Stores can charge whatever they want for their products. The consumer chooses what they will pay. What is "just plain out stupid" is cornering a WalMart manager and "throwing" a dvd at him because you don't like the price.

Just came back from the Disney Store, and they were handing out Lady and the Tramp exclusive with the purchase. It's not a lithograph, but its that holographic paper thing that changes picture when you move it - don't know how to explain well- it was also offered with Cinderella if anyone remembers.

Anyway, even though its expensive then other places, it might be good for the collectors.

Re-read what I wrote. I said that Walmart is making people PAY for what would be a free bonus item at Best Buy/Circuit City. Oh well. I guess if people like to pay extra for such items then go right ahead. I'll pass on it.

EDIT: Sorry if I come across as assholeish in regards to this. Yes Walmart does have their rights to charge whatever they want but that doesn't mean I have to like it. And if the Walmart manager would of given me a respectful reply to my question instead of dancing around the issue then I wouldn't be so angry over it. Here's a question. I am planning on doing this very thing at Best Buy to get Lady & the Tramp for $11.99. Now, considering I am putting down $5 to pre-order Chronicles of Narnia (2-disc for those that care), will I be able to PM on release day with another retailer, since, if history proves correct, CC will most likely have it for cheaper?

Isn't the only difference between the two is that Pro allows you to save the movie files along with few other settings right?

Just got back from BB. They were out of the stuffed animal, but I had my 18 month old daughter with me and asked the cashier if they had any left and she was nice enough to give me one from behind the counter that an employee stashed. Very nice, she didn't have to do that.

I mentioned I wanted to pre-order Narnia and save the $5 and she hadn't heard of the deal so she called over her superior and she didn't know either so she gave me $5 off anyway and told the cashier she would find out about Narnia for the next customer. So $11.99 for me with no pre-order. Double

Paid with my $10 in reward zone certificates, and a remaining $1 on a GC & walked out with L&tT for $1.

Picked up Lady and the Tramp 14.99 + tax and I got the GO Fetch CARDS very nice ... awesome movie. The kids loved it. at CC.

My Tramp is on backorder from BestBuy.com. Damn, and I pre-ordered this as soon as the deal was on the site.

I work for a company that does the merchandising for Best Buy and we were directed to inform the Store General Manager to do what they wish with the big Lady on top of the display. Most stores are doing a raffle for their employees. I'm sure others will be giving it away at random.

charles1028, Not exactly sure since I have never pre-ordered anything at a B&M best buy store. I assume that you should be able to do a price match...might have to pay for the item in full and then take it to the customer service desk for the adjustment.

The BB plush Tramp measures 7.5 inches long (nose to tail) and 5.5 inches tall (from the tip of the ear).

Now I just need a Lady plush to go with him. Does anybody know where I can buy one? Toys R Us or Disney store perhaps?

Some vendors like Best Buy will not price match if there is a "freebie" included.

I went there yesterday to price match LADY against a competitor that was offering trading cards. Best Buy said they cannot match since the "freebies" are not identical. When I asked to price match WITHOUT the "freebie", they refused. I think it was just their way of refusing to price match on LADY.

Instead I went to Meijer (in the midwest) and they price matched--and gave me the Lady plush doll.

Those who pre-ordered Narnia and bought Lady and the tramp, what does your receipt show?

Mine shows Lady and the Tramp for $16.99 and the Chronicles of Narnia Pre-order for $0...is that normal??

I assumed it would show a discount instead. Oh well.

I now have the same problem. While previous Best Buy giveaways did not cause a problem with my 2 kids, the Tramp plush caused a huge fight for it. For now I had to take it away until I can come up with another one

The 2 reasons I didn't go for the BBY $5 discount on LATT with the preorder deal on Chronicles of Narnia are: (1) I've heard many rumors that an extended cut is in the works and (2) I have no idea what the final price I'll pay is going to be. If I went for the 2 DVD release I'd probably end up paying $22.99 - $5 at best case. That's too much for something with a high double dip probability. Just my $.02.

Hmmm... Haven't done it yet myself (will at lunch) but I would have expected a package deal on the receipt. Something like:

Then when you come back to buy Narnia, you "return" your pre-order on the same transaction to get $5 + tax credit toward Narnia. At least, that's how the video game preorders work. Maybe the package deal screws that up.

In my experince with video game preorders at best buy, you should have no problem. All they do is take that $5 deposit and credit your purchase transaction by deducting $5 from the sale price. I've done that for a $49.99 game and brought in a CC or Target ad or whatever for the sale and they've PMed and then applied my credit.

They're not going to punish you for preordering by not allowing you to PM as per their own company policy.

Yeah, thats what I thought too....but it was strange...I was looking for the $5 discount, but never say it....It did say Narnia Pre-order on the receipt....it just had a $0 while Lady and the Tramp was $16.99....oh well, maybe the cashier did something to it....im sure it will still work fine for me, I just thought it was odd.
