I received 3 packages today.
2 boxes, each containing the cds I ordered.
1 random package that contained Playtime (CC). It took some weight on it apparently and the box got smushed.
Odd that the CDs I ordered much later would come before the DVDs I ordered at least 2 days before. Hmm.
Is there a place I can exchange this for a better copy? Say I go to Barnes & Noble and say I just want to exchange it for the same thing, would they let me do it without a receipt?

Magnum PI Season 5 up from $37.38 to to 42.37
Warners Motion Picture Masterpiece Collection from $37.33 to $42.32
Hollywoods Legends of Horror Collection from $29.xx to $33.82.
I had these on my wish list so I would remember to order them. Prices are OK but not great with the $10 off each. Too bad.

If Google is making up the difference (which I'm sure they are), Buy.com is probably laughing all the way to the bank.

I think I've read that the program is due to end by Halloween, but in theory it coudl probably go on almost forever.
Google has a boatload of cash in the bank. Unlike most IPO's where the underwriters and the underwriters' friends benefited from "flipping" shares on the first day, Google ran an IPO that pissed off Wallstreet mightily but had the effect of putting all that "flipping" money in their coffers. I believe they literally have billions of dollars in the bank, they recently applied for an exemption from the SEC to avoid being declared a mutual fund because their cash on hand was enough to trip SEC requirements for reclassifying a business as a fund.
So, consider these discounts as your personal share of Google's IPO.

I couldn't pass up Rome for $51 and change; my wife's birthday's next week and she has been giving me strong hints that she wants it.
A second order consisted of three books that came out to $20.95! These cost $9.84, $6.29 and $14.82 normally, with cover prices of $13.95, $6.99 and $25. (I tend to buy most of my books from buy as they're generally cheaper than amazon anyway...)
BTW I had lots of problems with error messages, either an apology saying the site is too busy at the moment, and again with the checkout, something about there not being enough memory for this transaction (IIRC). I'm using Firefox, but perseveered with the back button a couple dozen times until the error messages went away!
Oh, one suggestion for cheap books -- try some Dover Thrift Editions. They publish mostly literary works. Why not pick up Frankenstein for Halloween for $2.90 to pad out orders such it be necessary? ;-) They've also got some that have retail prices of $1!
Now that I know I can use this offer at other stores and with pre-orders, I'm gonna spend some time searching around...

How lovely;
This service has the WORST support I have EVER seen.
They told me I failed a credit card check (with information accepted by PayPal and Amazon...) and I emailed them asking them for further details or to please not tell my bank to place charges on my debit card if they don't even believe me to be who I say I am.
They responded by telling me I failed a credit card check.
And no, this isn't some weird error where I restarted typing the paragraph. They just sent the same thing twice.

Well, third time was the charm for my order of the Ultimate Matrix Collection. The first two orders were cancelled for no reason, but the third order just shipped. So if they cancel your orders for no reason, keep trying.
