Is the BD of Revenge worth getting?

Orbi-Wan Techno 12-10-07 06:05 PM

Casino Royale, A Knight's Tale, The Fifth Element, and 20 Million Miles to Earth, for $45.00. Thanks!

I had trouble getting Life of Brian and Road Warrior give me one free - probably LOB due to the pre order status - but I called customer service and they are crediting it back on their end so all is well.
Customer service was quite easy to work with BTW - I got a real person (granted probably somewhere in India from the sound of the accent) - in less than 1 minute, and everything fixed in about 5 minutes - so no complaints here.

Yes. The transfer is top notch.

DVDRunner 12-10-07 08:55 PM

so the third season of Rescue Me is up on Amazon's B1G1 list now... (well maybe I just read over it earlier today, but either way, it's there and that's surprising to me)

do you think that any other tv shows might show up?

jiggyblau 12-10-07 09:06 PM

In for Donnie Brasco and A Christmas Story for 10 bucks each.

Ianscloset 12-11-07 12:35 AM

I am broke... but still picked up Black Hawk Down and Big Fish for $17.95 (no tax and free 2-Day shipping). I will be using the UPC codes and Receipt from my purchase to get a free movie (Casino Royale) in the mail with the "Sony Buy 2, Get 1 Free" mail-in offer... so 3 Blu-rays for $20.95 ($2.99 for shipping on the Sony Deal) is not too shabby... Thanks OP.

Don't forget to save additional $5 from the BOGO deal :)

Save $5.00 when you spend $50 or more on DVDs at Amazon (must be sold by Amazon, not third party) and use your Amazon VISA. Enter promotional code DVDSAVE5 at checkout.

Place your order on or before February 7, 2008. Limit one offer per customer.

This is good for DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu-Ray.

rkndkn 12-11-07 02:28 AM

The BOGO has ended.

Now there's a box that says "Can you believe it? Get these select Blu-ray titles for the super-low price of $14 during this sale." with a picture of Terminator 2, but it doesn't link you to a listing yet -- just Terminator 2.

Damn. I was left with Identity and Underworld (1) in my cart. I was gonna go back tonight and find some more... oh well... that extra 10% off was really killing me... (I'm not sure when it ends for me... but soon!)

hellmutt 12-11-07 04:20 AM

A few prices have fallen since the sale ended. I got $2.50 refund on Blood Diamond and Alexander.

Dimsdale 12-11-07 09:03 AM

Bad as it sounds, I'm glad the sale is over. I'm too weak to resist a bargain and my bank account is seriously hurting at this point. Plus, the UPS guy is starting to hate me. It looks like a mini Amazon warehouse around here.

el_do33 12-11-07 11:34 AM

no kidding...Amazon sale on BD has been killing my CC. I only had my PS3 for 6 weeks and my collection already up to 50 titles, about 45 of it is from B1G1 from amazon.

just bought like 10 titles from the sale yesterday... hehehe...must resists future sales

hellmutt 12-11-07 06:58 PM

These seem to be the current titles to request a $2.46 refund on:

Blood Diamond
Unforgiven
Swordfish
Last Samurai
Full Metal Jacket
Alexander, Revisited

DarthScooby 12-12-07 03:17 AM

I did an order for Alexander and another 19.95 title. With the b1g1.

If I call for a refund on Alexander because it's now 17.49 will this then make that one the free one and I'll still be paying 19.95 anyway since it's the lowest selling price that's free.

Or will they just take off the difference off the total. (the -3.99 is the Amazon 10% off on any hi def purchases)

Item(s) Subtotal: $39.90
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Promotional Certificate: -$3.99
Promotion Applied: -$19.95
-----
Total Before Tax: $15.96
Estimated Tax: $0.00
-----
Grand Total: $15.96

They will either:

A: Give you $2.46 refund on your credit card
B: Tell you that the low price guarantee is not valid on Buy One Get One

In about 10 tries I've always had the positive A.

Although, it's sad when you consider that earlier today Warner Bros announced that it was going HD-exclusive and because of that Blu-ray should die off by mid-2008.

Where did you get this? I can find no mention of any such announcement.

IMHO, I'd prefer to have the format wars going on forever and that way there will always be a sale in prices for both BD and HD. OTherwise if either one becomes the only format, we will prob won't see as many sales and discount like we do now. That's just how I see it.

I dont' think that's true...look how low DVD's have gone in price....and i'm sure that HD movies have played a huge part....now when the next latest & greatest thing comes out, than HD will drop, though lord knows what that will be.
