Wal Mart deal is strongly YMMV, walmart here (DFW) $27.45. Just wasted my gas.

Spoke with three different WM's here only to be quoted three different prices, $27.96, $24.96, and $24.50. I was told by one person that the only way it would be $17.88 is if that store were price matching against a competing store in the area with a price that low.

Big Worms 04-05-06 10:14 PM

FYI...Amazon just raised their price to $34.99 on the 2 disc.

neocheddar02 04-05-06 10:22 PM

Both Wal-Marts I visited (Roseville, CA) had no discount at all-27.xx-I gave up and paid $25 at Target.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Part of Amazon's full price changes for Disney flicks... That's quite a jump from $23 to $35.

Terrible prices on the 2 disc, but thanks for letting me know about Stop And Shop. Saved me a trip and some gas.
I'll probably wait for a collection to be released once they make the rest.

I picked the movie (single disk) up at Albertsons with a bunch of groceries on-line for $38.00 and change using a bunch of their current codes. Pretty good deal.
Plus I got free cola and free salad mix to go with my pizzas. Perfect movie night.

It looks like the best deal around is the Tower record's B&M deal with $5 off survey coupon(thanks poster). $22.99 - $5.00 = $17.99 + tax out the door.

They had no problems accepting it here at the NYC store.

fitzcain 04-06-06 03:36 PM

Same deal at the md tower in rockville, 22.99-5.00survey coupon = sweet!
These two discers, like bats begin, constantine, kong, etc. are getting pricier than they used to. My feeling is they think joe schmoe will buy the one disc, and the collector will buy the two discer, no matter the price.

ILSA 04-07-06 12:26 AM

Also got the 2-disc today for my wife at Tower using the coupon.
Kewl deal.
Thanx a bunch, Dorsalphin.

I'm gonna pick up my preorder at Best Buy this weekend. I plan to go to the Clackamas, Oregon store and PM to the local Walmart price of $18.88 during pickup. Hope it won't be too much of a problem. Otherwise, I'll just return the preorder and pick up at the Walmart instead.

Thanks for the survey coupon! I'll try the Tower Records deal tomorrow.

QuikSilver 04-07-06 11:57 PM

Picked up the 2 disc set at Tower tonight using the $5 coupon. Thanks to the OP.

Ravenous 04-09-06 10:29 PM

how?

Ravenous 04-10-06 01:39 PM

Local used shop. They get everything within a week of release. Got King Kong 2 disc for $9 last week.

eau 04-13-06 06:06 PM

Picked up my 2-disc preorder from BB last weekend after PM'ing to local Walmart price of $18.88. Almost as good a deal as the Tower Records one but I had the $5 off the Lady of the Tramp when I preordered Narnia :)

Is the disc 1 identical to the single disc version?

trebor00 04-13-06 06:20 PM

I haven't seen this yet. Would it be a good blind buy?

I thought it was pretty good. I felt the later part of the movie was rather rushed. A little more character development and bonding would have been better. I hope it would be addressed in the upcoming director's cut :)

kenbenobi 04-14-06 12:48 AM

I received 2 manufacturers coupons in the mail yesterday. I have no idea why I got them! It was just a big flyer advertising the release of this DVD, with a $3 off coupon for the regular release and a $5 off coupon for the 2-disc set. I'll probably get the 2-disc set, so if someone wants the other coupon let me know.

Cusm 04-22-06 05:24 PM

I just got the coupon in the mail as well, anyone know a decent B&M price on this now?

Dabaomb 04-22-06 05:33 PM

$24.99 at Tower Records or Virgin Megastore

eau 04-23-06 12:39 PM

Did you get the coupons by themselves or with a rebate check?

TheMovieman 04-23-06 04:55 PM

Amazon now has it for $22.99, guess they've given up charging full price, lol.
