HUGE reason. If you claim to be tax exempt, they will put your order on hold until you send them proof that you are tax exempt... I don't think that has anything to do with the coupon. It is the GSA link which prompts it...

Is BN going the route of Borders and inflating the list prices of items. The preorder for Hawaii Five o 1-9 is $289.99 list at BN and $219.99 at Walmart.com

Wow great deal! I paid more than that for it used (and haven't watched it yet )

As an update to my earlier saga, the set I said I was able to cancel, apparently they changed their mind and sent me an email saying as much. Oh well, I think I can return them to the store at least.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It is pretty obvious to me that their doing away with member discounts was just a stealth way to raise prices. Hawaii Five O season 9 is preorder 14% off. They are advertising all preorders get an additional 5% off. Doing the math under the old member program that would have been 15%. I know it is just 1% but just saying.....

Pre-orders are usually not a good deal at B&N, especially since you can't use coupons on pre-orders. It is their sales which make for good deals. I rarely pre-order from them...

Very tempting but I'm going to wait until the Criterion sale in July. Just unloaded my Warner copy to make room for the Criterion version on Blu-ray. I'm looking forward to getting this and can hardly wait.

The complete series of West Wing is the current deal of the day for $109.99. The GSA link and 20% coupon should drop it to $78.31 before sales tax.

Thanks. I went ahead and did it. I don't have a physical store too close to me. I'll keep biting at the new released for $17.xx as long as they do it. C'mon, Walkabout!

Is the $17.08 a pre-tax price?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Was about to post that the military link has 10% off May 26-27, but as usual, Lasermovies beat me to it. He's too fast for me! The GSA link is still better, of course, but perhaps some readers are in the military and would prefer to be legit...

The military bookstore link will be 10% off for 2 days (May 26 & 27).

edit: You're both too fast for me.

10% off and free shipping is not too bad. Also there are four new 15% online coupons that should get activated around the 27th.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Nothing new to add, just wanted to give my thanks again to LASERMOVIES for keeping the first post in this thread current and useful. I turn to it every month to add titles to my Loeb Classical Library collection.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for the GSA information. I got Doctor Zhivago BD for $15.36 plus tax.
It will probably be cheaper by Christmas time but I decided not to wait. I'll just complain when it happens.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I have not seen anything yet but wonder if the next B2G1F sale is going to start next week. They usually have a second one in June. Hopefully some information will show up in the next couple of days about it. Could be some great deals if it starts online Monday and it overlaps with the current sales.

That seems to be pretty much confirmed. We have a thread here just for it, 'criterion sale, ever again?'.

I've heard July from employees in two different B&Ns.
