Picked up the Sopranos for $140. They still had the $269 sticker on them. No Murnau/Borzage sets. I asked them to look it up and it's not even in the system. I'm hoping they'll have it later this week.

The Costco in Portchester NY had the massive Fox/MGM(UA) musical box set for $199.99 after a $130 instant rebate. Still expensive a good gift. I think though that people who would be interested in this probably have most of the movies included.
Disc 1: A Chorus Line (1985)
Disc 2: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (1966)
Disc 3: The Apple (1980)
Disc 4: Alexanders Ragtime Band (1938)
Disc 5: March of The Wooden Soldiers '34 AKA Babes in Toyland - stars Laurel and Hardy
Disc 6: Beach Blanket Bingo (1965)
Disc 7: Belle of the Yukon (1944)
Disc 8: Bloodhounds of Broadway '52
Disc 9: Call Me Madam (1953)
Disc 10: Carmen Jones (1954)
Disc 11: The Clambake (1967)
Disc 12: Daddy Long Legs (1955)
Disc 13: It's De-Lovely (2004)
Disc 14: Down Argentine Way (1940)
Disc 15: The Fantasticks (1995)
Disc 16: Flaming Star (1960)
Disc 17: Follow That Dream (1962)
Disc 18: Frankie and Johnny (1966)
Disc 19: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953)
Disc 20: Goldwyn Follies (1938)
Disc 21: Guys and Dolls Deluxe Edition (1955)
Disc 22: Hair (1979)
Disc 23: Hans Christian Anderson (1952)
Disc 24: Hallelujah, I'm A B u m (1933)
Disc 25: Hello Dolly (1969)
Disc 26: How To Succeed in Business (1967)
Disc 27: Kid Galahad (1962)
Disc 28: Kid Millions (1934)

Disc 41/42: Sound of Music 40th Anniversary Edition (1965)
Disc 43/44: South Pacific Collectors Edition (1958)
Disc 45: State Fair 60th Anniversary Edition
Disc 46/47: King and I 50th Anniversary Edition (1956)

I also saw the Complete I Love Lucy series set with a $30 instant rebate bring the price to $110 but it is currently cheaper at Amazon at about $100.

What's the final price after discount? If it only brings them down to $19.99 i think i'll hold off.

JorgeC - I think $19.99-ish is about what the cost would be for those. At least Indy 4, IRRC, is stickered at $27.++.

For the first 4, it was $20.49. For the others, I think it was 14.99-$16.99.

I picked up Iron Man. I may get Indy tomorrow, unless you know something I don't about it cheaper elsewhere?

no, nothing i know of cheaper elsewhere, I was just mentioning that if it ended up being $19.99, then i'd hold off. That's because $15 is currently my pricepoint on BDs unless there is an exclusive.

The way I see it, if its cheaper than the 2-disk DVD version, its worth it.

St. Louis, MO Costco members - has anyone seen the Murnau/Borzage set at the south county Costco? I don't want to make a special trip in the yucky weather if I don't have to. Thanks!

Could you provide some info as to how/where you saw that. I'd love to know if that is true for some of the others (like Deadwood) as I missed it when the ice storm took out our power for 5 days.

Thanks kefrank. I talked to their customer service desk, and was told they have a few on order, but don't know when or if they'll get them in. He said I could also get it online, but I couldn't find it there, either. Ah well, guess that's an extra $130+ dollars in my pocket. Can't complain about that aspect...

I guess they're having trouble moving these, due to the bad packaging warnings that are out there? You'd think most people who were interested wouldn't know about that sort of thing, and buy it anyway. I must say, if I were to get this, it is tempting to get it at Costco, because of their return policy.

Well I was at costco yesterday and saw the sign still up, I decided to check the date and it said 12/24/08. That's all the proof I have. If for some reason I make my way back there in the next day or so I will take a pic with my phone.

Darn. I saw them today at Costco (Norwalk, CT) but I can't remember the price.

Btw, I don't know how these big box sets are going to fly out the doors in this economy. If it's not a 'must-have now' item for you you might wait it out. The price might drop like a rock after Christmas. That or smaller sets offered like they did with Ford At Fox collection.

Murnau/Borzage Fox Box $179.99 less $60 = $119.99 plus tax

The Complete Charmed Series set $159.99 less $30 = $129.99.

No Murnau/Borzage sets at the Lancaster or Harrisburg PA stores either. Not that they've sold, but they just haven't gotten them in, and the Lancaster store said they had no info on whether they'd have any at all.

As for Dr. Syn, they had five of them at Lancaster. I was tempted to buy some & eBay 'em, but stifled my greed in honor of the season and left them for folks who really want them (I got my own copy the first week it came out).

Since we're getting down to the wire on the sale, if the Murnau/Borzage set appears in the next few days at a store where it previously wasn't, please post it.

Thanks - still holding out...
