you buy anything not related to your norm (say a CD), it's almost guaranteed that your next day's gold box will be mostly based on that last item bought.

None of this is fool proof but all of these combined GREATLY improves what shows up. I still get the occasional ice cream maker or cook book but on the whole I get mostly BDs and games in there daily.

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

I've put items in my cart and then edit them for "save for later." I'm always seeing those items and similiar as my quick picks.
