Well they're regularly $42 at Best buy, so I'm going to say bargain definitely.

Anyone care to pop in disc 6 of seasons 7 & 8 and see if they've included all the bonus material from the original releases?

Season 7:
This set comes with commentary tracks on "First Person Shooter by Chris Carter, Gillian Anderson on "All Things" and writer Vince Gilligan on "Je Sohaite". A couple of episodes have deleted scenes that you can integrate into the episode by going to the menu and activating it. There are also a number of international language clips as well but the last disc that featured the special effects featurettes and documentary are NOT included here as part of this set.
(Season 8)
The 8th season reduced cost set has commentary tracks on "Alone" by Frank Spotnitz and by Kim Manners on "Existence". There are also a couple of episodes with deleted scenes that you can watch restored to the respective episodes via the main menu. We also have more of those goofy international clips but all the extras on the seventh disc aren't included.
(Season 9)
The thinpak boxed set has all 19 episodes. Despite comments to the contrary some extras ARE included for this set including the commentary track for "Improbable" by Carter, writers Gilligan, John Shiban and Spotnitz on "Jump the Shark" and director Kim Manners on "The Truth". Deleted scenes are also included for episodes and can be reintegrated through the main menu (a small X will appear in the corner noting which are deleted scenes). The shows are presented in anamorphic widescreen with exceptional transfers. During some of the darker scenes in a couple of episodes the transfer turns murky for a brief period of time but that's few and far between. The Dolby Digital Surround tracks are nicely used to create atmosphere and add to the tension for the best episodes.
What's missing? The documentary on the making of "The Truth", the deleted scenes that were grouped together on the last discs, the profiles, featurettes and the DVD-ROM game "The Truth".

Thanks to the dude on Amazon putting useful reviews in.
I'm still scrounging for the big box sets as I don't want to miss the special features. I didn't get to BB early enough this week...the big box S7&9 were sold out, although they were there last week ...I need to do a 20 mile drive to another city to the other BB that has S7 big-box. Dunno what to do about S9 yet.

I just received sets 7-9 from Amazon, and I am extremely happy with giving them a couple of extra dollars over DDD. These sets arrived quickly and in absolute perfect shape... not a single dent! I do order from DDD... just did during this recent sale, but I would never order a snapper case, any disc with a slip cover, or a digipack from them because they always look like they were dragged behind the postal truck before they arrived.

Sorry if this was mentioned already, but does anybody know if they'll release a mega-boxset with these like the buffy chosen collection? I may as well just wait for that.
