Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I found the Black Friday DVDs out early. They are the previously viewed ones for 3.00. These seem to be in pretty good shape.

I got these:

X Files I want to Believe
Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
21
Beowulf Directors Cut
310 to Yuma
Forbidden Kingdom
88 Minutes
Juno
Quantum of Solace
Lakeview Terrace
Pineapple Express (unrated)
Changeling
Traitor
Taken
The Wrestler
Righteous Kill
War
W.
Australia
Max Payne Unrated
Zohan unrated

The ones that I opened so far have no rental stickers on them. Some have light scratches and some are flawless.

Sounds like a similar shipment to the ones I found last week. They had them out let a few of us grab some and then took them to the back again.

The only way I'll pay $3 for a PV movie is if it's a Criterion (or really rare).

I'm really disappointed in this.

At least they're doing the $10 off a future purchase if you spend $50. I'm disappointed with the used DVDs, would much rather have had new ones for $2.40. I think I'll pass on any PV'd DVDs but they at least have other things I may buy.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Another huge restock here at the Eastland location today... Mostly the same as the last batch prior to the WB slashed restock. Red Dragon, etc... That's 3 restocks at that store in two weeks. DVDs o' plenty...

Unfortunately, I only grabbed Class of 1984 since I already picked up everything that interested me the last time. Larger quantities on hand this time though... I spotted 9 copies of Grosse Pointe Complete. 6 copies of Class of 1984. Etc...

No new PV display or anything else of note...

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

These are the best quality used DVDs I've ever seen. I opened all of them and almost all of the discs look untouched. They must have gotten them from a rental place that gets no customers.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

fellow south florida dvd talkers, there was a big restock at the margate big lots that hasnt been too picked over yet, you might want to get there tomorrow. I hit the proverbial jackpot and found the 3 titles I have been looking for for weeks now -
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
Class of 1984
Grosse Point

was surprised to see that "class of 1984" is an anchor bay release, usually dont see anchor bays at big lots.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

When did Big Lots lower the price on Previously Viewed DVDs to $3? Is this a permanent price reduction or just for Black Friday?

All I know is that last time I looked a few weeks ago their PV DVDs were $6, and I just laugh at that price. For $3 I might buy a few of them.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

the 3.00 PV DVDs are a special shipment for black friday. On the receipt it says black friday DVDs. Who knows if they will be 3.00 in the future but hopefully they will. 6.00 is way too much.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Picked up at the Torrington, CT BL this week:

Class of 1984
Grosse Point
Touch of Evil
Whisper
The Fan
Stander
8MM 2
The Fan (w/digital copy)
Hero Wanted (w/digital copy)
Blind Date

They have the wire rack and a seperate box absolutely jam packed. The box was annoying, as it was single wide and stacked two on top of each other, so no way really to see what's in the middle of the first tier, and they had excess DVDs jammed on top of some of the rows you had to move to see most of the selection.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

$3 for Twilight is a good price, even if used. I watched someone buy it at FYE for $15.95 after I bought it for $6 at BL for the wife. Most of those other titles I saw recently at my own store for the same price - hardly worth enter the fracas for.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The thing I find humourous about the $6 previewed movies is that sometimes you'll find the same movie BRAND NEW for $3. I've seen at least 3 or 4 different titles like that.

Yup. Wonder what brain at BL Corporate priced the previously-viewed stuff?

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Here are a few I'd never seen before. Beware they're all 'fullscreen only' and the reason that I passed on them.

Funny Farm
Leprechaun/Leprechaun 2
Forget Paris/Father's Day/My Giant
Passenger 57/Boiling Point

Not much new at my Big Lots. They did have the Cartoon tin and a Bruce Lee one. Almost bought the cartoon one, but these are public domain stuff that I probably have on several compilations.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I see a few people mentioning the 1977 "Rollercoaster" movie. Can anyone tell me if that's anamorphic WS?
Northern NJ stores get no love. Big restocks, but no "Rollercoaster", no Bond boxes, and no new WB's.
All I grabbed was:
THE NINES (Ryan Reynolds, Hope Davis)
CHRISTMAS DO OVER (Jay Mohr, Daphne Zuniga)
