Just wondering if anybody has found a copy of The Pagemasger at Big Lots? Somebody on youtube claimed to have found it at Big Lots. Could anybody confirm this?

^ Found Pagemaster at BL a long time ago, I think it was $4. If you search the old thread it's in there somewhere.

Went by my small BigLots today - they had restocked some of the titles, still no boxsets except for Cracker series 3 which was a floater but I bought it anyway. They only had one. They had some Anime box sets with action figures priced at $10 that were never there before. Not being into those, I don't remember the names of any of them.

Sony:
Returner
Tiptoes

These titles go back to last year's Sony title mix at BL. I'd bet these two are stragglers at this particular store.

^Not stragglers, they were re-stock. I saw those at two different stores, so there's probably some more Sony stuff coming again. There was a strange mix of different studio stuff in the re-stock this week.
It was only 1 or 2 per title at most, so there wasn't much.

Big restock at my store today.

I picked up the following:

$3:
Far From Heaven
Talk Radio

$7:
Michael Moore DVD Collection (2-disc Bowling for Columbine, The Big One and 39 Cities in 23 Days featurette)
Species Trilogy (Species I-III and Bonus Disc)

$13:
Woody Allen Collection 5-pack (Alice, Another Woman, Crimes And Misdemeanors September, and Shadows And Fog)

$16:
Woody Allen Collection 6-pack (Broadway Danny Rose, Hannah And Her Sisters, A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy, The Purple Rose Of Cairo, Radio Days and Zelig.)

Hopefully, the 8-disc set (Annie Hall, Bananas,Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask), Interiors, Love and Deatj, Manhattan, Sleeper, and Stardust Memories.) will find its way to Big Lots for $20-$25!

I saw at least 4 copies of "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray today but they were all full screen. But, picked up a few more today at Big Lots, all $3.00 each unless otherwise noted-

Psycho(Anne Heche) and has the UPC cut that Basaro previously mentioned. The other DVD's below have ok UPC codes or will once the cellophane is removed which takes off a "blank" label stuck on it.

Blade Runner The Director's Cut (snapper case)

Hannah and Her Sisters (found it all alone on a wire rack in mint shape. cool)

Gosford Park (murder mystery, two thumbs up from Ebert & Roeper)

The Sabata Trilogy (Lee Van Cleef) 3 DVD box set for $7.00

Was looking over my Big Lots receipt and "Hannah and Her Sisters" with the bar code# of 550014260 has the description of "MGM DVD VIDEO WAVE 2". Is "Wave 2" the "old" wave or the start of a brand new wave?

That is one of the older waves of MGM before they got the new assortment bins. There was a series of UPC's for these: Wave 1 (...59) Wave 2 (...60) Wave 3 (...61).

I got my copy of Hannah from that assortment on April 22, with the same UPC you mentioned.

if this is any help.

I bought Shadows and Fog on July 31st and its code says:
DVD MGM 832 Piece Displa

I know its a different movie from a different box-set, but its still a Woody movie from MGM.

Haven't seen Hannah at all, most likely missed it from before June.

Perhaps 832 is the current 'wave'?

Tip Toes is a restock, I've seen them in different stores and they're new (You can always tell how long those DVDs have been there by their condition) Hopefully we will get Good Bye Lenin & Husbands and Wives again (yeah right!)

I saw a copy of Maxie with Glenn Close. I think that movie is out of print. I only saw one copy at one store.

My Leonard Maltin's guide is not thrilled with the Sabata Trilogy. I'm happy to get them for just 7 bucks total for my western fix. You can catch some online reviews here(and 2 of them are dvdtalk reviews)- Sabata Trilogy review links

Thanks for the info. I should go back and research the history thread but that would bug me on stuff I missed!

Has anyone seen anything new in the Fort Lauderdale area, since last months wave which included CQ, Shadows and Fog, Intermission, Yes Men, etc? I'd really like to get those Woody Allen boxed sets.

from my past experiences south florida is one of the last parts of the country to get from big lots, if there is anything left after they work thier way across the country. for some reason it seems to me like they start in south california and work thier way east. for the longest time, they were sending all of the junk here, like old vhs and stuff that noone wants.

About FT Lauderdale & S. Florida

If you are in North Broward, Coconut Creek has always gotten shipments first. (About 1 or 2 weeks after you see the titles here) They don't have the same schedule as the rest of Broward. Broward does get their stock before Miami.

If you are in S. Broward, Pines BLVD (Pines & University) has also a different schedule from the rest of FT Lauderdale. They get the shipments later, when the Miami BL get theirs (usually 3 or 4 weeks later than the rest of the country). Pines usually has a very nice selection but DVDs go very fast. They have way too many customers.

I don't think S. Florida get all the junk or the leftovers. It's just that some stores are better than others and demand in FT Lauderdale is higher than in other areas (Miami is better in that sense). I probably have seen every single title in here but sometimes it takes forever to get here. If you go Tamarac you should try another store if possible. Tamarac is THAT store full of VHS and PC crap nobody wants.

At my store, there were about 6 copies of each collection yesterday morning. I have no idea how many are there now, but I will find out later because of the following:

I opened up my copy of the Michael Moore DVD Collector's Set to find out that the version of Bowling for Columbine is the 1-disc edition, not the 2-disc as shown and stated on the box. Hopefully, there are copies left when I go back later.
