Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Are the lionsgate 4 packs available anywhere online? I am specifically looking for the 4 pack that has student bodies and I cannot find those at any of the nearby wal-marts.

Limited appeal and limited availability - I love these sports sets, but WM usually only carries ones of local interest which obviously makes sense. I always see UL/UK DVDs on the endcaps of Wal-marts near me, but nothing marked down cheap enough for me to pull the trigger. But I agree that sounds like a great deal for that set!

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I'm not sure if they've been mentioned yet, but in the red freestanding cardboard display with $7.50 and $9 titles, I spotted the following DC Animated movies;

Superman: Doomsday
Batman: Gotham Knight
Justice League: The New Frontier
Green Lantern: First Flight

Each was the 2-disc version, often with slipcover, and priced at $7.50 a pop. They were shelved with other comic book films and cartoons priced the same, such as;

Ghost Rider
X-Men
X2: X-Men United
X-Men: The Last Stand
The Adventures of Captain Marvel
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2-disc)
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes Volumes 1-3
Spider-Man: The Animated Series (MTV)
plus others that I cannot remember

If you are only looking for Student Bodies, you may want to check your local Kmart. This is where I found mine for only $5.

My bad. I meant to say the 4 pack that had Slaughter High, My Best Friend Is A Vampire, Repossesed and Silent Night Deadly Night 3. Don't know why I said Student Bodies, but now that I think about it I need that one too.

Was in a WalMart in Frisco, TX (near 121 and Preston) today and saw a display of Digiview DVDs (public domain titles in thin cases, usually $1) for $.25 each.

Don't know if these have been reported but I seen American Dad V1-V2 and King of the Hill S1-S2 & S3-S4 bundled for $20 each and I picked up South Park: Season 7 for $10 tonight and got Season 6 like a week ago for the same.

They also had a 4 pack of Pumpkinhead 2, Leprechaun, Wishmaster, Wishmaster 2.
Wish I could find these. The only one I found was the Pumpkinhead 2, Leprechaun, Wishmaster 1 & 2 set. It was the last one in the store.

Got Youth in Revolt on Blu-Ray today for $14.99- the regular DVD was $19.99! This was at the Watt/El Camino (former Montgomery Ward's) in Sacramento. Extremely YMMV since I saw it for $19.99 at another location, and almost bit on that!

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I bought Airwolf season 1 for $13 recently.

This was from the huge display stating "Starting at $7.50".
In that same display (without any price tags) were the following.
Magnum P.I. seasons 1 & 2
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Season 1
Punky Brewster Season 1
Incredible Hulk seasons 1 & 2
I Love Lucy seasons 1 & 2
Some 5 movie packs from Universal video
Pink Panther 2
Predator 2 disc edition
The Chipmunks movie
Pyscho
and many others

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I saw the original Dracula and Wolfman each for $7.50 today. I love the old Universal monster movies, but for being so old, shouldn't these be $5.00 at most?

I take it they weren't the Universal Legacy Series versions? Like this?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

^^They are the original "Universal Studios Classic Monster Collection" series ones.

^^^You would think they'd be less... but they still go for $10-$15 almost everywhere so $7.50 is not too bad. The sad part is that even after 3 attempts Uni *still* hasn't done "Dracula" properly with a single release having definitive audio *and* video.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

All the extras from the CMC editions were ported over into the later releases, right?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

For those that found American Dad Vol. 1/2, did your Wal-Mart have the new Vista Packaging or the old Slipcover/Slim Pack?

The ones I've seen had the old slipcover / slim pack design, which sucks because I want to get rid of the old slipcover/slim pack releases I have and find a way to get the new packaging cheap (and the same applies to Family Guy Vol. 1 - 6), since I need to make more space on my shelves.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

This morning, I came across a Predator 3-pack (Predator, Predator2, AVP1) and Alien 3-pack (Alien, Aliens, Alien3). Each 3-pack was $10. Each collection comes in a slipcase consisting of three slimline cases. And the best part is that the movies are in widescreen/letterbox format. And from what was pictured on the Alien 3-pack packaging, it includes the special edition/extended cut of Aliens.
