Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I bought this Frosty the snowman dvd set at Ross in downtown San Fran today:

Legend of Frosty the Snowman Collection

It's 20 bucks at amazon (I can't post link, it won't allow me to). But I got it for 4.99. There was 1 left I believe.

I also saw the foolscreen of Sky Captain, and Widescreen editions of Coming to America (regular version), Sleepy Hollow, Special edition of Truman Show and The Talented Mr. Ripley.

Other than Sky Captain being 3.99, the others were all 4.99 I believe.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Went to the other Ross here and picked up The Talented Mr. Ripley for $4.99. They had a lot of Iron Man for $7.99, but I'm not paying that much for a single movie at Ross.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Got Prehistoric Park (BCI reliease) for 5.99 (there was no sticker and the cashier chose a price)

Here's Lucy - Best Love Eps. 6.99 (which it looks like I'll return unless there is a reason to keep it --- it looks like they are starting to release season sets)
http://www.amazon.com/Heres-Lucy-Bes...pr_product_top

Fantastic Four (4) - The Impossible Man (Limited Edition) 4.99
http://www.amazon.com/Fantastic-Four...468337&sr=1-15

Anyone know if you can get better sets/compilations of those 1960's FF cartoons (or any marvel ones)

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

once in a while I get a very pleasant surprise of a guilty pleasure movie at a good price, tonight was such a night. I found Invasion USA with Chuck Norris, in widescreen, for $3.99 (its in dolby surround, but I dont think I should hold my breath for a 5.1 remaster). this is over the top 80s action at its best, Chuck Norris is a 1 man army, defending america against a massive terrorist invasion led by Richard Lynch (who knows how to play a spooky scary bad guy, he was also great in the horror movie "Bad Dreams", another guilty pleasure on my wish list). this film has special make-up effects by the legendary Tom Savini and is a bloody, action packed good time for any fan of this genre.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Finally hit a Ross that had a restock on Star Trek films. Got the two disk versions of Voyage Home and Undiscovered Country. They also had Wrath of Khan, Nemesis, and Insurrection. Also picked up the Ws Invasion USA. Still looking for The Motion Picture, Search For Spock and First Contact if anyone runs across them (WS two disc versions). This was at the Sanford Florida Ross store near the Seminole Town Center mall.

Not quite. "Spider-Man vs. The Hobgoblin" is from the 90's series{Hobgoblin wasn't even around in the 60's. He was created in the 90's.}. And I'm pretty sure "Spider-Man vs. The Vulture" has episodes from the 80's cartoon.

Check your local Blockbuster Videos (if you still have any) all the ones around me just put out a ton of used copies of the 2-disc sets. My guess is they got a bunch back when the new movie came out and now they are finally making their way to the previously viewed shelves.

Thanks for the tip! I have two Blockbusters near me, plus our son's girlfriend works at a Blockbuster in a different part of our area. I'll check it out.

sometimes directors cuts are just a ply from the studios to get you to double dip, with nothing good really added to the film, this is not the case with reindeer games, the directors cut actually makes it a better film
