Oddly BN has raised the price of the David Attenborough narrated BR of "Life" to 30% off or $49 before discounts. You can still get the Oprah BR of "Life " for 40% off. Glad iI ordered David Attenborough version yesterday.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

The B2G1F is coming soon. Here are the details I ran across today. I would expect the Criterion sale will follow a week after it ends on July 6.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/email/...?r=1&PID=34156

Buy 2 DVDs, Get 3rd FREE Offer Details:
This offer ends July 6, 2010 at 2:59 EST am while supplies last. Choose 3 qualifying DVDs or Blu-ray discs and the least expensive DVD or Blu-ray disc is yours FREE! Simply look for the "Buy 2, Get the 3rd FREE DVD & Blu-ray" icon on select DVDs or Blu-ray discs online at bn.com.

When you purchase three (3) or more DVDs or Blu-ray discs with the FREE DVD & BLU-RAY OFFER icon, you get the least expensive DVD or Blu-ray disc free. Your credit for the least expensive DVD or disc will appear at Checkout. This offer can be redeemed once per customer only at BN.com. This offer may not be combined with any other coupon or any discount promotion. Shipping charges may also apply.

This offer is not redeemable for cash, cash equivalents, Gift Cards or online Gift Certificates and is not valid on past purchases or purchases made from third parties accessible from the www.bn.com web site (e.g., used books, PC and video games, etc.). This offer is subject to change or discontinuation without notice; we will, however, honor properly placed orders with valid methods of payment placed prior to such change or discontinuation. Barnes & Noble.com is not responsible for typographical or pictorial errors. This offer is also valid at Barnes & Noble retail bookstores with a Music/DVD Department. Please visit your local Barnes & Noble retail bookstore for details of that offer. This offer is not valid at Barnes & Noble College retail bookstores.

Returns or cancellations that affect the minimum number of items purchased may result in a charge for the item of lesser value originally received as free. You will be responsible to pay any such adjustments; we reserve the right to charge your credit, debit or Gift Card in the amount of such adjustments and will notify you via e-mail of such charge or debit. Void where prohibited by law.

Just ordered The Man With No Name Trilogy in BR for under $30 plus tax. Again used GSA link and new account coupon.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Hmm.... When I go in to order through the GSA link it no longer asks me whether the purchase is Personal or Tax Exempt before creating an account. It automatically treats the order as Tax Exempt and then asks what govt. organization I work for when checking out... Anyone else seeing this? Maybe they're changing it now that this deal leaked to SlickDeals and blew up a couple days ago...

I've had that happen. I found if I delete all B&N cookies and log in again that will get rid of it.

Use the NASA link instead... I don't think they have a tax exempt option.

BTW, I noticed the GSA link now says in large bright red lettering:
*This site is for government purchasing only.

I don't think that was there before. I think they realize that people just abused the shit out of their coupon...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It looks like they did kill it. I see they created a mandatory box to fill out what government organization you belong to now during checkout. No more personal purchases. Even deleting cookies is not going to get rid of it.

I wonder what would happen if you just put "NONE" in the box.

I tried to use the NASA site, but it wasn't giving me free shipping no matter what I ordered.

God bless SlickDeals. I probably shouldn't complain though cause I've gotten in on tons of good deals through SlickDeals. I'm just pissed they killed this one.

^
Not seeing free shipping at NASA even though it still says free shipping on the home page. Not sure if it is temporary or permanent. However free shipping is still available at Boeing and the military.com links when I checked a short time ago.

Didn't realize that, sorry. I did get free shipping on my order, but it was a $30 item, so that's why...

Just found out that Bing is suspending the cashback program at the end of July. The deals are disappearing pretty fast now.

If we all would have gone through bing for BN's normal 10%, rather than the instant 11% at GSA, this clearly never would have happened.

Bing has been only 8% for some time.

The Military link now asks for military affiliation at checkout. You have to select from a drop-down box. I'm not going to try to get away with lying, but if anybody does, let us know how it works out for you.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

A question regarding the B2G1 sale, which I have not purchased from previously: does the stipulation "This offer may not be combined with any other coupon or any discount promotion" mean that the promotion will not work if you go through a bookstore link or AAA.com?

I just looked with my account and did not see it. However I've seen it occasionally in the past and just picked a selection from the list. I had no problems completing the order after. You can also try deleting all B&N cookies to see if it will make it go away if you do not want to make a selection. Most likely when you log in it will be gone.

Past B2G1F sales you were able to use the bookstore links and coupons. Hopefully it won't change for this sale. I ran a test with the current B2G1F paperback sale a few days ago and at least it seemed to work. I didn't try a coupon but did see discounts applied to 2 books and credit for a free book in my cart. I think it is a good sign for the DVD sale. However will have to wait until the sale starts to confirm it.

^ Ditto. I also ordered Life (with the new member code, after my previous order with gsa1020 was canceled) and it had an expected ship date around 6/23. It just shipped.

What is the GSA site/coupon everyone is referring to? I couldn't find anything about it on page one of this thread.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you have a problem with your order using a coupon may cause you more issues.

I had several issues with BN when I double dipped last time. One issue is that they will claim you cant use a coupon on the purchase even though their system allows it. What they did to me was cancel the free item and just try to give me the 2 at the coupon price.

It will likely not be an issue unless the one of your items is backordered which apparantley triggers them to review the order. But after the sale starts, they tend to have a lot of backorders in my experience.

I removed it from the list on the first page because the link now states it is for Government orders only. B&N changed it soon after all the orders were placed on Monday with 20% GSA coupon that was supposed to expire the previous evening. You probably can thank slick deals and fatwallet for killing it.

I had a similar experience when I ordered 2 CDs during the last B2G1F DVD sale, but the sale was not the problem. One was canceled because they said it was no longer available but the other CD in stock shipped. Lost the coupon and got hit with a shipping charge because the order total didn't qualify for free shipping anymore. A few days later the CD that was no longer available was up for order again. Customer service was no help and I was forced to return the other CD because it was costing me more money than when I originally placed the order. Adding insult to injury when they issued the refund I got stuck paying the shipping charge that was added to the order. Fortunately I was able to get it removed when I called customer service and explained how they botched my order forcing me to return it.

Great price on the 2 disc Tom and Jerry: the Chuck Jones Collection as the deal of the day. Currently only $8.09 before any other discounts.

So is the best deal right now on one item the NASA link plus one of the 15% off coupons?

I guess NASA would be the best link if your order qualifies for free shipping and can get a coupon to work.
