Shipping notifications for Border Radio and The Flowers of St. Francis. Still waiting on Monsters and Madmen.

I received both Equinox and Monsters/Madmen last night. Both were priced correctly. Still waiting on Jigoku which is enroute but was as close as Cincinnati yesterday morning.

All of my items were shipped using the Free Super Saver Shipping. That's damn fast for the free shipping, IMO.

I paid for Standard Shipping, and so far, I've received bupkes.

Got my notice of shipping. They broke my order into two shipments and the second one shipped yesterday. Thanks OP.

Couldn't resist and ordered pretty much all the heavy discount titles, and got the assorted shipping notices last night.

There might have been other reasons for the cheap JIGOKU. I got mine today and it's the defective first pressing. Ugh!

EDIT: Here's what to do if you get the first pressing. If you get a corrected one, it'll say "SECOND PRESSING" on the disc itself.

My other order (La Dolce Vita and The Stephen King Collection) arrived today, but the Criterions are stuck at "Shipping Soon."

Got my shipping notice today for Monsters and Madmen.

Damn, that sucks about Jigoku, hopefully I get the second pressing.

Monsters & Madmen and Border Radio showed up today. Ordered very late in the game. Still waiting for Flowers of St. Francis to ship.

And still wishing I had been able to order Jigoku and Green for Danger.

It looks like I got the first pressing of Jigoku and the entire run is missing 2 min. 8 sec. of footage. Now to deal with the swap.

For those receiving a copy: the pressing info is shown on the back of the case, right edge and just above the red C Criterion logo.

Wow, finally got a shipping notice today. Easily the longest it's ever taken Amazon to ship something to me.

Oh well, at that price I can't really complain.

Wow I got Jigoku when it came out and haven't watched nor ever knew about the issue. I guess I'll be checking my copy.

Ha ha, same. Mine's definitely a first pressing since I pre-ordered it. I guess that just shows how backlogged I am! All three of my Criterions shipped (and all separately): Border Radio, The Flowers of St. Francis, and just got the shipping confirmation for Monsters and Madmen. Thanks, OP & others!

Try it now. It looks like there was a problem with DVDAF. I think it is fixed now.

Finally got my shipping notice. Even though I still got a great deal, I'm still a little steamed that paying for shipping makes the order come slower than free shipping orders. However, even with the extra $3.97, I got a hell of a deal.

Got my copy of Madmen and Monsters for 28.80 shipped. Shipping confirmation came yesterday.

Received my copies this afternoon....billed the same amount as the sale/mistake price. Yipee!

I think the Jigoku problem is going to blemish Criterion's reputation. Mind you, the missing footage isn't all that critical to following the story, but I think they should have instituted a recall of at least the unsold copies. It looks to me as if they have made a small second pressing, with a limited ability to exchange for first pressings. May have been a small first pressing also but it's likely to make the second pressing even more of a collector's item. Is there anyway to check on press run counts?

This is not the first occasion that they have had a minor error on a disc (Rififi, Playtime, Dead Ringers, The Magic Flute, The Last Temptation of Christ, Spellbound, etc.) Each time they have initiated a second printing and made it easy for customers to exchange the discs. Those incidents did not have any noticeable impact on their reputation. They are a very responsive company and easy to contact.
