Got a question to ask, that I don't believe anyone has asked yet.

If you put items in your shopping cart, apply a coupon, then do not follow through with the order, and take the items out, or back to your wishlist, is that code no longer a valid code for you?

I'm sure if that's true, it wouldn't matter much, because there are so many codes, but thought I'd ask.

EDIT: Nevermind, I went over to DDD and put 5 items in my cart as a hypothetical order, and it showed the discount. So I guess as long as I don't log out I'm ok.

If the order is never processed, it never happened. Therefore, the coupon is still valid, since it was never used.

Here's a question for you all...

I've already places a fairly sizeable order and don't have much more to spend. To that end, I'm trying to decide between Fanny & Alexander (CC 5-disc) or The Decalogue. I've enjoyed the three colors trilogy of Kieslowski and enjoyed everything I've seen by Bergman. I just don't have enough money get them both. So which would you fellas suggest?

Someone posted earlier about DIRECTORS LABEL SERIES BOX SET being listed as a pre-order by mistake. Could someone here tell me what that was all about? I can't seem to find the original post.

I've tried calling, but wow. DDD may have great prices, but those people you talk to on the phone are pure ass. I've never talked to someone who even in the slightest acted like they wanted to help, or was not rude to me. They also seemingly don't know much about their own policies either.

This one battleax I'm on the phone with right now is telling me that even OOS and backordered items to not apply for the 20% off, and they have NEVER applied for the discount.

Yeah, their customer service, at least on the phone, is just about the worst I've ever dealt with.

By ther way, I find it odd how noone is ordering Band of Brothers. Got mine for $60 after the discount, which I thought was pretty sweet. I guess everyone else already has it.

There was that whole Target misprice earlier this year where a bunch of people picked it up for $5.99. Also, it's been out for a few years, and I'm sure a lot have been sold at previous DDD sales when it was a newer title.

Yup, this one has been out for years, and I think by now most people in this thread would have picked it up one way or the other. I just re-watched the whole series again for like the 3rd time, and it never gets stale. The realism, relationships, battle-scenes, etc. are just phenomenal.

One DVD I note hasn't appeared too often is Battle of Algiers Criterion. Again, I would think most people in this thread have this release already. But if you don't--buy it. Not only is it a great film, and the release has amazing extras, but this release has so much to say about things going on today. Terrorism, 9-11, the crisis in France now. All of these have drawn parralels to the French occupation of Algeria and its repercussions.

arsmith7: Go with The Decalogue. Both are excellent, but The Decalogue is a more canonical work and can serve as a springboard to some of Kieslowski's lesser-known works (like A Short Film About Love and A Short Film About Killing) that are expansions of the short films included in The Decalogue.

ryuryu2949: That's a decent price on Band of Brothers, but I think many already have it because the set's been out forever and has been on sale for lower. I got mine at Amazon last year for $53.99 minus STL discount (RIP STL...). It's also available used but mint at virtually every GameStop I set foot in for $49.99. When combined with B2G1 and the GI discount card, the effective price is $30 plus tax.

jdpatri: The Harold Lloyd set comes out tomorrow. I'm sure there will be some orders for it then.

Now if anyone can tell me how to get my recently missing Quote, Post, and Edit buttons back...

Is the Firefly Complete Series a good blind buy?

And as a general caution, you can still be in for long waits even after you get the "order shipped" email notification. I ordered a copy of Jet Li's Hero about a month ago and it took 13 days for it to arrive after I received the shipping notice. I was getting ready to email them to see what had happened.
