Oh, what the hell. Guess I'll pop the shrinkwrap.... Nope. No "Second Pressing" text on the disc. Guess I get to deal with their customer service too.
Maybe I'll go ahead and watch it first, then call Criterion to get the disc replaced.

Criterion has a good reputation for exchanging stuff quickly - I got an email response containing the mailing address within an hour of emailing them. Others have reportedly had very fast turnaround time.
The only shady thing is that there is no mention of this defective disc on the "Known Problems" section of the website. It's not the kind of error that you would notice if you hadn't seen the movie before, so Criterion is probably hoping that most people will never realize they have a bad disc. Also, you've got to pay to ship the disc to them. It's only $1 or whatever, but still...they should pay for their screw-up.

Criterion is not replacing the case packaging- no new artwork with corrected printing info for my exchange; only the disc was swapped.

Got both of my orders today. Weird how one shipped two days earlier than the other yet they both arrived at the same time. Looks like I'll have to send Jigoku in but that's okay, I've seen it already and have plenty of other things to watch.

I got my shipping notice back on 9/25, but it's stuck in "Carrier notified to pick up package" status for the past week. Does this mean the post office has definitely not picked up the package, or could they have forgotten to scan it?
Last time something like this happened, I e-mailed CS and they told me I still had to wait until the estimated arrival date before they could re-send the package.

Recieved A Woman Ascends the Stairs, Border Radio, and Monsters & Madmen on my doorstep today and later when I remembered to check the mail I noticed that St. Francis was in there. Thanks Amazon!
