Thanks OP.

Looks like when I go out on Sunday morning I'll get a price adjustment for The Doors. Paid $6.99 the beginning of this month. It may only be $3, but it's something...

Thanks for the warning. I'll have to reconsider.

All the Doors I've seen have the slipcover under the shrinkwrap, so I think that's a good bet. I'll be getting one myself.
Not positive about YG though, but I don't think I've seen one lately without a slipcover, even though it's been out for quite a while now.

I try to never use them on an item that I have any chance of returning or adjusting. (Not blaming you, because anyone would have thought 6.99 was the best price it would be for awhile. Just saying that I try....)
i concur. anything you might even remotely consider returning, dont even think about using rz certs on! period!

So....you live at BB then? It is 40 miles north, and south of you?

And yes, online is usually the same price/deals.

Definitely not, most likely. As of now, no HD or BR release has had a bonus disc. But often, the content from the bonus discs are on the HD releases already.

I'm sure that some of them will turn up on ebay.

That's the thing. I am not returning it but just pricematching a previous purchase to the new sale price. Anyone done that before when they used a RZ certificate?

I thought I already replied? Yes, it will work. But it is a royal pain and you will need a very intelligent employee or manager to fudge the computer and make it work. I've seen them make you return everything on the receipt, cancel/re-issue the RZ, and rebuy everything.

It is often a huge pain.

But you could get lucky and have someone see the simplicity of just doing the simple 110% math, and refunding you the difference on a simple 1 for 1 exchange. But they usually do it the hard way.

Got it. Thanks Trevor. My BB is very by the book so I figure this will likely be a big pain in the ass. I might just go ahead & return it and exchange it for something else this week and then just buy it next week. An extra 30 cents is not worth the major effort it will likely take on the pricematch.

I wonder if you exchange something if they will apply the exsiting RZ credit or if you don't get the credit at all and they just send the RZ points back to your account? Ugh.

Just noticed you're from Birmingham. I lived there when I went to pre-kindergarten. Does the devil still live in the sewers near the elementary school? (Pretty much my only memory of Birmingham was a fear of walking over the sewer manhole covers because the devil lived there! )

Yeah, unfortunately, you may be screwed no matter how you try to exchange it. Well, you should be able to get it to work, but it will take persistence on your part and an intelligent BB employee. They will try to just give you the partial/after RZ price if you return it, with you therefore forever losing that partial credit. The points do not go back to your account. I wish they'll just changed those RZ certs to work just like giftcards, it would be so much easier and less confusing for them and us.

It might work better if you just try to exchange the title for a title of the exact same pre-RZ price. That should make sense to them, and they'll change the price of your new item to match the returned item price.

I don't envy the probable 10+ minutes you'll spend at the counter. But hopefully you'll get lucky and it will go smoothly. Let us know how it works!

According to reports from The Digital Bits.com, the team that was working on the Blu-Ray versions of Paramount titles, came in this past Monday morning to a notice that all of the Blu-Ray work already done was to be scrapped and no further work on Blu-Ray was to be done. They were just as surprised as anyone else. Some of those movies included Face/Off, Top Gun, and NEXT, among others. These titles have been removed from the Paramount release pages on their website as well.

That being said, I agree that there has to be some Blades of Glory Blu-Ray out there considering the proximity of the release date.

Hmm...I have returned stuff before having used RZ certificates and they always told me that those points return to your account. Granted I have never really checked on it but just took them at their word.

As far as the devil in the sewers...you must have not been doctrinated correctly. The devil is everywhere and he is talking to you all the time.

Tell me about it, I bought it back on 7/31 for $6.99 with an RZ certificate (shows on the receipt as $6.54).

Since it's still within the 30 day price guarantee period, or whatever it's called, I may just try and get it refunded to that price and not argue over 45 cents. (Not that I am going to drive out there over just $3 anyway, but I am going to get all the Kung Fu seasons too if they are only $14.99 each.)

How long does it take for purchases to show up on the summer rewards program?

I spent 60 bucks yesterday and they have not posted it yet.

And is underworld evolution @ 5.99 really apart of the giftcard deal?

I'd give it 3-4 days. It takes that long for it to show up on SOE. What's starting to tick me off is that I've had a $10 SOE certificate pending for over 9 days now. Does anyone have any idea how long the SOE certificates take to be 'processed.' ?

Woo-hoo! I was going to order from Amazon, but I'll just pick up Friday Night Lights for $19.99! (Maybe once Sunday rolls around the online price will drop and I'll get free shipping...)

I just got notification of my SOE certificates last week...seems like it took about 2 weeks before they were available.

I'm curious about this: I spent $112 on Sunday (10 DVDs were a part of the $9.99, get 5 and receive a $20 gift card deal). On my SOE amount online it shows I spent $72 (deducting the $40 in gift cards?). I thought my purchase Sunday earned me a $10 SOE certificate, now it seems I may be $30 short!

I wonder what the chances are of them getting more copies of these TV shows in local stores? The complete F-Troop for $29.98 + tax sounds great...if I can find them.

The way they do giftcards in a situation like that one is to take a proportional part of the $20 for the gift card off of the price of each DVD and then charge you $20 for the GC. (You'll see what I mean if you look at your receipt.) This way, you can return any of the individual titles and not cost them any money, nor make them have to somehow "adjust" your gift card. It's actually pretty smart/practical... but it does mean that you technically paid only $72 for the DVDs and paid $40 for the gift cards.

Sounds practical on one hand but also plenty sleezy on the other since they're essentially gypping you out on the other promotion.

Yeah it's wrong, and if complained about, you might be able to get that waved. Ether way Best buy gets there 20 bucks, Wether it was a "Free gift" or if you paid for it.

You spent over 100 bucks... Even if they are dis-counting the gift card. They have that money already.

Whats the point of the free gift card? Why not just have a 6 dollar dvd sale.
