Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Finally got it to work--here's what I did. In firefox I was logged in with the stuff and coupon in my cart. I emptied my cart (left the coupon in my cart). In IE, without being logged in, I added the stuff to my cart--where I saw the 15% being taken off--then I picked to check out, logged in and it applied the coupon on top of the 15% correctly, and I completed the checkout.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Now it is working for me. I didn't do anything but check the items in my cart again and it is finally deducting the 15% off. I'm using firefox. Not sure if it was ever a IE or firefox related issue since I never changed browsers. However if this promotion was like this for a lot of people they should at least extend it for another day to make up for all the trouble and headaches it has caused.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It wont let me add a coupon with it. Am I the only one having trouble? The coupon works until I try for the buy 2 get 1 sale.

I had problems using a coupon if the highest price item was a preorder (even though it was part of the buy 2 get 1 sale.

Has anyone been able to figure out how to use the bn/library with bing? Otherwise normal bn + bing is still cheaper...

How is it cheaper? Today we are getting 15% off immediately....as opposed to waiting weeks and weeks for 10% off.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

My mistake -- it's still cheaper for those with a membership to do bn + bing (cost of money is negligible right now, unfortunately). Certainly for those without a membership, this is a much better deal.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thankfully they didn't end this at 11:59EST. They started late, so I guess they are ending it late. I just got 2 orders through with the 20% off coupon. It didn't want to accept the coupon on my 2nd order even though I was starting a new account. I had to start over in another browser before I got it to go through.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Check your email from paypal about bill me later with a 25 dollar coupon good on a purchase at bn.com if you pay with paypal and bill me later. Its good at other merchants as well. I just used the 20 percent off coupon and library ten percent link plus got 25 dollars from paypal and bill me later.
Seemed like a good deal with all the discounts. Paypal deal is good at bn.com and some other merchants until 1/30. Supposedly you needed to receive email but when I checked out with paypal and bill me later there was a note about 25 off and 90 days to pay. Evidently paypal bought bill me later. 25 dollars will be emroved from statement in a few weeks.

I received a similar offer in my email a few days ago from Paypal but it was for only $10 for using bill me later. Looks like these offers are valid only to the Paypal accounts that receive the offer in their email. You don't need to use any special links to activate it but have to use Paypal as your payment method during checkout to receive the credit. I received another $10 offer in December and used it at B&N.com. Still waiting to receive the credit on my account. The fine print indicates it can take 1 to 2 billing cycles for it to appear.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks LASERMOVIES for your constant updates.

I was able to use the $5off coupon, the 15% coupon, and the $5off50 all on the same receipt to score 3 blu-rays for about $17 bucks. That's not a bad deal at all for me.

FYI, I got The Hurt Locker, South Pacific, and This is Spinal Tap.

I don't know if there is any interest in eBooks? There are some available for free at B&N.com. You can download different eReaders here.

Here is the list of the free eBooks.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Ok, just got my first screwing over by Barnes and Noble. One of my items was discontinued and just conveniently happened to be the free item and they basically said I am shit out of luck since they did not charge me for the "free" item, they could not give me any money back.

That is obviously a lie since the packing slip shows a pro rated amount. They could have easily just refunded the difference.

One additional note for everyone. She told me that I was not supposed to be able to use the 15% coupon off on the b2g1 deal. She was attempting to make me feel good that they took 15% off the one item. Told her sorry I am returning the order, I felt I was ripped off.

So sue me for posting in the wrong forum.

If customer service is unwilling to offer any compensation for your trouble they deserve to lose the sale. It wasn't your fault the item was discontinued. If you were not allowed to use the coupon then why did the web site let it go through. That doesn't make any sense. There is nothing in the fine print saying coupons are not valid with any of their sales.

That's the negative with shopping at BN. Most of the time everything's fine but one in a blue moon this happens. Every other store would fix it but BN.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Looks like today it's my turn to get screwed over by B&N. I ordered a couple of things Sunday and this afternoon receive an email saying one of the items was no longer available and they would have to cancel that part of the order. However when I checked the web site it is still available to order and appears it is in stock.

What is really pissing me off is now the remaining portion of the order cannot be canceled, no longer qualifies for free shipping, and the coupon I used was lost since the canceled item had the coupon discount applied to it. At first I thought I still could cancel the order but apparently not. After I tried to cancel a few minutes later I received an email claiming the order was entering the shipping phase.

I have not called customer service but have a feeling it probably is a waste of time. Now I have to wait for the order to arrive so I can send it back for a refund. Definitely not happy about this mess. Thanks B&N!

You guys are getting me worried--I got a message that my MI-5 Vol 7 has been delayed due to a change in the release date (which is a lie because it is in stock in their stores and says ships in 24 hours on the web page)--of course it was my free item and now I fear they are going to try to cancel it.

I can totally relate. Pretty much the same thing that happened to me a few weeks ago... Was it also part of a B2G1F that no longer qualifies since you aren't buying 3?

You might be okay, as long as it doesn't say it is delayed more than 30 days. If it is more than 30 days, or they say it is no longer available, that is when you get screwed...

My order did not have any DVDs and was not part of the B2G1F sale. So I did not lose a free DVD with the cancellation.
