You're right. I've seldom needed to order online because there are multiple stores in my area and I'll only web order if there's a huge advantage. I'll pay more attention to all my options when I renew for the next sale.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Anyone else experiencing delayed orders? There's a thread in the Blu-ray bargains section about packages from B&N taking longer than usual to arrive. I had an order ship on December 8 with DHL SmartPost (which is standard mail) and it hasn't arrived yet. Clicking on the tracking number B&N sent me, I see:

I've had several delayed orders but it has been due mostly to running out of stock and waiting for new stock to arrive. After shipment I've gotten my orders within a reasonable amount of time. Fortunately most of my stuff was shipped by UPS. I did have a few orders go through Argix Direct, which was a little slower than UPS, but it was about a day slower overall. I found tracking information was virtually useless on those shipments. It didn't show up in the system until it was dropped off at the post office for final delivery.

BN.com usually delivers my DVD/BD orders via DHL smartpost. They take a really long time. Usually DHL delivers it to a certain point and hands it off to USPS and they do the rest. I'm not sure you're problem is that the order is delayed--it's just that smartpost takes a really freaking long time.

On your second point--contact bn customer service. I've had that happen to me once where they gave me a totally incorrect tracking number. I ended up calling customer service and they straightened it out for me.

My latest order was supposed to be here yesterday (that's what the expected shipping date said on usps website) if I'm lucky I'll get it before New Year's day.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

If my items get shipped through UPS (which they do 80-90% of the time), they're incredibly fast - usually 2 days. Sometimes, if I get a shipping notice in the morning, I've had them come next day.

The other times I get Argix Direct, which usually takes 4-5 days. Still faster than, say, Amazon's free shipping, but still disappointing next to UPS's speedy delivery. Also, online tracking with UPS is far more accurate and up-to-date compared to Argix.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

This arrived in my e-mail this morning:

A refund has been processed for the item(s) below. Credit has been issued to the original form of payment that you provided. If your method of payment was a credit card, that amount will be reflected on a future credit card billing statement.

Guess they're considering it lost by DHL? Shame, as I doubt I'll be able to get the items I ordered at a price that low for a good deal of time to come.

FYI a member in the Blu-ray forum posted that the Criterion BBS Story is 50% off online right now! $62.49 before any coupons or cash back programs.

Is the 50% off sale for this online only? There's a 25% off in-store coupon still available until 12/24.

See the first post of that thread...OP wasn't able to get store to match the online price. He/she ordered online with a 15% off coupon.

Seeing as this is B&N, I'm sure someone here will try and succeed at matching the price in-store.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

On the Criterion forum, a member suggested that by doing this:

It requires a bit of trickery, but you can actually. After you get the 7% off, open a new tab with bn.com and then on the checkout it will let you apply the voucher.
one could stack a B & N coupon on top of the discount provided by an alternate online storefront such as the Boeing store. I couldn't get it to work--has anyone or the is the Criterion forum member mistaken?

Current coupons can be found in original post on first page. The OP keeps updating all available coupons as he finds them.

I hope we get one more 15% coupon before the end of the year, so I can pick up the Bridge on the River Kwai Blu-ray for around $15. It looks like it's currently part of B & N's 50% off sale, which ends on 12/31. A good deal for anyone who hasn't used both existing 15% coupons.

Picked up the Astaire/Rogers complete box for $29.00 (using the 15% coupon). This is by far the cheapest I've ever seen it.

No, it's $20.99, but you get an additional 10% off for being a member.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

If you have a Mastercard might want to hold off on some of the current sales until later in the week. Looks like a pair of 25% coupons are coming for members and non-members.

http://cart2.barnesandnoble.com/shop...p?promoid=9133

25% Off 1 Item with Your MasterCard(R) Card Member Coupon Details:

For each valid and current Barnes & Noble Member account, this coupon can be redeemed once at any Barnes & Noble retail store and once per billing address online at BN.com. Your MasterCard card must be used for entire transaction for discount to apply.

This coupon is valid from December 30, 2010 to January 4, 2011 at 2:59 a.m. Eastern Time.

The additional 25% discount will be applied to the most expensive eligible item in the order - not the entire purchase - and will be deducted after all other eligible discounts, including (if applicable) the standard Member discount, are applied. MasterCard must be selected as method of payment for discount to apply.

Additional Rules Governing Use of this Coupon: This coupon is (i) not redeemable for cash or cash equivalents (including Gift Cards and eGift Cards); (ii) not valid on past purchases; (iii) not eligible for purchases of the following products and services: Barnes & Noble Memberships, Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, gift-wrapping, textbooks, video games, digital content (including but not limited to digital books, magazines, and periodicals), NOOK(TM) and related accessories, other hardware and electronics, software, products available for pre-order, products from the Rosetta Stone Series, products available for in-store ship-to-home orders, shipping or handling expenses, or products marked as not eligible for "coupons or promotional discounts;" (iv) not valid on purchases made from third parties accessible from the BN.com website (e.g., used books, PC and video games, etc.); (v) may not be combined with any other coupon; and (vi) may not be combined with the Educator program discount. This coupon is not valid at any Barnes & Noble College retail bookstores. This coupon is non-transferable and may not be reproduced, sold or bartered. Void where prohibited by law.

Thanks much. I have been holding off on a purchase hoping for this. I need it to use online because the discount in the store is 10% and it's 50% online.

I need the prices in the "Last-Minute DVD and Music Blowout" to stay until the 30th. It says it's till New Year's and I hope that's true.

BTW, that's for any MasterCard, right, not just the BN one?

I would assume it is for any credit and debit Mastercards.

There is no way to know for sure until the coupon is activated. From the coupon information given it says you must select Mastercard as the form of payment for the discount to apply, and a Mastercard card must be used for the entire transaction.
