Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I got a Jeepers Creepers Double Feature for $5 at WM last week. On the display, not in the $5 dump bin (which is now almost 100% Latino movies).

Both of the Jeepers Creepers movies are in a standard Keep Case with a paper insert glued to the outside of the case.

On a related note the notes on the Special Features is wrong, JC1 doesn't have Deleted Scenes as listed on the back cover. Just the Audio Commentary.

I saw a cardboard display today with $3 Mill Creek double feature titles. Some of the ones I remember seeing were Ice Cream Man/Jack Frost 2, Camp Nowhere/Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend, Invisible Dad/My Magic Dog, Devil In The Flesh/Devil In The Flesh 2 and several others.

I recently bought the 1949 Batman And Robin serial at Wal Mart for $5. I've seen the 1943 serial (called "Batman") around town for roughly $10. Has anybody seen it at a Wal Mart? (It's this one.) Thanks.

Hey you may want to check out Target. I think I saw a Hellraiser 4-pack for like $10. There's also a Freddy Kruger 2-part 4 pack, a Halloween 4 pack, Friday 13th 4 pack if I remember correctly.

I found the Batman serial at Big Lots for $3 about two years ago, but that's the only place I've ever seen it cheap.

Where was the Batman & Robin serial at Wal-Mart, btw? Dump bin or on a rack?

On the rack, surrounded by a few other Batman titles like the animated Mask Of The Phantasm. Batman And Robin was released to DVD first, so it could be they're arriving at Wal Mart in the same order...but I'm getting antsy!

I would love to finally get my grubby little Bat-paws on the '43 serial. I picked up Batman and Robin a couple years ago and finally got around to watching it a couple weeks ago for the Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge and adored it. I was at my local Walmart on Thursday and saw no such assortment of Bat-titles, but I'll make a conscious effort to check in on them more regularly now.

I visit 5 Wal-Marts on a semi-regular basis, and so far noticed Batman and Robin at just one...so even for this geographic area, it's very hit and miss. No idea why. Maybe I'll snap a pic the next time I'm shopping on the other side of town.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Don't know if they've been noted here, but there are some classic Audrey Hepburn flicks in the bins and $5 shelves that I've seen lately, incl. Roman Holiday, Funny Face, Sabrina, & Paris When it Sizzles. Picked up Roman Holiday myself, one of the great romantic comedies.

Finally saw these at my WM, was surprised to see it actually.

I also saw a new $5 display full of Fox Video titles.

Same here. I was about to go to Walmart.com and order it until you said it was not Kolchak. It would be nice if postings were clearer so I don't get excited for nothing. I never even knew they made a new series by the same name.

b2net put together a massive list of titles on sale and you're bitching that he wasn't specific enough? You were "about to go to Walmart.com" until you found out it wasn't the right title? Thank God you didn't have to waste all that time typing walmart.com into your search bar.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Sorry, b2net. I didn't mean to disparage your efforts. Keep up the good work! Thanks for posting the titles.

The reason I posted is I got excited thinking it was Kolchak and then disappointed when it wasn't, so I would've preferred those details to be added, but certainly when someone is doing us a favor it's a bit much to ask they research all the titles. I didn't even look to see who posted the list. I shouldn't have said anything (especially because b2net is not a member of the official Manzana Attackers Club (tm) (MAC for short) whereas dino88 is a charter member).

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Some wal-marts have a $4 pallet of warner titles.. Many the new keepcase version of an old snapper. The gauntlet, demolition man, a lot of titles that have been cut out at big lots, but IMHO worth the extra dollar not to have the slash...

Saw this display as well. Interesting that I found several copies of The Messenger (2009) as part of it. When I tried to purchase it, it rang up as $10. I had picked up 2 of the double feature sets as well and pointed out how the price tags were similar and from the same display. The manager did a price override for me but seemed to indicate that the title shouldn't have been a part of that display and they'd be removing them.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I picked up Ghost Rider 2 disc extended cut for $5. The added footage probably doesn't make the movie any better, but since I've seen the theatrical version in the same bin for a while, I figured it was worth it.

At almost every store in Austin, TX the $3 double features have been in a separate isle display or near the front of the store so location has not necessarily been obvious.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Mine has these Mill Creek double feature $3 DVDs in a bin with a huge $5 price tag on the box.

Mine also has another $5 bin with mostly Fox titles. And then another $5 bin with mostly Mexican titles.
