Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
^ ^ ^
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I lost my dad in 2000, Mom in 2005, Father-in-law in 2006, and now the last of my "parents". My wife was the baby of the family and was at home for about 10 years after her much older siblings left, so she was extremely close with both parents and spent more time in recent years with them than the others. She was the one who took Mother to her doctor's appointments, and we were the ones she called in the middle of the night if she was having problems. We were getting a room ready for Mother to come home & stay with us as long as needed when she took a turn for the worse Saturday night. She called me her son (her real son didn't want to have anything to do with his parents, to his shame) and we were very close. Still, she was prepared to go and looking forward to the next life when she could be free of the infirmities of old age and be rejoined with her loved ones. I had a friend who lost her dad in a motorcycle accident last fall, so things could be much harder. But you're right...we still miss our parents, which is a tribute to them. However, we do have so many good memories that outweigh the sorrow & often mention some of the funny things they said or did . Sorry for your past loss, Laser, and for any other DVDTalkers who have lost a parent/spouse/child/close friend. We wanted to have the funeral earlier, but the funeral home was slammed and her church was already committed to functions that had been planned for months. That means that we're now facing a possible snowstorm during the funeral and temperatures in the 20's tomorrow (with a wind chill in the teens with winds up to 20 miles per hour). We'll probably have the graveside "service" in the mausoleum as a result, especially due to the advanced age of her surviving siblings & other relatives. Anyway, appreciate the comments from the forum. Now I'm logging off to type up the bulletin (or whatever it's called) for the service. Having done this pretty much on our own three previous times, we've gotten pretty good at it & it has turned out well in the past. |

That's how I would like to think.. I hope yours bring you some peace and reminds you both of happier times together to treasure always. |

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Using the 20% Member Coupon I got Branded To Kill, Tokyo Drifter and Godzilla (preorder) for 64.94 total. That is a pretty good deal considering the same bundle would have costed me 86.89 on Amazon. Of course, living in Kentucky; I pay tax at Amazon unlike most people.
I assume you are allowed to do one preorder per B2G1 transaction? I tried to do two preorders and was unable to apply the 20% coupon. |

Yea, I'm in the same boat. I didn't know you had to "claim" the code at first, but did so after checking the site. I believe it said it would take 2 weeks to arrive.

You can do 2 preorders and 1 non preorder and still use the coupon/code, but you have to add them in the correct order. If you add the nonpreorder first, that's the one that will be free and the code can't be applied to the 2 pre-orders.
If I add 12 Angry Men to my cart either 2nd or 3rd then I can do 2 preorders and use the 20% code. |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Anyone have any in-stock online deal suggestions in the $20-$28 price range? I'm trying to find a 3rd title to go with my $23 and $24 pre-orders...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Not a member but for the non-member coupons only pre-orders work if they come out before B2G1F sale ends. Is this right? Is this how it is for the member coupon? Thanks!

EDIT: Wait, I guess that title is not in on the deal. Sorry. |

What kinds of things are you most interested in? The recently released Hitchock Presents Season 5 is 30.26. Because CDs are also B2G1, I've made a couple of purchases with movies and CDs to get prices as close as possible. |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
For some reason the upcoming Hitchcock Blu-rays from MGM aren't part of the sale. Figures, as they were the only three titles I was interested in that don't have ridiculously inflated prices.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Went to my local store, and there was a cashier working i had never seen before. The person before me asked to order something shipped to home, and she told him she had to ship it to the store. I prayed that another cashier would come, so waited around for 10 minutes. Thankfully, my favorite cashier showed up. I got Archer S2 BD, and pre-ordered Real Steel BD and Sliders S5 DVD, plus used a 20% off coupon and 15% off coupon, and got 10% member discount on both paid items, including the STH item. Total was $46 for all 3 items, so I was very pleased. I almost bought Archer S2 from amazon for $20, so it's like getting the other two items for $13 each. And I had a $50 GC, so nothing spent out of pocket. This was my only B2G1F purchase, and I don't plan to make any more. Spent enough lately. I'm done...

Here is a 20% off coupon which was texted to me. I do not know if it requires a membership, but my guess is no. I think it expires today. I got it on the 14th, and they said it was valid 3 days only. But I just tested it, and it still works. Sorry I didn't post it sooner. I assumed it was the same as the 20% off coupon which Laser had already posted, but now realize it is different:

Also watch your mail box for some new 20% coupons in the future if you have a B&N membership. Looks like about 4 different coupons were issued. Probably B&N will send these out in pairs to select members. Hopefully I can get all four codes for the first page when they start showing up.

I thought I found out about that on here, but perhaps it was on FW. Those are the only two sites I frequent... Note that it is affiliated with Visa, but the texts I receive do not mention requiring a Visa with the coupons... |
