Two of my stores had a TON of additional box sets. Picked up:

The Scooby-Doo! Collection(Scooby-Doo's Greatest Mysteries, Winter WonderDog, Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers)
Dukes of Hazzard: the Complete 5th Season
Dukes of Hazzard: the Complete 6th Season
Joey: the Complete 1st Season
Thundercats: Season 2 - Volume 2
Animaniacs: Volume 2
Pinky & the Brain: Volume 2

Also saw many of the titles others have listed but don't recall anything that hasn't been mentioned.

WANTED: Thundercats-complete season 1 volume 1, complete season 1 volume 2, complete season 2 volume 1. Will trade or purchase. Most titles other than the Wonder Woman complete set are still available in my area.

If you don't have your locations underneath your name, could you please post which city & state you found your sets?

I gotta stay away until I have money again. But someone said the promotion officially starts on the 12th, so I'll be hitting my Big Lots on that date just in case.

No box sets in Derry on Monday, but did find the newest Warner batch with NO UPC scratches, YAY!!
All of these Warner titles now have the white sticker over the barcode instead of the nasty scratch thru. This batch was full of musicals, lots of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Elvis, John Wayne, lots of classics, etc.

Also picked up a couple of other random titles.

Warner titles:
Cabaret (snapper w/Gold Slipcover) this appears to be non-anamorphic, I'm returning it
Paradise Now
Around The Bend
Gothika (Two-Disc Special Editon)
Private Parts
Jeremiah Johnson
Before Sunrise
White Sands
City Hall
Diner
Imaginary Crimes
Brainstorm
The Right Stuff (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Hero At Large
McQ
They Were Expendable
Where Eagles Dare
Harum Scarum
Pat And Mike
East Side, West Side
The Big Street
There Was A Crooked Man...
Ninotchka
Steelyard Blues
Hallelujah
Kitty Foyle
Wife Versus Secretary
Humoresque

Others:
Winter Passing (Fox)
Eddie And The Cruisers (MGM)
The Kids In The Hall: Tour Of Duty (WIN Media)

Went back to one of 2 local BL yesterday WED to grab something for a gift that I did not grab on SUN.... The racks were again fulll with new stuff.... Snagged Brainstorm Remastered Animorph to replace my non-animorph copy (which WAS NOT THERE on SUN).... Anyway, when checking out, I asked when they get new shipments or put out new stock... and they .... get this... told me .... on Thursdays........ Which is impossible... since there was new stuff between Sun & Wed... anway, that tells me 1) they don't know and wanted to say anything or 2) they put it out any day but get new stuff on Thurs and 3) it might be worth a return trip to a store you already visited....

I think option 2 is very likely, and 3 is an absolute must... One of my locations had so many DVD's I gave up on looking through them all since it was giving me a headache (they have them down low so I have to crouch or bend down or kneel). I did score The Right Stuff (Two-Disc Special Edition) though, so I didn't walk away empty handed. I'm mainly looking for those boxsets though...

I went to my local Big Lots on Sunday and I didn't see any of this new stuff then, none of the season sets or anything. I called the store earlier just for the heck of it and asked if they had the new shipment of the season sets and stuff, and they said yes. They said they got them in Tuesday and they put them out Tuesday night.

I just went out there, and sure enough a lot of the stuff mentioned here was sitting there. I didn't see everything mentioned, no BDs, but I did pick up a few of the things I wanted.

Anyway, if you checked this past weekend and they didn't have anything and you haven't been back, it may be a good time to do so now instead of waiting for this coming weekend.

Just tried to call my local Big Lots. Sadly the lady who answered barely spoke English so I'm pretty sure she had no idea what I was talking about. She immediately said no without even a slight hesitation so I guess I'll have to stop by and check for myself.

Just called mine but the lady said they have not received nor put out anything since last week... hmmmm? .. She asked what I was looking for and I told her the TV Series box sets (including some Blu-Ray titles) ... to which she said.... "I don't think we carry any blu-rays".... but she did say when they unloaded the truck, there was some unopened boxes of Warner Brothers titles that were not put out yet.... the Hunt continues....

My store (Cary, NC) had a ton of new TV stuff show up since I was last there on Monday. I only got Drew Carey, Night Court and Dukes Season 4, but they had a ton of Dallas, Friends, Joey, West Wing (Season 2 I think), ER, Nip/Tuck Blu-Ray. Really hoping to find Wonder Woman, so now I've got to keep checking back for that one.

Anyone want to pick me up some titles if they don't come my way? I want more Scooby, and $6 Blu's! I never thought I'd see that happen.

Finally found some in Turlock, CA. They had a bunch of Pinky, Scooby, Life Goes On, OC Season 3, Jamie Foxx Show?, Wonder Woman Complete Series, Smallville BLU, Roots and much more.

Also, picked up Quick Change with Bill Murray for $3...classic

I picked up an extra Scooby 5 movie pack and Scooby 3 movie pack and Smallville Season to trade. Looking for Scooby Season sets.

One thing I've learned - expect nothing. Every time I see something intriguing on here, and then go out to look for it, it's never there. I've made about 5 trips in the past month.

Only one location in Dallas that I've visited has season sets, and that is the Centerville / NW HWY location, and they only had Joey S1 and Dukes of Hazzard S6. But they had quite a few. I'm still hoping one of you benevolent souls will grab Roots 30AE for me and take my $10.

Chop2Chip10 07-02-09 03:23 PM

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Zom..they had 5 at my local store this morning. I need to go to a store right next to Big Lots later today and I will pick it up for you if they still have one.

went to my nearest store today and found the Pinky & The Brain vol 2, Dukes of Hazzard s6, nip/tuck season 4 blu, the oc season 2, roots next generations, history of rock n roll, and west wing season 2 sets.

if anyone wants to work out some sort of trade for one of these i can go back and get it.

FINALLY!! In Landsdale, PA...
- The Challenge Of The Super Friends: The First Season
- Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show: The Complete Series
- The Best Of The New Scooby-Doo Movies
- Wait Till Your Father Gets Home: The Complete First Season
- ThunderCats: Season Two - Volume Two

All $6.00

Sadly that was pretty much all they had (also vol 1 and 2 of Animaniacs). Hope the other one near me gets other titles in soon!

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I went to 2 Big Lots today. The first one didn't have much but I did pick up God, The Devil and Bob for $3. I was near another one later this afternoon and thank god I stopped in. I picked up Smallville Seasons 6 and 7 on bluray along with season 4 on standard dvd for $6. I also picked up Nightmares and Dreamscapes and Nip Tuck Season 4. I really wanted nip/tuck on bluray but I didn't want to take the chance of not picking the season up for that much only because of that. They were stocked full though with Full House, The O.C., Knots Landing, Joey, Wonder Woman Complete Series, Jamie Foxx, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Six Feet Under season 3 and the football sets. Also a few of the scooby doo but i'm not sure which/if any are hard to find. If you guys are looking for something and they still have it we can work something out. I really wouldn't mind swapping Nip/Tuck something for Nip/Tuck s4 on bluray.

Today i dropped into BL and they finally had some of the boxes , Scooby doo,
Super Bowl ,Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, thundercats.

I didn't buy anything because I am really not interested in this stuff I was really hoping to find The Right Stuff and Pennies From Heaven.

A lot of this stuff like Pinky and The Brain I have seen at Newbury Comics for around $9.99. Newbury also had all the Flinstones seasons for $9.99 a piece.

Liquid Death 07-02-09 05:36 PM

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I saw multiple copies of:

Animaniacs Vol 1 & 2
Pinky & the Brain Vol 1 & 2
Joey S1
Nip/Tuck S4
Smallville S4
Dallas (not sure which season or seasons)
E.R. (at least four different seasons)
West Wing S2
Night Court S1
Dukes of Hazzard S4, S5, S6
Jamie Foxx Show S1
Roots: Next Generation
Scooby Doo: Movies Collection (5 individually packaged movies in a slipcase)
Wonder Woman S2 (I think)
Knots Landing
Six Feet Under S3

NOTE: The Thundercats DVDs I saw were NOT the six DVD sets, but rather the individual 2 disc releases that Hot Topic had.

The O.C. (just one season, not sure which)

Score!

ER seasons 2, 3, 7 and 9...

Also grabbed Animaniacs V2, Pinky and the Brain V2 and the History of Rock n Roll set. Not sure if I'll keep those but I couldn't pass.

They had multiples of the above - minus ER (I grabbed the only copy of season 9 and there were singles of 7 and 3 I think, a few copies of 2). They also have Nip/Tuck S4, Dallas, Dukes S6, Joey S1, The O.C. S2, the Scooby's, The West Wing S2 and a new flat of WB titles (mostly snappers).

I'm off tomorrow so I might check the Richmond location... Can't really afford it (hence, I picked up nothing extra to trade this time) but the ER score makes me want to check there anyhoo. Just in case.

I may be able to pick something up for trade if anyone has found any of the other ER sets. If you have or see seasons other than 2, 3, 7, 9 and grab an extra then let me know what you're looking for and I'll check here.

Does anyone know what seasons of Friends they have?? I picked up seasons 5 and 9 today. Just wondering if there are anymore being sold, thanks.

I know this probably belongs in a trade thread, but since people are looking here to see what different locations have:

I still need:
Looney Tunes
ER (anything besides 2,3,7)
SuperBowl XXI-XXX

and Pennies From Heaven

...my stores have almost everything else (no blu's), so if you need something, I can pick it up and trade for any of those

I checked my two closest stores today, and only one of them had any sets in, and the only ones they had were Pinky and the Brain, Super Bowl sets, and the Scooby Doo DVD's. I did pick up Creepshow and Everything is Illuminated for $3 each. The other had no new stock. I was hoping to pick up Nightmares & Dreamscapes and God, the Devil and Bob. I will check the other out of the way store on Saturday.

Thanks for the heads up! I live about 45 minutes from Lexington and get there once a month or so, so I appreciate knowing when it might be especially worthwhile to make a trip. I'm hoping to be in town tomorrow; I've got my fingers crossed that some of those goodies will still be there at the Eastland store.

NP... They also have multiples of Animaniacs V1, Pinky V1, Friends S5 and Roots (Next Gen)... It was 7:00 PM so they closed in a bit. They will be there.

Grab a cart on the way in. :D

Thanks for all the reporting!

I picked up Animanics, S1, Night Court S1, Two Towers LE (I had a cheap version before, so this is a nice find for me) and The New Scooby Doo Movies. Also saw Pinky and the Brain S1 at mine, but none of the other tv shows.

Very little here (Pierce co, wa). Store #1 had Scooby Doo new movie & several Scoobie Doo 2 packs, +1 Looney Toons, 2 LOTR 2 Disc expanded &1 Animaniacs; Store #2 doesn't know what was on truck; Store #3 got nothing new though I finally found Sweet & Lowdown Flipper.

I'm really hoping to find the History Of R&R Box for $6!

I was in that same store earlier in the afternoon. The cashier indicated they had just received 12 boxes of DVDs the night before and had sat them out that morning.

Interested to know if you find anything at that Richmond location. I do a fair amount of traveling through KY and might have to work out a trip that direction.

That other Lexington location still has nothing but a few Super Bowl sets (you mentioned they lacked anything a day or two ago).

At another store, there was about 8-10 copies of the LA Lakers Complete History but very little of any other sets. Strange...
