I'd advise against it. Horrible PQ. Love the movie but I dumped the dvd long ago. The "collectors edition" is supposed to be a bit better than the first but if it is indeed an improvement, it isn't much of one.

Ouch, go ahead and get a manager when you get to the counter to make that adjustment, because returning/adjusting things paid w/ RZ certificates is a royal pain.

I try to never use them on an item that I have any chance of returning or adjusting. (Not blaming you, because anyone would have thought 6.99 was the best price it would be for awhile. Just saying that I try....)

Hasn't 'Blades of Glory' been cancelled on Blu-Ray, since Paramount/Dreamworks have gone HD-DVD exclusive? I'm sure I read that 'Blades of Glory' was cancelled on Blu-Ray.

Edit:

Yes, here is the link:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...u-ray_SKUs/879

Paramount Officially Cancels Blu-ray SKUs

In a note to retailers, Paramount has officially canceled all previously-announced upcoming Blu-ray releases.

As expected, Paramount won't release a single of its previously-announced upcoming Blu-ray titles, including 'Blades of Glory,' 'Next,' 'Top Gun,' 'The Jack Ryan Collection' and 'Face/Off.' Instead, each of the titles will now be HD DVD exclusive.

Retailers received official word late Monday that all five Blu-ray titles would be cancelled, and that existing orders would not be fulfilled.

Within hours, pre-orders for these titles disappeared from sites like Amazon.com, DVDEmpire and others. (We've updated our own Blu-ray release schedule, as well.)

It remains unclear how long Paramount's previously-released Blu-ray titles will remain on store shelves, and/or whether they're even included in the terms of the studio's exclusivity pact with HD DVD. Needless to say, we'll let you know as soon as any official information comes in.

i guess the ad was finalized and printed for distribution before the announcement was made. dunno if paramount shipped copies out to stores? or if they're just gonna destroy them all like blockbuster does to their dvds? but yea, i heard it was cancelled as well. yet since it was included in the ad, i included it in my post.

I figured that is why it was included in your post. I wasn't questioning your post, just responding to the person who said they couldn't wait to get 'Blades of Glory' on Blu-Ray. I don't want people to get their hopes up for something that isn't going to happen.

Again, shyguy1083, I appreciate you posting the ad!

It's too bad I own all the 2/$20 movies with Blades of Glory. I'd like to have that disc, but at full price I don't think it's worth it.

I never picked up Old School so Blades of Glory+bonus disk and Old School Unrated for 20 bucks sounds like a good deal to me.

Hmmm...that's a pretty good price for the Heroes standard set...but a comic book?!? A comic book that mostly depicts stories already told in the series?!? If it was the print version of the online graphic novel, then I'd bite.

Looks like I'll be going to Target if the rumors of their edition are true.

First of all, thanks much for the early ad!

Secondly, does anyone know how much Heroes is going to be at any other B&Ms? I really want to finally pick up Scooby-Doo S3, but I'm hoping someone else has Heroes cheap so I can pricematch and get the RZ points.

target has regular release for 37.99 and an exclusive deluxe version w/ bonus disc and mini-artwork for 44.99, so bb is probably the best price for b&m. wal-mart online lists 39.97, but in-store is cheaper sometimes. doubtful circuit city will have some amazing price on it... though it's entirely possible they might go as low as 34.99. we'll have to wait until sunday to find out for sure.

Universal is trying real hard not to sell that series in HD. Insane to pay that much for a season of TV that will be on sale for $19.99 in SD DVD at some point this year.

I'm definitely in for Invasion--$14.99 is the cheapest I've seen by far!
Also Hard Candy, Audition, and Bound for $3.99 each...

I would be shocked if all of the Blu Ray Paramount titles were truly destroyed. That's a lot of money down the tubes. But even if they intended to yank them all, I'm sure some will slip out since they were surely shipped to warehouses long ago...

Barnesandnoble.com has it for $84.98, which comes to $63.74 for members with the 15% off coupon. Even better, FYE.com has it for $53 after rebate and 10% coupon (WELCOMEMPTEN or WELCOMECCTEN). I think that's the best price for HD I've seen so far...
B&N has the SD version for $31.48 for members with coupon, also a good price...

But yes, it is shocking that BB does not have a competitive price on the HD version.

Sounds like just what I'd like too. Except the closest BB is 40 miles north & south of me. Does anyone know if BB.com will offer the same deal?

I wonder if the "Blades of Glory" HD DVD will include the bonus DVD.

Also, are there Blu-Ray versions of "Blades of Glory" out there somewhere? I mean, some must have been manufactured by now if they were supposed to be sold next week, right? I suppose the Paramount exclusivity deal was in the works long enough for them to cancel the Blu-Rays a while back, but wouldn't that have been a big clue that something was up? And if they were made, what will happen to them?

Anyway, thanks for the early prices, shyguy.
