Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
The coupons are valued in the order LASERMOVIES posted them, lowest to highest.
--- I'm a Non-Member. So I printed out all of the coupons and went to Barnes & Noble. I used 501731 to see how much of a discount it gave. I wanted to get the John Lennon Box Set at 50% Off so I asked them to try that. When it only rang up at 10% Off I thought it was probably an indication that the 501731 coupon was the 10% Off one. But, this box set hasn't been eligible for coupons in the past when I tried them online, so I picked three DVDs priced at $19.99 each and had the cashier try them out; after the B2G1 Deal was applied, the coupon took off 10%, confirming my suspicion that 501731 was the 10% Off coupon. So, not wanting to pull out a wad of coupons, I thanked the cashier and left. I came back about 10 minutes later (about the time it takes me to walk to my Barnes & Noble) and explained to them that I checked my email and saw that there were actually several different coupons and asked them to try this 501691 instead. They were reluctant and seemed suspicious of me and tried to convince me that the DVDs and CDs were only eligible for 10% Off and the 50% Off (and other percentages) must be for other departments in the store. I asked them to try anyway, because there were 5 available coupons in numbered order and I figured the one I was now using would be the 50% one. They begrudingly agreed to try it on the John Lennon Box Set and, much to the cashier's surprise, it took 50% Off. So to sum that up for those who don't want to read it all... This coupon will work with the B2G1 Promotion. The Non-Member Coupon numbered 501691 is the 50% Off one. I imagine the last Member Coupon LASERMOVIES posted is the 50% Off one as well. Not sure if you can use multiple coupons together, didn't try that. |

The B2G1 sale is in stores as well and any coupon should work with the sale. At least, coupons have worked with the sale in the past.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I think this is how it would work. Let's suppose you got three DVDs, priced $10, $20, and $30.
When the cashier rings them up, it charges you for the $20 and $30 DVDs and registers the $10 as free. Right then your total is $50. Then the coupon is used and the 50% Off is applied to the $30, making it $15 and bringing your total to $35. Since Barnes & Nobles applies coupons after other eligible promotions, and the coupon applies to the highest priced item, it should work the way I described it above. |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
That's what I was hoping. That works out much better than the other way around.
dvd1 ($30 - $15) + dvd2 ($20) + dvd3 ($20) = $40 if they considered the 50% off dvd as the free one since it would now be the cheapest, but it would only be $35 in scenario you described above. Are all dvds and blu-rays B2G1 or is there a limited selection? |

I can verify that 501721 is 15% off for non-members as that is the one I got.

I have all the coupons organized and labeled on the first page. Click the spoiler to see the coupons. If there are any mistakes or errors let me know.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Don't the coupons say that they can't be combined with other discounts?
|
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
There are several movies out now that have Manufacturer's coupons available. Will B&N accept 1 store coupon and 1 manufacturers coupon like some stores will? Or will I have to use one or the other?

They do. Has anyone had success combining a coupon with the B2G1 sale? I'd hate to trudge all the way over in the snow for nothing.

Anyone try and slide a $5 off one DVD coupon on top of this deal? :D

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Anyone trying using the member AND non-member coupons in the same transaction? One coupon would be for one item, the other coupon would be for a 2nd item, and the 3rd item would be free! That's why I plan on trying tonight...
|
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
If that would work, in theory, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use two Member or Non-Member coupons on the same transaction. Technically speaking, they are all different individual coupons.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Here's what I did this afternoon:
I used my member discount, a 50% off coupon, a $5 off DVD coupon, the $5 off a $50 purchase coupon, and the B2G1 sale to get 3 Blu-rays: HBO's Generation Kill Criterion's Bottle Rocket Criterion's Robinson Crusoe on Mars for $54.78 plus tax. I considered trying both the member and non-member 50% off coupons but decided I would have better luck using all different coupons. |

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Just an FYI, I got an e-mail from BN (to a secondary address I use for BN, not my primary account) with this "mystery" discount coupon.
Code looks like the standard unique-style code BN has been sending out as of late, so it's tied to the recipient's e-mail address. (In my case, The online code and link to the in-store coupon were both the 20% one.) |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
thanks for the scans guys. used the 50% off one and snagged "Once upon a Time in Mexico" blu for $9.99. may go back and snag "Once Upon a Time in America" blu as well

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I got the email as well. They sent me the 15% one. Looks to be random, which is sort of lousy. Oh well, not like we needed the coupons sent to us since LASERMOVIES already posted them all well in advance, lol.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I submitted my member number and e-mail address at the link from Laser the day he posted it and -- surprise, surprise -- haven't received anything yet. Seriously, is it that difficult for B&N to send a coupon e-mail to every active member who has a legitimate e-mail address on file? What a bunch of morons.
