Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Finally a WB restock at Big Lots here in Mass.
here is what I bought:

The Women (Joan Crawford)
The Cardinal (Otto Preminger)
The Lost Patrol (Karloff)
The Damned
Higher and Higher (Sinatra)
An American In Paris
The Main Event (Streisand)
Marked Woman (Bette Davis)
The Ballad Of Cable Hogue
This Boy's Life
Harper
The Red Badge Of Courage
Double Feature Reservoir Dogs/Bad Lieutenant $2

Also found a lot of stuff I already own
36 Hours

Not a really big supply of this stuff maybe only 3 or 4 titles each.

No, Raynham...sorry should of posted which store.

Not a big restock, but who knows they may have more in the back they kind of just filled in the 4 sided wire rack. A good majority of the WB stock was placed sideways on top of the existing stock.

One other side note it looks like the sold out of all their Previously Viewed titles. The day after thanksgiving they had a big bin of PV's.

Found a copy of The Hunted a pretty decent mid-90's flick with Christopher Lambert and John Lone.
Defiantly worth 3 bucks.

Thanks Drake, you saved me a trip to Bridgewater.

I was at the Raynham store on BF. None of the Warner titles you posted were out at that time. A saleswoman told me that when space becomes available on the wire racks, they just grab more from the back and fill in the gaps, so apparently they do have a cache on occasion waiting in the wings.
Thanks again.

Picked up tonight:

Saboteur (Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece *Re-Release*)
Skeleton Crew

Looks like my local Big Lots (Novato, CA), is closing down. They had 20% off everything in the store (including DVD's) and the receipt mentions the store closing/sales final.

In Gresham, OR they had a lot of Warner titles, however, the two that interested me: Big Red One: The Reconstruction and Key Largo (keepscase) were both sliced not only on the UPC, but straight down the case, destroying the cover art.

I noticed this too, it seems the slice on the UPC continued all the way down the case. I didn't see/buy any that destroyed the artwork but I hope this practice doesn't continue.

JFJ Disc Repair (just google it for their site) is what you are looking for. I have a single arm unit that can make even the worst rental discs look and play like they are brand new. The have a new JFJ Easy Pro unit aimed at the consumer market that is essentially the same as their professional units but at about half the cost.

That's a great idea (the donating to the local library part!). We get an extra tax credit for donating in our state and I have a stack of about fifteen titles that I accidentally purchased more than once from Big Lots!

I guess I lose track, I must have about 4-500 dvd's from Big Lots so far!

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

New shipments at two Orlando area locations.

At the 1880 Semoran Bl store ( Orlando ) I got the following:

Deadly Friend ( WIDEscreen )

Someone's Watching Me! ( WIDEscreen )

Leprechaun / Leprechaun 2 ( double feature - both FULLscreen )

The Off Season ( WIDEscreen ) This was $2.00

I Walked With A Zombie / The Body Snatcher ( double feature - both FULLscreen )

Man With The Golden Arm ( WIDEscreen )

Bronco Billy ( in SNAPcase - both WIDEscreen & FULLscreen - FLIPPER disc )

Victim Of Beauty ( in cardboard sleve - has Universal logo on back and Kreative Digital Entertainment printed on the disc - it was only $1.50 - lol )

Note: most of the DVDs had the bar codes cut.

At the 1452 South State Road 436 store ( Casselberry ) I got the following:

Gross Pointe The Complete Series

Cry Wolf ( WIDEscreen & UNrated version ) I think I got the only copy that was in widescreen.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Wow, hit the jackpot today!

Guys, keep looking it seems as if most of the titles from WB's Twisted Terror collection can be found at Big Lots. Slashed UPC's, 3 bucks.

Picked up Deadly Friend, Dr. Giggles, Eyes of a Stranger, Someone's Watching Me

Also
Funny Games (Remake)
Return to the house on haunted hill
Cats Eye
The Haunting

2$
Bad Leut (NC-17 Version)/Dogs Double feature
5five days to midnight
Frailty
The Dark Half

Also found for 3 bucks.
Murder 101 (Decent 1990 Pierce Brosnan flick)
Wild Side (Box art says 96 min version, the disc is the 111 min directors cut. Be careful though, evidently this company has released both versions of the film, and uses the same case for both releases. So it's a 50-50 shot you'll get the directors cut. Anne Heche/Joan Chen sex scene!)
