$5.99 Universal HD-DVDs At Inetvideo
On an Amazon forum, I saw that Inetvideo.com (for U.S.) or Inetvideo.ca (for Canada) has over 100 Universal HD-DVD titles for $5.99 each.
Titles include Serenity, Casino, Dune, Children Of Men, The Deer Hunter, Fletch, Dawn Of The Dead, etc. (many of these have been on sale at Amazon before, but not this low).
They've apparently been bombarded with orders as a result of the postings on Amazon and other forums.
Their US website is currently down.
The Canadian website was also down for most of the day but is back up if you want to view the sale titles there.
This message appears if you try to access the US website:
"We are currently experiencing a technical issue that prevents iNetVideo.com customers from viewing our website. Engineers are actively engaged in resolving this matter. This technical issue is caused by the high traffic on our website due to our HD DVD SALE. Rest assured that all the orders are being shipped on time. If you need immediate assistance, please send an email to [email protected] or use our live chat.
For HD DVD Deals, you may also visit our eBay Store until the issue is resolved."
There are links in this message to an online customer service person and a link to their eBay Store.
Their Canadian website was also down for most of the day but is back up if you want to view the sale titles there.
The only catch to this deal is that shipping is apparently a bit high ($5.00 for the first DVD and $2.00 for each additional).
I've never dealt with Inetvideo before myself.
Has anybody here had experience buying from them before? [I see that they have an overall positive feedback rating (98.9%) on eBay, but there are a few negatives].

98.9% positive feedback on over 117K transactions is better than "generally positive" in my humble opinion.
Here is an example of one of the negatives,
"No response to multiple emails. Very poor. Product as described, good condition."
I don't think anyone has anything to be concerned over here.

You can also order via live chat since the site is always down. They will email you an order form, and you can also pay via paypal. Got one order that has already shipped, waiting for my second order to process. Customer service has been very good as well.

Live chat is down right now, too, but I might try this tomorrow. I went through all 11 pages of titles on the Canadian site, but the shipping is WAY too much to the US. Granted, I added 67 titles. But shipping was $171. At almost $3 a title, I'll pass on most of the titles I was thinking of buying. Maybe I'll still get some, but surely not all 67...

I wish a better selller had these prices. They have only a 96 percent approval rate on amazon. The prices arent available evidently int the amazon marketplace where the a to z guarantee is available.

Ah, what the hell, I ordered 13 from the Canadian side, and got dinged for about $36 shipping, so my average cost ended up being around $8.76. Even if I were to order through their US website, I might have saved $7 on the total order (shipping would have been around $29 for 13 titles), so I went for it.

Somebody on the AVS forum contacted the company and said
"The rep advised that they have acquired a very large inventory of Univesal titles and plan on being able to fill orders for quite some time.
He also advised that they plan on ADDING MORE TITLES to the list of available selections."
I asked if titles from other studios are in the works and was told that they are trying but not guaranteed yet."

The US Dollar is shit right now, Patman. You know that.
At least you didn't order from their UK site. Then you really would be in pain.

Thanks for catching that. I've corrected my original post. Now if you only hadn't have quoted me I could pretend that this never happened.

Why you would pull an ENTIRE website, just because you're getting more traffic.
If anything, after a certain amount of bandwidth and db queries are exhausted, you would get a white page, as happens naturally on 99.9% of the websites I've ordered from who had similar issues. But you don't pull the entire friggin' website. Do you?

The site's back up again, at least a temporary site for hd dvd sale. Bought 4 movies for average price of $8.73 each. Not bad. Too bad Children of Men was out of stock, would have bought the same. Heroes for $29 was tempting, but I think the shipping was close to $13 for this alone.

Last Starfighter HD-DVD
Mummy HD-DVD
Mummy Returns HD-DVD
Midnight Run HD-DVD

I'm pretty sure it will be media mail. They are not known for speed on amazon. They are even charging 1.75 for insurance which is what the post office charges. I still hope deepdiscount does a price cut on hd dvd soon. With shipping these prices are good but not stunning.
