Do the original series and the new one share the same plot and twists? Don't spoil! Just a simple yes or no will do =]

Would have jumped on the Epic Series for $20 or $25...but not at $40. --Peter

the Lightening deals are OK, but the DOTD are downright terrible.

I wonder if Amazon is catching on to the fact the may not have to give the discounts this forum considers good to get sales. I passed on Knightrider and Norther Exposure, but apparently (at least NE) sold out. So if that keeps up, we may see the really good deals dry up.

Big Love is the same price today as it was during the "sale" yesterday.

I noticed that Knightrider didn't sell out...I think it was at around 62% sold.

Same plot? Yes, kind of (as in, the same overall set up to the show)....
Same twists? Not in the least!

All gone.

Sad tale: Since we are EST, Lightning Deal doesn't start till around 1 P.M. Planned to check in sometime after the deal started, but got busy doing other things, had a late lunch, & fell asleep. Woke up once & looked at clock but was so drowsy & warm that I fell asleep again. Woke up around 30 minutes later, looked at the time, & figured I might better check out the deal to see if it was still on.

Logged on, went directly to Amazon, saw that the sets were 98% claimed, & added one to my cart. Went directly to checkout thinking I had gotten one of the last copies (limit one per customer). When I changed the shipping option to free shipping, the price jumped from $40.99 to $72.99. Went back to original page (still showing 98% claimed & went through checkout again...still showing 98% claimed). While I was trying to figure out why an item could be sold out of my cart, the site finally changed the info. to read "All Discounts Claimed".

Truly a case of snoozin' & losin'.

I'm curious. Did you add the the set to your cart from the gold box page or the product page? And were you logged into the site when you added it to your cart?

email them, I had the same thing earlier this week. I put a gold box deal in my cart, then took it out, and couldn't claim it again. I emailed them and they said they would honor the gold box price (they didn't get back to me till after the deal expired)

Friday's deal:

Two and a Half Men: The Complete Seasons 1-5 - $99.99

Lightning deal clue: "If you miss the deal on this classic action series, you could go green with envy."

guess: The Incredible Hulk: The Complete Series...currently $111.99, will probably be around $60

Have they all been Universal so far? This one will probably be The Incredible Hulk complete series.

edit: Yeah, you're right. I hadn't even realized. The Incredible Hulk is also Universal (just checked) so that has to be the lightning deal.

BTW this will be the last lightning deal for the tv shows. Sat & Sun will only be a deal of the day...and will be current or recent shows.

Been absolutely zilch I've wanted to bite on. Thankfully I've gotten most of my big TV deals out of the way, thanks to that awesome HBO sale from a while back, as well as the sub $100 Twilight Zone and Seinfeld.

Yes. Hopefully we actually see some deals at that point. (Not saying they've all sucked this week, but they haven't been that thrilling.)

Wow, that's 0 for 10 on Amazon's part this week. I can't really see tomorrow or Sunday's deal being anything better.

Re: TV Week in Amazon's Gold Box (May 18-24)...Early warning for your wallet

The individual seasons of the Hulk are already on sale as part of the Father Days deal going on through some time in June for $16 a season. So unless the series set is under $75 total then it is no deal at all. Especially with the last season a short season. I was already planning on getting seasosn 1-4 for $64.

Personally, I'd rather have season sets anyway since the packaging is generally better suited to protecting the disks. Really a strange week since some of their DOTD and LD directly conflict with other deals they have.

Here I though I'd be stretching out the old funds this week which would be taking away from what I could spend at the hopefully upcoming DD sale in June/July. But so far it has had little to no impact.

Maybe the title of this thread should be changed, because my wallet has so far escaped without a dent during this week of lame sales.

Good grief, that's like $20 a season. No thanks. So decent deals to note from Amazon:

NCIS S4 - $27

24 Seasons - $18

Tango and Cash blu-ray $14

Flag of our Fathers blu-ray $14

Re: TV Week in Amazon's Gold Box (May 18-24)...Early warning for your wallet

$20 for a Two and Half Men season is NOT a deal!! If the complete seasons would've been $75, I might've jumped for them, but not at $100, is not worth it! Heck, I got the MASH boxset from DD for less than $75!!

Hulk as a LD, if it was $50, I might feel tempted...but like said above, that's good, that way we save enough for the HD DOTD week!!

Jeffbase, BB also has 24 for $17.99, it's taxed, I know, but I wanted to have them already for my dad...

the two and a half men doesn't look like a deal at all. aren't these seasons normally around this price or slightly higher in a buy one get one scenerio? i will get the hulk if it hits my pricepoint and i am aware of the time (i'll be at work). does the complete set include anything the individual seasons do not (ie the tv movies?)

There is the same basic set-up but very quickly the shows become two seperate, different beasts.
