Re: Criterion DVD's and Blu-Rays 50% off at Barnes and Noble 11/10

I am just trying one at a time from now on. I stopped at anothe BN and got White Dog for just over $9. I wanted Wings Of Desire but it was $50! is that correct?

I'll stop again tonight when I head north for my class.

Oh he almost wouldn't take the coupon for White Dog until I pointed out the fine print.

Re: Criterion DVD's and Blu-Rays 50% off at Barnes and Noble 11/10

I caved and put an order in:

First films of Samuel Fuller
Night and the City
Thieves Highway
The Wages Of Fear

$68.21 with tax, all these on Amazon right now would cost $148.46

Of course I did pay for a membership which brought my total to $93.21 ,but with the extra discounts and coupons they offer I think it's worth it and also the
fact that i will probably skip the Deep Discount sale I will probably head back for a few more before the end of the sale.

I also placed an order for Howard's End, Wings of Desire, and Bottle Rocket and will pick them up when they get in for $13 each as well. I think I'll peak at 10. My wallet's in pain

They were nicely stocked, but after last time nothing else jumped out at me.

I just picked up Wings of Desire BD for $13.89 including tax.

Damnit...was going to take part in this great deal by first buying a membership today.

Didn't read the fine print of the $5 off coupon - since I bought the membership today (or after 10/28/09), I cannot use the coupon.

Hope another sale/coupon combo comes around soon.

It can take several days to show up, and usually will not appear until after your order ships. I did an order Saturday at B&N.com and just received the credit to my Bing account today. Also Bing sends emails to let you know when the credit is deposited to your account.

Actually there are two different $5 coupons if you check the main page of the B&N coupon thread. Only the older one is posted on the first page of this thread. If you plan to use the printable coupon at a B&N store they probably will let you use both of them.

Re: Criterion DVD's and Blu-Rays 50% off at Barnes and Noble 11/10

Just bought these DVDs online:

Lady Vanishes
Trafic
Eyes Without a Face

Trafic is a Christmas gift for my father-in-law who loves foreign cars and crazy French films. I think he'll like it.

I don't have a membership, but with 10% AAA plus a 20% new member code, the total came to $50 shipped. Would have cost $95 at Amazon. Plus a few tax dollars go to the struggling state of CA with BN.

What's the new member code? For the AAA discount, do I need to log in from AAA or is there a place at check-out to have that applied? Is the AAA good in-store as well? --Peter

Got the Rossellini History Films Eclipse set on line for $23.31 shipped

I didn't get anything in the last sale because i was broke and the membership is really what made the deals amazing...i got the membership last week in anticipation and in one purchase I added $8 to the savings. 2 or 3 more and it's paid for itself! (and i intend to buy more than that!) If they do this even once more in the next 11 months then it's been well worth it. the people buying a membership just to cancel are fools if you ask me.

You need to go get registered at AAA's site then go through one of their links for membership discounts.

I just did this to order Wings Of Desire at a more reasonable price and I guess it doesn't apply on top of the member card 10% discount. Might just return the membership, no reason to have it since I have AAA I guess.

No AAA's 10% and B&N's 10% membership discounts do not combine. If you have a B&N membership there is really no reason to go through AAA link for the purchase. You could have gone through Bing to get 12% cashback along with the 10% B&N member discount, and or any coupon discount since they all stack. Also if you have a B&N membership there is a larger selection of coupons to choose from since you are able to use both member and non-member coupons that are available.

w/ all the other discounts available, you shouldn't pay anything close to 50% off msrp in this sale...that's why it is so awesome. this is BETTER than BOGO...getting $59.95 msrp sets for $21 is far better than BOGO - where those sets are $50-55 to begin with.

why does someone here always have to figure out a way to complain about a sale?

Did the first order - through the Discover card site, which unlike AAA should give 10% back separately from B&N. Wings of Desire, In The Realm of the Senses, The Empire of Passion, and The Last Days of Disco. Will check out the local store later today.

Re: Criterion DVD's and Blu-Rays 50% off at Barnes and Noble 11/10

I used to be able to use the AAA link in the past, but I notice it has changed now and is a California log-in page. It will not accept my username and password. When I log in at the Hawaii AAA, there is no discount for B&N.

Can someone help me with this? Are others able to use the California AAA link (in first post of B&N coupon thread) even if they don't live in California?

*edit* It finally worked after about 8 log-in attempts through AAA Hawaii. Very glitchy or something.

I got the Olivier Shakespeare set online using AAA discount and new member 20% = $31.02 total. I figure I'll wait until they straighten out the online site for Blu-Rays...or just hit a local store tomorrow and see what's left on the shelves. --Peter

In store let me use the coupon twice on one visit: Pierre le Fou (blu) and Human Condition for $47. Pretty great deal.
