This works at ANY store you can get a cashier to enter "02" to activate the promotion when they ring em up. It is YMMV by cashier, not by store... I'm sure every store has a cashier that would do it. It's just a matter of finding the right cashier... Unfortunately they aren't like Best Buy. They have few cashiers...

A little up the road, but I scored at the Milford location(a strip plaza next to Barnes and Noble).

The NYC location I scouted was wiped out except for The Transformers which was available in bulk.

First attempt for me was a no-go. Tried Transformers + Knocked Up, then Transformers + Day After Tomorrow at CS and was told it wouldn't work. Asked them to punch "option 2", she said that would make it work, but it's an override and she'd get into trouble. They got the list of honored titles and gave me a copy. I said thanks. Then I picked up one of those titles, "Bridge to Terabethia", and kept the Transformers HD-DVD (feigning partial ignorance), went to a check out line and THAT worked. Thanks, OP.

Since I was checking out 6-8 each time, I simply said "I think some of those are part of that Blu Ray promotion." The first transaction was kind of awkward, he told me a total of $162, I asked him if he could check to see if any of my purchases were part of the promotion (thinking he would hit something on the checkout) instead he got the list, but I think he finally hit something else because after he got the list (none of them were on it) It came back $80 something instead. Second transaction with a different cashier simply mentioning the promotion got me the discount

CC manager gave me the "sorry, those disks aren't on sale" line with a big grin on his face after the clerk called him over. Ugh, CC - worst retailer ever.

I was going to pick up Transformers x2 last night, but I went inot Circuit City at like 8:30pm last night and the line was wrapped around the store....the employees are god-awful slow at that store, so I put the HD-DVD's down and left. I had enough that day...

I may try today if it is still working, but not a big issue to me.

I saw the Reaping on HD-DVD only. I was looking for the MOH and Return to House on Haunted Hill, but they were nowhere to be found.

I scored Transformers and Troy: DC for $29.15 yesterday afternoon with zero problems at the CC by me. Hooray for deals!

It worked for me at the Meriden store on Monday night. I ended up getting Casino Royale BD (last one) and the Departed BD.

I don't know about it working for the HD titles.

A couple of people on AVS have reported no luck today (with no-one reporting success yet), so I fear this may have been corrected nationally overnight. That would suck as I was planning another run today for everything I forgot to grab yesterday. If dead though, this was fun while it lasted.

I assume you guys mean HD is dead. It should still work on BD, shouldn't it? I thought that was advertised... It seems pretty much every store has B1G1F on BD this week. Even FYE and B&N!

^

The BD sale at all of the stores this week is limited to Disney titles though, not all BD titles. I have a bad feeling that CC smelled the coffee yesterday after all of the Transformers DVDs headed out the door for $15.

True, I was only focusing on HD-DVD. Not sure about BD.

Yep deal is dead now on all fronts. They have a list of BRs that its good on posted at the BR section and at the registers. I looked it over and it appears to be a combo of all Sony and Disney titles. I would say the list was at least 50 or 60 titles long.

Hey this was great while it lasted. It broke me anyway so I am kinda glad its over, LOL!

Now I just need an inexpensive BR player (yeah right .. they don't exist)

Enjoy your bargains everyone!!

Greg

I can also confirm. Went at lunch. The party's over. The guy was aware that it was working on HD though and was puzzled why it wasn't working today. He called the manager who also didn't know what was up. Their final decision? Whatever the computer says, goes.

Damn. I couldn't make it the past couple days and only wanted one flick. Oh well.
