Is that what they mean by 'cancelled and credited', a credit back to the store? Not good enough, I want it credited back to my credit card.

Last time this happened with Overstock, it was credited back to my credit card - it took about 3 business days for it to appear on line with my credit card company - so I fully expect it will be the same this time.

Yeah, no crap. While I'm perfectly fine with them cancelling my order, they had better refund my credit card.

I've looked everywhere on Overstock's site and cannot find their 800 number. If someone has it, please post. Thanks!

I had paid with paypal and used a previous credit of 5.13. Mine was cancelled and credited as store credit. However they also gave me a "free" coupon. they are telling me I cant use my "credit" in conjunction with a coupon. I now have 27.82 in credits with them over three different orders being messed up and they are telling me I can only use 1 at a time unless they expire. That is crap, I sent them money , got NO product and now they are stipulating how I can spend my money. I have been on a chat line with a customer service person for 30 minutes and am awaiting a reply as I type this.

So as others have said earlier in th thread...BEWARE having to do a return or get a refund from Overstock.

The "contract" that you had with them is based upon their T&C, which you agreed to when placing the order.

Personally, I'm happy we got the $5 GC. They certainly did not need to.
The terms don't say anything about reserving the right to cancel orders after receiving payment....they only reserve the right to cancel after orders are placed. I believe that's because a disclaimer saying they can take your money, hold it for a while, promise to send you what you ordered and then cancel your order would describe a practice that is probably not legal.

Cloudspear has a point. I don't think it's legal for them to advertise a price, accept orders and charge cards and then not ship. Once they took payment and charged the card it became a legal contract. But I don't care about this set so I will not bother with it.

I emailed about the credit, and here's what I got:
" I have verified your account and the status shows that your credit card account was issued credit of $ 16.06 on 11/09/2005 on invoice. The credit was issued to the credit card ending in the last four digits of xxxx."

It'll take a couple days to populate where I can check it, but that sounds good.

They also suggested:

I have reviewed the website and I found a similar product 'Neon Genesis Evangelion (Paperback)' which might suit your expectations. You can view the same by following the convenient link to our site:

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....prod_id=890253

which isn't quite the same thing, but they're trying.

I just filed against them via paypal for not sending a refund or the item. They can stick store credit. I sent them paypal cash, I should get it back.

Dirty Pretty Things is great, but it isn't even remotely like Kill Bill.

Ditto on the credit on my end as well. I got confirmation of the amount being credited back to me in full a little while ago. Oh how I really wish this went through, but I got my money back in full so I'm content with that. Couldn't give a care about the 4 or was it 5 dollar coupon I got from them for canceling.

At least like others have said they did say it was a price mix up and not try to give me some flimsy excuse. Though I do like how they said it was a the manufacture error and not theirs though. If that were the case wouldn't the miss price be across the board?

I do have to say my only gripe with this whole matter was if they were going to cancel all the orders, why not do it immediately after they changed the price on the site and not a week or so afterwards. Sure just dangle that carrot in front of us dam it

Because they were probably running it past their attorneys.

Glad I noticed this was getting bumped... I get multiple instances of every email that overstock sends out (because I have several accounts with them) and these days I tend to just delete most of them without ever reading them so I never noticed a message about the credit.

Do you think if there were just a few of those mispriced order, Overstock might just honor those orders? I could understand the lost of money in a big number of orders... Anyway, it's a selfish question, after all, this is a bargain forum, people suppose to pass the "bargain" deals.

Now a day, bargains are hard to come by... The best bargains are usually the mispriced items, but *sigh*, even that not being honored.

Where did you find the credit in your acct. info.? I got the email stating they'd credit me $5 per order (I had 2), but I can't find the credit when I try to make another purchase. Any help?

I just put items in my cart and when you look at your cart below subtotal it will show -5.00 as a promotion or something like that.
I got The Cooler and Open Range (2d SE) for a total of 4.80 after shipping. Not too shabby.

Sorry this didn't go through, but I thank Overstock for handling it properly - full credit card refund has been processed, and I'm sure I'll find something to use the $5 credit for - perhaps another misprice?

I received my refund and used my 5 dollars towards Mask (Director's Cut).
