I know this is kind of OT, but the price on this dropped to $39.99 for Xbox 360 and they applied some random $10.00 promotional discount at checkout, bringing it to $29.99. I'm all over that.

It was weird how the prices slowly lowered themselves one at a time. I placed my main orders, but I'm still struggling with Wanted and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans BRs for $10 each. People have very mixed reviews... almost 50-50. Some say they have great action. Others say the action is so ridiculous it ruins the movie. I don't suppose anyone else can help me decide?

There are a ton of good movies on BR for under $10 (a lot of $7.99). The problem is I already have the SD of all the ones I want, so I'll still have to pass on those. I just got the main $10 ones (Braveheart + Gladiator because of the $10 rebates, Ice Age 3, and I Am Legend for $7.99).

Looks like they aren't disappearing fast like a lightning deal.

I guess that's why they don't call them "lightening deals." Get it? Hahahahahaha--ok. I'll stop.

* Resident Evil 5 is a LD NOW for $20, if anyone's interested.

* Mad Men S2 on BD is $20.49. Not as awesome as last year's $17 for S1, but not a kick in the head.

* Found Underworld Unrated BD for $7.99 and Coraline 2-disc BD/DVD combo is $14.99 for those trying to decide between which format to get: GET BOTH! (My g/f wanted the DVD for $5; I'll get this and we're both happy.)

It pays to poke around. I wish Dollhouse and Hottie Terminator S2 BD were cheaper. Want Fringe on BD, but not wanting to pay $28. Hmmm....

I picked up Orphan on DVD on Wednesday for $11.49 and now it's dropped to $8.99. And Amazon decided to ship the DVD just two hours ago (at 2:02 am and it's now 3:55 am). Any suggestions on what would be the best way to get the lower price?

They don't do refunds on difference it anymore. You can try calling and/or emailing and complain, but their policy regarding refunds if the price is lowered within 30 days is gone. You could always return it, however they will make you pay a couple bucks to return since it's your fault you want to return.

Same thing just happened to me the other day. It was only a $1 difference, not something I really want to pursue.

If Resident Evil 5 is (was) a lightning deal, it's gone already. I can't find any lightning deals now. Which system was it for?

Both PS3 and X360. At this moment, the PS3 is 97% claimed, but there are plenty of X360 left. Hit this link and switch the LD display to Video Games and it should show. I took the copy I had claimed out of my basket cuz I don't need it.

There are some sub-$20 Criterion BDs to be found. I've got Last Emperor and In the Realm of the Senses in my cart for $17 and $16 respectively.

Didn't see this mentioned yet, but Amazon currently (as of 6:45am EST) has all six seasons of Sex and the City available for $8.99/each. The wife wanted these for Christmas and these were cheaper than the big "complete series" box set (which had some bad reviews for packaging).

You can re-order it and refuse the first package when it arrives...

Got Braveheart, Gladiator, and Ice Age 3... Super deal on the first 2 considering the $10 upgrade rebates. That's a no brainer...
