I NEVER find anything at the Derby, CT. location.

It truly is the "Bermuda TRiangle" of Wal*Mart stores in the area.

From: I have always been here.
I went in to get X-men 3 ($13.89) and ended up also getting Little Mermaid (13.89), Category 6 (9.98 get to see the Destruction of Chicago), Ghouls (3.33 I'm a Zombie lover), R-point (8.88 blind buy, liked the cover image). Will go back another time to get a better look at what they had on display. They were in the Holloween/Garden section of my Super Walmart, Lawrenceville Hwy, Lilburn (Georgia).

I have this odd feeling like my 2 Super WalMarts did not get this display

i've REALLY wanted to get some of these titles, and now since they're cheap i wont care about blind buyin em.

I hope they get the display in and put it up very soon.

Not all are putting them in a seperate display. The walmart I used had them on the regular endcap of the DVD-shelving, except it was the endcap way at the back of the little, walled-off "dvd & electronics" area.

I went to 7, yes 7 super wal-marts and none of them had the tartan display. I checked the end of the dvd isles, checked the holloween section, checked the garden/halloween section, went down the dvd isle over and over and no Tartans =(. I went to some of the walmarts more than 3 times during the last week. This sucks. I really want all of these movies. Hopefully one of the walmarts near me will have them out soon since it will be tuesday tomorrow.

what exactly does the endcap or display look like. is it like one of those full size displays they have for new release movies or is it a tiny endcap thing? by the way, i live around fort worth, arlington. anyone have any luck in dallas/fort worth? walmart sucks

oh and i checked the $4.88 horror dvds just to see if the Tartans were mixed in with them. no luck either

The 4.88s have a good chance of going out today; I talked to my "contact" on third shift recently and she now gets lists of shippers/displayers and a Universal 4.88 is listed as going out Monday 9/Tuesday 10

Not much of a selection at my WM, but I picked up Phone and Doppleganger (two titles I've been waiting to purchase for a while).

The display finally showed up at the Shelton, CT store. I picked up Memento Mori, Wishing Stairs and Whispering Corridors since I know that this is some kind of trilogy thingy. Has anyone seen The Heirloom, Koma and/or Face? I'm giving these 3 titles some consideration. Thanks.

I think the "trilogy" is up to a tetralogy now. The 4th is Moksori (Voice). But the only connection between the 4 movies is that they are ghost stories set in girls-only high-schools (and I'm not even sure that all 4 were girls-only). There are no common characters between the movies and to the best my knowledge, no inter-movie references either.

The only one of those I've seen is Face. It's fairly decent, nothing original about it but it did keep me entertained.....weak ending, as well. The price is right but I'm still not sure I'd recommend it.

On a side note, I finally watched Unborn But Unforgotten the other night. It had been in my backlog for a good year or so and that's exactly where it belongs. This film is in no way worth $8.88, so do yourselves a favor and skip this one if you see it at Wal-Mart.

I've seen Koma and I'd recommend it as a rental, but maybe not for $8.88. It's got some good atmosphere at times and there's a couple of really good scenes, but the acting isn't always that great. I bought The Heirloom for $8.88 last week, but still haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I'll report back once I do.

Most of these movies are that way-decent, not great. I mainly like them because of the Asian settings and the unknown actors. If these movies were set in New York and had someone like Angelie Jolie as the star, then I would have no interest in them(actually, I might want to see Angelie Jolie in a school-girl uniform). I think that I'm going to keep Memento Mori(I saw part of it on the Sundance Channel and it seemed pretty good) and return the rest. Thanks.

No Tartans for me, either.

And no $4.88 display.

All they have is some horror movies in the "seasonal" section of the DVD area. It's mostly recent movies with a $4.88 Poltergeist.

The Tartan display *may* still be up at WM Supercenter at 30 and St Francis, that's where I went. It is right past Fair Park.

FINALLY, success in the Detroit area. I had to go to Walmart for other things and went to the Chesterfield, MI location. Lo and behold on one side of a 4-sided halloween display (in the special halloween department) I found a whole slew of Tartans!!!

Picked up:
Momento Mori
Marebito
Cello
R-Point
Wishing Stairs
Phone
Whispering Corridors
Pray
Face
Ab-normal Beauty

May go back for more later...

I'm going to hit up the 3 closest wal-marts tomorrow.

They won't have anything, but I'm still holing onto the slightest sliver of hope.

$8.88, hence the title of the thread.
