Visited Seekonk, MA location today. Picked up the last copies of the Network & Band Wagon 2 disc SEs. Not many Bonds left, mostly Moore & Dalton. Saw only one Connery, a single copy of Goldfinger. Saw many copies of Gigi, The Betsy, THX-1138 Director's Cut, That Championship Season, Network 1 disc snapper, Space Cowboys, Stagecoach.

No Bonds at my store yet, but it doesn't matter since I bought the box set from Amazon a couple of weeks ago during a Gold Box sale.
I picked up the following yesterday:
The American President (Since WB won't release a anamorphic widescreen version of this, I figured the $3 snapper will tide me over until they do.)
The Amazing Story of Superman (I didn't get this the first time I saw it since I didn't know if it was included in the Christopher Reeves Superman collection.)
The Band Wagon
The Cell
Dave (snapper)
Hollywood Homicide

Is anyone hitting up the Louisiana stores? I have been looking in these for 2 disc East of Eden in Baton Rouge with no luck. I was wondering if some of the other Louisiana stores had it or something else worth making a trip for.

Found the Bond films & also noticed the missing stickers & shrink wrap. Some of the covers had tell-tell signs that these have been opened ( pre-viewed, returns, etc.) & run the risk of missing the booklets or disc wear.
Has anyone that has opened theirs, found any problems?
Longtime Lurker. Thanks for the forum!

"Usually" the price is $3.00. I've found a lot of great stuff for just $3.00 each over the last few months. The James Bond's are $4.00 each and so are their Goosebump titles. Their Christmas titles like Rudolph and Frosty are $5.00 each. Some other Christmas titles, like "A Carol Christmas" are priced at $2.00 each. Perhaps, there may still be decent $2.00 titles leftover in the bins from the Black Friday sale that would have otherwise been $3.00 priced titles. Big Lots has some $1.00 DVD's but the picture quality on those are usually crap, in my experience.

Just got an email with their new ad which features the Bond $4 titles on the back page. It says it's the ad for "product arriving Wednesday, December 3". So anyone who hasn't seen them yet (including myself) at their local Big Lots, check back mid-week.

Big Lots is responsible for the huge pile of new dvds in my collection... at 2-3 bucks a pop, how can I resist
Started with that one fateful trip while in Va with my mother... many visits later... I have done pretty well in getting most of the titles I really wanted from the list...

Wasn't able to get to Biglots until Sunday, but they still had a bunch of the $2 movies. I got the Sony/Columbia "Western Legends Double Feature" which has The Man from Laramie (1955), starring James Stewart and The Desperadoes (1943), starring Randolph Scott and Glenn Ford. 2 movies on 2 discs for only $2. I need to go to DVD rehab. My unwatched pile of Biglots DVDs is well over 100...

I hit up my BL today and was happy to find a lot of the good stuff was still there, because everybody here was more interested in New York Minutes and House of Wax (which I saw as part of the Black Friday display)
I got
Squid and the Whale $2
Philadelphia Story
East of Eden
Night Shift (X-mas gift)
Her Alibi ("")
Little Children
The Good German
The cuts on the back were minor and I could really care less.
I saw Gigi, all the Bonds, In the Land of Women, The Betsy, New York Minute, Executive Decision, Presumed Innocent, Gothika, that Golddiggers title, The Petrified Forest and others.

After scoring six of the Bond films on Blu-ray at Amazon for ~$7 each I'm going to have a hard time with buying any regular DVDs for $4 each. Hopefully, my Big Lots will get some other new DVDs tomorrow. My $10 gift card is burning a hole in my pocket.

My local BL finally got a WB rack in. Picked up:
- Dames (Busby Berkeley)
- The Betsy (full screen, but hey, Kathleen Beller *giggedy*)
- A Very Long Engagement
- would have gotten The Good German, but the only one there was gouged all the way down the back, not just the UPC!
- several Bonds for the missus
- The Holcroft Covenant (non-anamorphic, but hey, Frankenheimer commentary)
- some anime to use as xmas presents
From the Black Friday $2 leftovers:
- The Brother From Another Planet
- 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag
- Killing Me Softly (Unrated; best $2 buy ever)

Went back to both Big Lots in town, and thankfully found a few more titles to squeeze into my packed DVD shelves:
American Flyers (WS/FS)
Conspiracy Theory (WS/FS)
The Exorcist (25th Anniversary)
National Lampoon's Gold Diggers
Network (2-disc)
Speechless (Michael Keaton / Geena Davis)
Talk to Her (Pedro Almodovar)
Tequila Sunrise (Gibson / Pfeiffer / Russell)
Need to pick up Honkeytonk Man next time, I thought I already owned it but I do not.
Previously I'd noticed a huge pile of "Look, Up in the Sky!: The Amazing Story of Superman" and this time they were completely gone, so that title must have flown out the door. I watched it last night and found it entertaining and informative.

The ads for the BL near me (only one for ~70 miles) comes in the Wednesday paper with the online version showing up Monday or Tuesday. Everyone was talking about a Sunday ad and Bond product which I thought was odd. I was unable to venture out Sunday and as there was no BL ad in the paper PLUS no ad online for my store (check back Tuesday) I did not get too concerned. I went in today to check on a couple of other items and commented on all the new sale stuff on the "Ad Isle". The Asst. Mgr. then told me that they put out all ad items for Sunday sale as they are considered to be part of a larger grouping of metropolitan stores who put their ad and sales items out on Sunday. I commented about the sale ad coming in the paper on Wednesday and there was not one in the Sunday paper. That's when I was given more detail that, yes, the ad comes out Wednesday but ALL the ad items are on the shelf on Sunday! They have no choice and are told by the district supervisor to do this! They had 1 Bond left on the shelf when I was in the store around noon and indicated there would probably not be a restock! Really sucks!

Checked out the selection at 1 of the 3 BL's in my city. They had a small box of the $2 dvd's, no new titles, a bunch of the $5 xmas, & a restock of the HBO titles. The only thing that was new to me was the Whoopi Goldberg Broadway 2 DVD. This store missed out on the Warner titles; strange story but the store was scheduled to close & then BL changed there minds at the very last minute, so the store never got a delivery the week the Warner dvd's came out in Washington.

i picked up the petrified forest, not much else i want that i don't already have.
though its awesome to see a very long engagement, adaptation, and the good german there. i already own em but i'd recommend everyone to pick those up.
also glad to see someone found that they're carrying brother from another planet, i've been meaning to pick that up for a while so now i have to really keep an eye out for it. that and i'd like a lot of those older ones like east of eden and the philadelphia story (though i own the single disc already, why not pick up the two disc for a couple bucks)

DVDEmpire and/or DVDAf are better sources to use versus DD/IMDb.

Most of the titles I saw looked fine but a few copies had edges that had been peeled off with the security stickers. If they had been sealed inside a box set, I can't understand them opening individual titles & resealing them to sell at a discount. Did the box set even have the original keepcase versions?
I'm just warning collector's since the packaging states that a collectible booklet is included. I thought it was odd that Big Lots or MGM would sell used copies & not have a notice on the packages. Thanks.
