Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure the only release of Rollercoaster is letterboxed but not anamorphic. Love the movie though, will be on the lookout for it at BL.

rollercoaster is non-anamorphic. 2.35:1 WS.

Dang, the Gold Diggers of 1933 I just picked up is listed as $38+ on amazon.

Gold Digger is part of the Busby Berkely Boxset. Somebody would have to be stupid to pay that when they can get the whole set for less.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

In addition to titles previously mentioned, I found the following in Austin (Spicewood Springs Rd):

Altered States (also at Half Priced Books for ~5) [softcase]
Deadly Friend (Wes Craven)
A Stranger is Watching (seen previously unslashed but not this time)
Return to House on Haunted Hill ["Unrated"]
Before Sunrise
Son of Kong
Eraser [softcase]
4 Film Favorites - Flipper/Dumas/?/? (all animal themed kid's movies)
Tequila Sunrise/Conspiracy Theory
Van Damme 2fer (Blood Sport and I think Time Cop)
Innocent Blood [softcase]
Valentine
Red Dragon [Director's Edition] (no barcode slash)
Shanghai Surprise ($2, no barcode slash)

All were Warner Brothers titles with slashed UPCs (bastards!) unless noted. All $3, but saw a few $2 listed previously.

Still searching for Resevoir Dogs 2-pack and Unbearable Lightness of Being (see trade forum).

Small quantity of Warner DVDs in Butler, PA. Out of the many I'm looking for, all I found was DEADLY FRIEND. There may have been 20 other titles, including some I hadn't seen mentioned yet, like a two film set of PURPLE RAIN and FAME.

If you want an anamorphic Rollercoaster DVD, you'll have to grab a R2 disc somewhere. eBay has a bunch.

Washington State alert: My understanding is that some (possibly all) Wa Big Lots stores were told to hold back the current Warner batch for Black Friday even though it's not in the add. So show up at 6am & lots of Warner may await you........

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Follow up on last night's post. Tacoma Wa: Pearl Street got the new Warner batch. Both Bridgeport & 72nd only got a small selection of the previewed junk. Hopefully the other stores will get the the Warners next week. Pearl only had a 2 tier display (I've seen this type of BL display run anywhere from 2-4 rows deep) & were missing a number of the reported titles.

Seems like BL should've saved those summer DVD sets that were such a steal for BF instead!

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Is the Julia Stiles film WICKED the new JOEY?

At Big Lots today, they had a new cardboard box of $3 DVD. I think 40% of them were copies of WICKED.

Not much new though.

I found a couple of different things this morning...in the Danville,IL store. I was thrilled to find "Rory O'Shea was here". I reccomend this as a blind buy...it's certainly worth $3.00.

Found Bump In The Night: Night Of The Living Bread for $2.00. I haven't thought about this show for years, I loved it as a kid.

When I left the store on Airport Blvd at 8:30 there were a few copies of Unbearable Lightness of Being in the cardboard stander in front. If you haul butt, you can get there before they close at 11:00!

Certain titles, yes, but I have seen $2 DVDs for some time now.

The PV and extra WB titles were rolled out here today... Not interested in $3 PV but I did find an Unbearable Lightness of Being SE with a minimal UPC slash (yes, I am that anal about my DVDs). Eastland in Lexington had 3 FULL displays and about a zillion grubby hands.

I was watching an episode of the sci-fi channel animated series "tripping the rift" recently, and they made fun of "joey" and I couldnt help thinking about these threads. one of the charactors was quoted as saying "this is about as bad as an episode of joey"

Man, wish my store would hurry up and get these in. I stopped by mine today and they just had a small display of PV titles and big restock of the last Sony batch. I buy DVDs from pawn shops a lot, so I don't mind pre-viewed stuff if it's priced accordingly. I rarely get anything damaged enough to affect play. I got:

New
Groundhog Day - Special Edition
The Sentinel
Ssssss

Pre-Viewed
Burn After Reading
Rambo
Tropic Thunder

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Still haven't found Sssss or I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Finally found Heroes (1977) now I have to redub the ending with the original Kansas song, instead of that crappy replacement song.

Also found today, the Afro Samurai box. Haven't opened it but its pretty heavy & looks really cool.
