I thought this might be of some interest to all you Big Lots shoppers. I just noticed that their ad for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday includes this:
"Early Bird Special! Thursday, Friday, & Saturday before 11am
Spend $50 and receive a $10 off coupon good toward your next purchase!*"
Didn't see any other disclaimer other than the hours, but please note the asterisk. I didn't see any reference in the ad in regards to the asterisk, so I guess we'll see.

No DVD's for sale on their website now...but that would be cool to see the $3.00 DVD's on biglots.com someday! Now, that would be "Big Lots fever" gone wild baby!

Grabbed the following in Clifton NJ yesterday:
Little Children
Dreamcatcher
The Jacket
All $3 - all slashed.
What I want are The Exorcist and that Guys & Dolls SE (still haven't seen it).
Mostly tho, I'd love to grab the 007 titles. Where have those been showing up?

I've noticed several folks indicating they see the new display but aren't seeing the James Bond films. In the store I visited today, the newer display was one of the cardboard set-ups. The Bond films were in one of those 4 sided metal displays nearby (filled with DVDs/VHS/computer software, etc with the 007 titles taking up a whole lower shelf on one side. I almost didn't notice them since I was busy checking out the new stuff.

I addition to all the new titles my store had a bunch of Taking Lives (FS). I usualy don't buy full screens but I wanted to see the movie that the rare HD DVD version of sells for $500. I guess Angelina Joile is naked in it.

According to the BL I visit, the cashier (who was giving me a head's up) said the Bond films were supposed to be for the Nov. 30 ad.

We got the slashed DVDs but not the James Bond Movies.
Let's see if these DVDs sell at the same rate as the Sony's but tomorrow people will buy whatever crap they bump into, especially for $3.00 The titles are awesome but the damaged artwork sucks big time. Let's hope they get more undamaged Sony titles in the future.

Hell - I'm still waiting for Guys & Dolls and the Woody Allen boxes... I'm particularly looking for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (big "Avengers"/Rigg fan here).

Saw all the bond films today. Looks like they all came in as a refill box and not in a new display. I saw them filled up in the older cardboard stand ups and in the metal 4 ways. I passed them up for now but did pick up a few other titles....
2001 A space odyssey (kubrick collection)
East Of Eden
Infamous
Freddy Vs. Jason
Battle of the Bulge
THX 1138
Now looking for.......Rebel Without a Cause !

Hello All, Haven't posted in ages, but still watch the bargains forum. Anyway, I have a sealed Guys and Dolls, a sealed Dark Crystal Collector's Edition and a sealed A River Runs Through It if anyone is interested. The one I have been looking for is the Fox in a Box set, never did see it. I have other discs I would be willing to trade, also. Anyway, my e-mail is [email protected] and my name is John E. Thompson Jr. I have been a Gold Trader for years, but like I said I haven't posted in a while.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I hit the jackpot today, well almost...
I have been dying to find Guys and Dolls, Giant Deluxe Edition and of course any of the Woody Allen sets but I think I did pretty well today. So good I shrieked in the store. My haul...Drumroll Please...
1) Rebel Without a Cause starring the late great Natalie Wood and some kid named James Dean. Well then there now.
2) Network 2 disc edition starring Faye Dunaway in her Oscar winning role. She is mad as Hell and not gonna use a wire hanger ANYMORE!
3)Philadelphia Story 2 disc edition Katharine Hepburn at her most beautiful and charming. My she was yar! (And with Cary and Oscar winning Jimmy at her side, it would have been criminal not to get 2 copies and give one to my sister for Christmas!)
5) North Country Charlize Theron getting gritty again. Still looks unbelievably gorgeous even as a blue collar worker fighting that pesky union like her cousin Norma Rae.
6)The Band Wagon Yeah, I hopped on it. 2 discs and everything. Now, That's Entertainment!
7)The Petrified Forest Bette Davis, playing a lovely, rare, ingenue role. Leslie Howard refused to make the film without the then unknown Humphrey Bogart. Bogart was so grateful that he ended up naming his daughter with Lauren Bacall, Leslie. Did you all know Leslie Howard was a war hero? Anyway, I digress...
8)On the Town New York, New York, who could ask for anything more?
9)Diner Because I am from MD, hon, and I have never seen this classic before. Heard it had great dialogue...
10)The Man with Two Brains. The pointy birds are pointy, pointy.
and because I got nostalgic watching Arthur the other day...
11) Like Father Like Son with Dudley Moore and Kirk Cameron. How bad could it possibly suck? Guess I will find out.
I suppose I could have waited till BF and gotten them for $2 but I could not take the chance that they would have been snapped up. It was worth the ten bucks not to have to wake up at an ungodly hour...
But out of curiosity's sake I will probably stroll in the store in the afternoon and see how much meat is left on the turkey, so to speak...
It is so cold in my area of Montgomery Village, MD that I saw Al Gore burning a tire...Love to all of you and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I wish Rebel & Network would have made it to Washington. I just watched Eat Of Eden last night for the first time & enjoyed it.

Still no Bond in SEKS, but I will look next week when I go to the movies. I did pick up Fox In A Box and if anyone is intersted in the bonus disc and Box itself drop my a line. I only wanted the 3 movies

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Is anyone going to BL today ??? I might, cause I'm going to be going right by it anyway. Maybe I can find those Bond titles that have been rumored about before the locusts swoop in and destroy everything.

If anyone picks up an extra Rebel, I'd be glad to trade East Of Eden or any other BL title that I have (I have lots of extras!).
