They appear to have fixed all the online glitches. And that's both good and bad. I was able to place an order that had 2 movies and one CD and I received 50% off one movie and received the CD for free. I went looking for another CD to place an additional order but by the time I was ready they had fixed the glitch and only the CD was free.

It does not look like the B1 G1 at 50% is working yet. Anyone get that to work?

Indeed. They've removed the Buy 1 Get 1 for 50% off offers from the site completely. Who knows if they'll get it straightened out but, for now, all you can get is the B2G1 free.

Yes, looks like some new coupons are coming later this week. However I'm not sure what is going on with the 10% AAA coupon. The last one expired and there has not been a replacement for it. The AAA website mentioned there are some technical problems and there is no discount available at this time, so I have been unable to get a new coupon for the first page. Anyway look for some new 20% and 15% store and online coupons in a few days.

My Barnes and Noble membership lapses at the end of the month, and I don't think I'm going to renew.

I have a question though: If I preorder a couple things that come out in February now, will I be charged non-member prices when they ship?

^^Really? They'll just raise the price that you have on your order?

I doubt it since you'll already have the price locked in on your order.

There's no such thing as member or non-member prices on B&N.com. You no longer get an online discount with membership; you receive expedited shipping.
Even if you placed a ship to home in store you would not receive the discount as ship to home orders are the same as buying online as far as member discount is concerned.

I've been receiving -10% most items on top of the online price, -40% select new hardcovers, and free shipping. Whether I'd still receive free shipping on a preorder is my big question, but that extra -10% is nice.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Actually, the last few Ship-to-Home orders I placed in-store, I got the member discount. YMMV of course. I didn't ask for it, nor expected it. But on 3 different occasions, at 2 different stores, I received the member discount on STH orders.

Right -- I should clarify, I meant online orders. There's no b&m B&N near me.

Am I missing something? How are you getting the extra 10% off on online orders without a coupon or cashback?

Anyway if you place the order while still a member the free shipping should still apply to the order even if your membership runs out before it ships.

Sorry, I read that too quickly. You will most certainly not be charged non-member prices if you lock-in your order now, using a member coupon + free express shipping.

They're not very clear about showing it -- the total price on the receipt is just a couple dollars less than the list price. Maybe I'm getting an additional discount because I was one of the Borders holdover memberships...

Okay that explains it. I didn't realize the trial B&N memberships for former Border's customers they were getting the 10% discount. I looked it up and sure enough it is listed as a benefit.

That's odd. I have one of those memberships and I've never received the 10% off.

Good sleuthing. I thought I was going mad for a minute.

It's most, but not all items. I definitely get it on non-preorder books. I'm not sure about DVDs and other types of items.

Has the free shipping with mastercard code been yanked early? Doesn't seem to work and link doesn't show details anymore.

It's possible B&N may have decided to kill it early. I tested it with my Mastercard and it comes up as not eligible. I'll leave it up for a while just in case it does go live again.

New coupons are now out. With the exception of the bottom coupon without the barcode they are also added to the first page with some online codes.

Anybody find any exceptional deals? Especially ones that are still valid?

My mother-in-law passed away this week after a brief illness (she was 91 and a peach, but it wasn't totally unexpected) & we've been consumed with funeral details (just checking in here occasionally for stress relief), so obviously didn't have time to search for bargains. From past B2G1 sales, I know that you have to get in early before prices jump to ridiculous levels. Most of what I've found in doing specific searches & perusing the "bestseller" lists have been underwhelming...can get most cheaper elsewhere even after the BN discount.

The thing I hate most about this kind of sale is having to match up prices. It's not so bad when there are lots of items at good discounts, but when those start drying up, it gets hard to come up with 3 similarly-priced items that constitute a bargain. Congrats to anyone who got in before the inevitable price jumps.

Would appreciate any deals posted here since I don't have time to do much searching right now. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Laser! Not sure if there is anything I want right now, but I'll hunt around. My membership is expiring soon, so I want to make use of it. Probably a few ship-to-home orders with the 20% off coupon for sure... Sliders S5 is on my list for sure (to finally complete the series after all these years).

I probably won't renew again until an awesome sale or coupon comes around. I'll just lay low for awhile...

Sorry for your loss. I know what you're going through. January has become sort of a sad month for me since my father passed on a few days after New Years six years ago. I still think of him often but even more so this time of year. Wish you and the rest of your family the best during these sad times.

Sorry for your loss creekdipper... and sorry for your past loss, Laser. Losing loved ones is never easy, and certainly makes the holiday season less jolly...
