Looks like they are having a 40% off sale on "Hot New Releases" blu and otherwise. I am seeing a few Criterion Blu-Ray releases listed at 40% off...Brazil, Purple Noon, The Qatsi Trilogy, Following. All new releases, it seems. Hmmm, hope the sale is expanded to include more releases.

Too bad they shipped my Qatsi set on Monday, although I suppose I could return it in store and rebuy it with my member's 20% off coupon.

I was in my local B&N store tonight and the media clerk (who has given me reliable info in the past) confirmed that the general 40% off ALL Blu-Ray titles begins next week.

This particular store only received two Qatsi sets (one DVD, one Blu), which seemed odd because it's one of their "Hot New Releases." Well, now they only have the one DVD set . During the last sale, the clerk who purchases their media stock told me that they were having a hard time getting sufficient Criterion stock from their supplier. Food for thought for those who remember a little store called Borders......

Nothing lasts forever, so enjoy it while it lasts. But to be fair, B&N rumors as to their DVD department have been out there ... probably three years now. How many 'Will this be the last Criterion 50 percent off sale at B&N' threads have we seen through the years?

The writing was on the wall at Borders when you saw the stock being thinned. To be fair, my local B&N stock is the exact same as five years ago ... same size department and everything is packed. But yeah, that could all change tomorrow or we could be having the same conversation in another five years.

I know it's sort of last minute notice but watch your emails for some new coupons. Looks like some more unique codes that will require receiving emails from B&N again. I think these are going to be store only coupons this week. The fine print doesn't mention anything about being valid at B&N.com.

I'm hoping they'll come out with a 20-25% Off code for non-members that I can use online, I have some paypal $$$ I can use to get a TV season I've had in my Wish List, but I want to maximize my savings. -kd5-

I went through my coupon stash and have a few extra 25% coupons to spare. At the moment I have 3 to give away. Maybe more later depending on how many I use at my local store. It is important to note coupons are valid only at B&N stores, and there are no online codes available. So don't request a coupon unless you intend to go to a store because they will not work online.

If anyone is interested please post in the thread and I'll send you a PM with a link for the coupon to print out. I would prefer to send these to forum members that generally don't receive coupons from B&N, and are definitely going to use them. Also ask that you are an established DVDtalker that has been registered for about a year, or has about 50 posts. I may make exceptions if you are close.

They expire December 16 (Sunday) at the close of business. The coupons minus barcodes are posted a few posts up that have all the fine print and details. I'll send you one.

i didn't get jack so if you have one i'd take it. I missed on the Qatsi trilogy and this looks like a great way to make it work as good if not better than the Criterion Sale.
