Maybe, we should work something out. I can pick up Sunset Blvd. and Roman Holiday, you grab Ringu!

No luck finding Ringu either. What the hell? I know it's going to show up in a few weeks because that's usually my luck.

Stopped in to Walmart last night for the first time in a month. Picked up:

Indecent Proposal
Ringu Anthology

They only had one copy of each, so I was lucky.

Or watch Ringu and skip the others. I regret watching Ringu 2 and I walked out Ringu 0. I won't even bother watching Rasen. It's a horrible series, IMO, but the only reason to buy the set is because it's $4 and you get Ringu. Either that or buy Ringu separately for like $10 on Amazon.

New Lynn, Haven FL Super Wal-Mart had Bonnie and Clyde (not the special edition) in a 5.00 bin. The store's brand new and I love how they have the bargain DVD laid out - separate shelves for 9, 13, 5 dollar ones.

I am holding out for the newer pressing, I hear it is a much better looking print and also in 5.1

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Ok. Came back from Wal-Mart and finally found like 2 titles of the Centennial DVDs: Roman Holiday and Odd Couple. Didn't buy them because I never really "heard" of the movies before. I rather wanted to find Sunset Blvd. but no such luck. However, I did hide the DVDs so I can buy them next time I go back.

I always chuckle at comments like this. I have this picture in my mind of a husband arriving at home and telling the wife, "I picked up the milk and diapers for you and look what I found behind the box of Pampers...The Odd Couple!"

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I went to Wal-Mart today, and they had a $4 display...they had Mission: Impossible 1 and 2 (2-disc each), Dreamgirls 2-disc, Into the Wild 2-disc, Sunset Boulevard Centennial, Roman Holiday Centennial...they had some good titles available. I picked up Sunset Boulevard and Into the Wild (I thought the 2-disc edition was out of print?!)...so it was a good haul.

The first rule in bargain hunting: If you have the cash, ALWAYS BUY IT -- you can always return it later.

I learned this the hard way many years ago: Saw a copy of Little Mermaid VHS and didn't pick it up, even though I knew it was OOP. Went back -- gone.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Stopped by an out of the way WM while visting a flea market today. FINALLY found one single copy of Roman Holiday. Also picked up Casshern as a blind buy (still rang up $3).

After checking 4 different stores (8 trips total in 3 weeks), I really hope I'm done with Wally World for the year - or at least until Black Friday.

Oh, you have a good point. Never thought of that (of returning it).

Mines had a $4 bin but practically all of the good stuff was taken if the Centennial editions were supposed to be on there. Mines had something like The Firm, The Grudge, An Inconvenient Truth, etc.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I guess I should check this thread more thoroughly since the whole $4 fiasco was stated like 3 weeks ago. I'm actually lucky enough to find some Centennials around. This makes be furious since I really, really wanted Sunset Blvd. If only I looked at this thread 3 weeks ago...

I remember hearing that the 1st vhs pressings of little mermaid were recalled because some artist at disney's idea of a joke was to make one of the towers of the castle on the front of the box look like a penis, and you wouldnt notice unless you looked at the picture very closely. just verified-it is true, you can see it here http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Disney/Mermaid.html

they called the penis tower a dingleberry... they obviously don't know what a dingleberry is

You've never heard of Roman Holiday or The Odd Couple? I find it hard to believe you've never heard of The Odd Couple. I've never seen Roman Holiday but I've at least heard of it.

More importantly, he's doing whatever he can to keep people who have heard of Roman Holiday and The Odd Couple from purchasing the DVD's, on the off-chance that he may decide to go back and buy them someday.

I might bite at that price. It'd be nice to have the bonus material.
