Re: Big Lots Part 4

It always happens with the Big Lots stuff. There's a group of resellers that always have the same stuff they do or buy it there. I stand by that these prices will crash for an indefinite period on most of the offerings. It could just take a few days as the products hit all the Big Lots stores. Some one above said its gonna be in a future big lots newspaper ad about the sets. They always have a bit of stock if its in there.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I've seen people buying up Big Lots stock (dvds + other merchandise) and end up reselling it right in the parking lot. Not to mention reselling at pawn shops, auctions, flea markets and only getting $1-2 profit. I would either buy it from the original retailer (in this case, Big Lots) or not at all. After all, the only reason I'm buying it is because of the low cost and interest - I wouldn't waste any time trying to resell a $3 movie or $6 set online. After adding up shipping and other fees, it wouldn't be worth the hassle to me.

now that! is funny, thats like going in the supermarket and buying up every jug of milk and setting up a "milk stand" out in the parking lot. supermarket sold out-we got plenty-right here!

Not that I don't enjoy chastising profiteers, but may I suggest we call the subject closed and get back to the thread's real purpose? :D

anywho, um if i have some extra cash i can try and go back and check and see whats still there if anyone is looking for something (though no promises because i'm pretty poor, but if i can i'll try and head back). they didn't have a wide selection but what they did have they had like a dozen or more so of each which were:

nip tuck season 4 (?) bluray
joey season 1 dvd
pinky and the brain volume 2
west wing season 2 (?)
the OC season 2
the history of rock n roll
roots (new generation or something like that)

Today, I picked up:
The Big Street (Lucille Ball)
Forever Darling (Lucille Ball)
King Kong (2-disc)
I saw a lot of old Ginger Rogers movies in slimcases (probably separated from the boxed sets).

I'd like that Wonder Woman set if anyone finds an extra. I could trade a Scooby Movies or ThunderCats Season 2 Volume 2.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Hit a store that I had checked a few days ago. Apparently they had received a huge shipment yesterday. Found the same animated sets that I've seen before. A few new things (at least I don't think they've been mentioned):

The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour Complete Series
Also a different Superfriends/Justice League box set containing the two volumes of the Challenge of the Superfriends along with Justice League: Secret Origins.
Finally a 3 pack of movies priced for $6 - Dreamcatcher, Fear Dot Com & Thirteen Ghosts.

Added a couple of these to my available for trade list found here.

Finally stopped at Big Lots today in Central New Jersey and found a ton of good stuff that people have already mentioned. I picked up:

- Animaniacs Volume 1 = $6
- Pinky and the Brain Volume 1 = $6
- Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (full screen) = $3
- He Knows You're Alone = $3

I also saw a ton of snapcases of The Exorcist, Exorcist III and Creepshow. I also saw a few copies of Freddy VS. Jason. Overall, I walked away with a good amount of stuff and couldn't have been happier with the prices.

I checked my two Big Lots and got:

Final Destination
Brainstorm
Hearts in Atlantis
Creepshow
Dave Chappelle - Killin' Them Softly

Does anybody have extras of Nightmares and Dreamscapes and Nip Tuck S4?? I can get the Animaniacs sets, Thundercats and Scooby Doo two movie packs (they have plenty at my Big Lots)

Wow! What a horrible 3 Pack. HAHAHAHA! Those are literally 3 of the movies in my top worst movies list. LOL!

One of my stores FINALLY got the tv season assortment.... sort of.

I show up and find these two shelves full of sets: about 15 each of OC S2 and West Wing S2, and then about 30+ of The New Scooby Doo.... and that's it. Maybe they just opened one box and thought the others were more of the same? I don't know. I asked about other sets and they said no, that's it.

...dont you just love when you know more than the people who actually work there? -ohbfrank-

You must have not seen that many movies because they weren't that bad.

Maybe not worthy of an all-time worst list, but they most definitely WERE all quite horrible films.

I've been to like 8 or 9 BL in my area and cannot find Roots, which is the one thing I really want. I'll happily pay the cost plus shipping up to a total of $10

I grabbed that a while ago too. It strikes me as odd that BL got loads of this film, but I haven't seen mention of even a single sighting of "The Long Long Trailer".

Tried two more stores today, nothing.

My girlfriend is going to try the two Big Lots near her job today; I'd love to pick up Nip/Tuck on Blu-ray (for myself) and the Dallas sets for my grandfather.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Hit 2 more today, one of which got a huge restock from last week.
Got
Pinky and The Brain 1&2
Animaniacs 2
Wonder Woman Complete Series (there were only 2 of these and the second was gone a few minutes after I grabbed mine)
Last copy of Roots 30th Anniv
The elusive Wait Til Your Father Gets Home
NFL Films Archives (about the AFL/NFL merger)
History of Rock N Roll box set
The Dark Backward SE for $3

They had 2 of the Smallville S7 Blu Ray, but I put it back since I don't watch the show and didn't want to start at season 7. Sometimes (often? :) ) the buzz of getting a bargain overrides common sense.

Saw tons of Dallas, tons of ER and Dukes of Hazzard, OC--all the same seasons everyone else is seeing. No Dynomutt/Scooby, that's a new one to look out for.
Also both stores have received a ton more of the New Scooby Doo Movies set, so anyone looking for that, keep checking, there's apparently a lot of them out there.

That's kinda how mine was. About 15 each of Animaniacs V1 and Pinky & the Brain V1, and 30+ New Scooby Doo Movies (which is a damn shame since I paid full price for that years ago). I have a feeling there is more in back, but I didn't ask. I'll be hunting regularly until I find me that Wonder Woman set, plus other animated box sets. I'll pass on ER and Dallas, like many of you are.

My girlfriend went to two other Big Lots before her work event. None had the restock. :(

I'll check again throughout the weeks, but if anybody finds a copy of Nip/Tuck on Blu there, I'd be willing to pay the cost plus shipping.

Hey man, nope sorry I didn't see any Smallville BluRay sets. As a matter a fact, there were no Blu-Rays at all at my Big Lots. Sorry man.

I'd have sent you a Scooby/Dynomutt set if you had grabbed that other Wonder Woman series. :D

It seems as if that Wonder Woman series may be the most elusive of the new stuff. I'll make some more rounds tomorrow. These deals are extra sweet when you have to hunt 'em down.

The store I was just at had lots of Joey S1, Night Court S1, Dukes of Hazzard S5 & 6, West Wing S2, Roots, Animaniacs V1, History of the L.A. Lakers, History of Rock and Roll, Nip/Tuck S4 BD, and a couple copies of Superbowl XI-XX & XXI-XXX.

Still no Dallas, ER, Superbowls XXXI-XL, I-X, Dallas Cowboys, NFL Films Archives (about the AFL/NFL merger), Wonder Women or Pinky and the Brain V2.

Went to a BL I was at 3 days ago. They had nothing then. Now they had many Scooby Doo Movies, and two Thundercats S1 V1 (6 disc set). I bought the Thundercats to trade (hopefully for a V2). I saw Dukes of Hazzard S3 and S4 at Marshalls today as well (9.99 there). My quest continues...

Super Bowl sets at the Turfland Mall location in Lexington, KY this evening... Seen em', don't need em'... Other than that, nothing new. Resisted the urge to scoop up 10 Bonds. I need to eat.

I'll check Eastland this weekend though... Would love to score some ER.

Restock????!!! We haven't got the TV boxes or the new Warner batch for the 1st time yet, & I've only seen the bonds in 1 store pretty far from me!

Hit Big Lots this afternoon and nothing. Went again tonight in search of those Dallas seasons and they had stocked:

Joey S1
Dukes of Hazzard S5 & 6
The OC S2
Lakers
Scooby-Doo 3-pk (are these the old shows from the original Scooby run?)
Pinky & Brain V2

No Dallas :( An employee that was near the DVD's told me they got another truck today and it hasn't been worked yet, so to check back.

Went in today and found nothing great. They did have a tall MGM display with the Bonds and other titles. Picked up Never Say Never Again. Started to pick up Viva Knievel and Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind but chose to go pick up Summer School at Walmart for $3.
