I used the "$10 off of $30" Google Checkout discount back a couple months ago when it was in effect. Does anyone know if Google considers that separate from the "$10 off of $10" deal?

I know that technically speaking, the $10 off of $10 is showing up on my account... but I don't want to use it if Google considers me ineligible, and I'm only seeing it as a glitch.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, that same account/email can get in on this $10/$10 deal also.

Amazon figured out that DVD glitch faster than this, and that "exploit" was probably used by a FRACTION of the people that this Google Checkout promo is! (most likely users on this site)

They set the system in motion here, and IMO nobody is "cheating the system" or using an "exploit" when it's something so obvious anyone can figure it out AND they've had half-a-week to correct it and haven't done so.

Look, if any company should (and likely does) have the technical expertise to both prevent and deal with an issue like this, it is Google. The way they set up the process to obtain the $10 off, other than the basic premise being a bonus for "signing up", the sign-up process for the bonus had every appearance of inviting existing accounts to partake.

But be that as it may, I would think Google knows what's going on, and except for maybe excessive abuses of this, they will likely not make an issue of it. With the almost constant $10 and up discounts Google has offered over the past couple of months, I would imagine they have the cash to back all of it up, and want to continue to encourage people to use GC. On top of the fact that when they stopped the discounts recently, I am sure they, and the retailers, saw a huge drop-off in GC usage. Just a thought.

I didn't answer your question, because I don't have an answer. I could have made one up, if that would have made you happier.

As for your other statement, I still find it laughable that you insist that nobody is cheating the system just because any smooth-brain could have figured out how and just because it hasn't been fixed. I agree that Google has probably noticed by now and they probably have a reason for not closing the loophole. In case they followin Amazon's lead, and try to bill people retroactively, I was suggesting that people not use the same, non-single use card on multiple transactions.

In case your haven't noticed, I'm offering advice that may help people. Why do you insist on furthering this lame argument??

Anyone who used this at DVD planet have their order/s shipped yet? My status hasn't changed on my order since last Friday.

If you go to Bestprices.com their HD-DVDs are under $20 so after GC you can get many HD-DVD titles for $11-$12 shipped. Haven't checked on Blu Ray, but at Bestprices the item DOESN'T need to be in stock for GC to work.

Same for me, still says "in progress" for status.

The buy.com order I made on Friday though was shipped that very same day so who knows.

Thanks, OP. Also took advantage of the holiday deal of $20 off $50 last month, so this was icing on the cake.

Strange...

The deal worked fine for me on a couple different accounts... And then this morning I made a new unique acct with different CC number and it seemed to work fine and showed me the stores with which I could spend. I went to DVD Planet, but no matter what I do it will not apply $10 off. I'm trying in-stock dvds. I tried Bewitched Season 2 & 3, and when that did not work I figured it was perhaps no longer working with the B1G1 sale... So I tried Transformers the movie and that also did not work.

Anyone else having issues?

DVD Planet can be really slow in shipping items. It sometimes took them up to a week to ship my last batch of "in stock" items.

I've had the opposite experience. I placed around 10 orders during the last GCO promotion and I think all of them shipped in around 2 days. There may have been a couple of exceptions, but if so the delay wasn't long enough for me to notice.

The only trouble i've had with GCO is DvdEmpire, ever order I placed with them didn't get into their system for about a week. Once it did, it would ship the same day, but it would take forever for GCO to forward the order (or however it works) to Dvdempire.

Roy28 I've had the same problem with dvdempire. I had an order for 3 cds for a month without a movement so I cancelled and within minutes the order was canceled. than about 2 weeks ago I ordered 2 cds and a dvd and I ended up canceling it as they were supposed to be in stock but never shipped. it took about 2 days for the order to get canceled.

I keep getting this when trying to check out on DVD Planet.

Oops!
dvdplanet.com has sent Google a shopping cart with errors in it. We'll contact them to ask that they fix this problem. As this could be a temporary issue, you can go back in your browser to try checking out again.

I have three items totalling $24.99 in my cart, does anyone know of a cheap item I can use to push it over for free shipping?

Sometimes certain items will always cause that error. The only sure-fire solution I've found is to add another item (which usually fixes the problem). Sadly, it also reduces the "bargain". Sometimes adding a second copy of the same item fixes it.

There's obviously a bug somewhere.

Hmmm... adding a second item makes it go through for me. But I'm a bit suspicious about whether it's a bug or deliberate.

What's the cheapest thing on that site that one could add?

For me, they've always shipped very quickly. I always receive my orders within a week or less.
