Chronicles of Narnia Prices

I'll go ahead and get this thread going and will update the prices as I get more in. It'll most likely be online pricing until Speedy or the usual posters can get the ads posted for April 4th.

FYE - 12.99 / 20.99 - Both After $7 MIR

Notes:

-Updated Walmart and DDD price. NOTE: As always with walmart YMMV. Mine had the 2 disc for 19.87 which is the cheapest I've seen.

-Pringles deal added
Pringles has a $3 MIR when you buy 5 cans and Narnia Dvd.

http://www.pringles.com/pages/pringles_narnia.shtml

-Added Best Buy Pricing thanks to Speedy. Following offer is available. ****Get a Case Logic 40-DVD wallet for only $3 (a $19.99 value) with purchase of The Chronicles of Narnia 2005 DVD or 2 DVD Special Collector’s Edition DVD set. // Minimum 45 per store // No Rainchecks // Must be purchased on the same receipt****

-Updated prices based on member posts as well as the Circuit City ad...CC is in the lead now for the RE.

-By misterchimpy: Not that great, but if you are buying paper towels/toilet paper anyway, why not. Does require POP tab from Narnia package and original receipts however. Also there are coupons towards both Brawny and Northern in today's Valassis insert in your sunday paper.

-Added disney.com prices. Thx to spartanstew:)

-I'll add any notes here...I've updated the prices based on the online sites. I'll start updating the in store prices if they are lower as soon as I get them. Feel free to let me know if you find something.

Looks like tower.com is the winner again.

cisman 03-23-06 01:00 PM

Things might change once the ads come out. I was conviced I would get the collectors edition but now that they are rumoring a EE I may just get the regular edition. It includes a DTS track as well so that should be fine. I didn't see any extras to die for on the CE.

chsidwel 03-23-06 03:03 PM

I am a little surprised Amazon's price shot up so much. I believe it was $15.96 earlier in the week. I'll probably hold off on getting this until prices come back down again later.

spartanstew 03-23-06 03:48 PM

Disney.com has the following prices:

19.99/29.99

Each comes with a free movie poster and you receive a $10 gift card for the standard edition and a $20 gift card for the CE.

Of course, their shipping is about $10,so you should be able to get the standard version for about $17.50 (plus poster) and the CE for about $19.50 net plus a poster.

I want to give the heads up on a deal at Best Buy. I don't work for Best Buy, but I work for a company that deals Best Buy. In the information I have for next week, it states that "With the purchase of Chronicles of Narnia, customers will be able to buy a 40 capacity DVD case (SKU 3620843) for only $3."
40 capacity DVD case
Keep in mind, this could change between now and next week, but I wanted to list this to give people the option. The case is currently listed on the site at $19.99. Not bad for $3.

Fye prices online are $12.99 and $20.99 (both after a $7 MIR).

Is Tower.com a reliable online dealer? Do you receive pre-orders close to the date released in the mail? There isn't a storeof theirs around here.

Yes. Yes. Too bad (fortunately, I have a Tower store in my neighborhood in NYC). :)

That is what I was thinking, until I read IGNs review a few minutes ago. The 2 disc appears to be packed with extras. Just a gut instinct that this will be it for quite a while. Doesn't really give off that double-dip vibe.

All these prices for the 2-disc suck, BTW.

dvdirv 03-27-06 04:31 PM

In another thread, Target's price for the regular edition at 14.99, which appears to be the best price of all! :)

dvdirv 03-27-06 04:37 PM

If you check on Best Buy's web site, their price is now $16.99!

misterchimpy 03-27-06 05:55 PM

You might want to also list the Brawny/Northern $3 MIR that I posted in this thread.

tofferman 03-27-06 10:52 PM

I was going to order from Tower for 22.99 with free shipping, but for an additional 27 cents at Target (there is no sales tax in Oregon), I can have it in my hands without worrying about it becoming damaged during shipping.

gryffinmaster 03-29-06 06:08 PM

<--- Considered pre-ordering from Disney and using the $20 GC towards a recently released Ghibli ($19.99), but then discovered the shipping charges. Still not a "terrible" deal.

JoN8282 03-29-06 09:32 PM

buy.com is now 23.25 w/free shipping

gryffinmaster 03-29-06 09:45 PM

Updated Pricing for DeepDiscountDVD as well - $24.46.

Costco - regular - 18.99/18.39 - SE - 25.99/24.99

people are assuming that their pricing is regional which is why there are two for each item..

Qui Gon Jim 03-30-06 05:16 AM

Is that Disney deal good in store?

gcribbs 03-30-06 05:58 AM

Pringles has a $3 MIR when you buy 5 cans and Narnia Dvd.

http://www.pringles.com/pages/pringles_narnia.shtml

Michael Corvin 03-30-06 07:42 AM

Love how you have to save receipts for Pringles & Brawney. -ohbfrank- Why can't the packaging be enough? I have some of each at home already.

pilot 03-30-06 10:57 AM

if you use the 10% off and free shipping coupon with overstock, you can get the regular edition for $13.37 and the SE for $20.84

just create a new account over at overstock, and as posted in the other overstock threads..

"Right now there are stackable 10% off and free shipping coupons. Add an item to your cart and check the 'Yes, I have a GC or Promo Code' box. Enter 73622, then continue onto the next screen. Now backup to the cart screen again, uncheck the box and check it again. This time enter 85704. Continue onto the next screen and you should see 10% off and free shipping."

The 10% off coupon code cannot be used multiple times on the same account, but the free shipping code can be used multiple times on the same account.
*should* work if you create a new account.. just be aware overstock's CS people sometimes suck, and it will ship media mail, which is about as slow as DDD, so expect at least a week for delivery (if not more)...

Probably not. Disney doesn't own the Disney stores..

Shagrath 03-31-06 05:15 AM

Went ahead and ordered at Overstock with the 10% off and free shipping. That's probbly the best price I'm going to see, and I have enough of a backlog that I'm not in a huge rush to get this.

Thanks for the codes, pilot.
