Just got one in Portland (Gresham). The clerk seriously doubted the legitamacy of the price and asked me about it. I told her I saw an ad in the newspaper. She almost didn't sell it to me, but in the end she relinqhished. I think she might have been a manager or something which is why she questioned the price so intently.

great to hear some of you got in on the deal. If you check the OOP dvd list in the main forum you will hear numerous reports of people selling them at that price. I believe that this is borders way of just cleaning out the inventory, they have done this in the past with some foreign titles that were going OOP. I doubt they will restock, as they can not be special ordered.

That's correct. If the label is scanned, the item will ring up at the price on the label ($33.99 in the case of Almost Famous: Bootleg Cut), even if there has been a price drop. The employees are supposed to resticker the DVDs after a price drop, but sometimes (especially at this time of year) they don't have the time. When in doubt, you can look up a title at one of the Title Sleuth kiosks and see the current price (the price you'll get if the cashier keys in the number). At the kiosk, you should also be able to print out the information in case you need proof.

Thanks, only one copy on the shelf at the local Borders in Camp Hill, PA. Tag price said $33.99 and the cashier had to take it out of one of the thick plastic security sleeves and it rang right up at $8.99. Total was $6.67 with tax after the 30% coupon. Super deal!

My local store didn't have it on the shelf, and when I asked if they could order it, they said the price was $33.99. Is there a way to get the $8.99 price if you order?

picked this up today after i put it on hold. Clerk couldn't believe the price on it. Our conversation went like this:
Me: Not my fault whoever does the pricing messed up.
Clerk: Yeah, thats pretty dumb.
