For 30 I got:

Garden State
Luther
Mean Creek
The Bourne Supremacy

Well worth the wait from the last sale to pick up Garden State and Mean Creek.

Since Movie Gallery started in Alabama, we have probably 10-12 of them in the Huntsville area. One of them has a whole double-sided rack of Clearance 5.99 titles. Picked up:

The Minus Man
Made
Rules of Attraction
The Man Who Wasn't There

for 12.XX

De-sticker the top three and take them across the street to Movie Stop and trade for The Incredibles and I get Incredibles + Coen Brothers for $12.

Cool. We get the usual 9.99/14.99. But they do have an abundance of 3.99 VHS tapes. I was tempted to pick up a few that I saw that were not on dvd yet, but opted not to.

Does anyone know what new titles are being put out on PVD at Movie Gallery this Monday? Last week it was "Saw". Any chance we'll see "I Heart Huckabees"?

Thanks!
Spongebob.

an early heads up

i was at work tonight and we got in the marketing guide for next month which said

the next b2g2 sale is 4/22-5/1.
and the new 9.99 releases are going to be Spanglish, Ocean's 12, and Lemony Snicket. the lemony snicket looks like it's going to be the one disk version and not the 2 disk one.
but those 3 won't be availible til after the sale is over.

oh and if you go to a movie gallery with tanning booths, april 26 (or something close) is free tan day.

WTF?

That's got to be the most bizarre combo of businesses I've heard of yet - rent a movie and get a dose of cancer while you wait!

MG is a version of Video Update which is a version of Pic-A-Flick and a P-A-F near me (that is now out of business) had tanning beds. You could tan and then rent a movie.

And btw, they had the best tanning beds.

The Movie Gallery I used to work at had a tanning place next door to it that was always advertised in the ads and at our store.

Anyway, I went to the one Movie Gallery by me and I wanted to pick up Saw for $9.99 but I saw they had an alternative I'm assuming rental only cover. Not that clear one that best buy , circuit city, etc. sell. So I passed on it, oh well.

Garden State is still $14.99 along with the other movies I want, so disappointed.

The MGs near me don't have tanning booths, but there is another video store in a nearby town that does. So I guess it's not that strange. The MG near me has the same Saw. I got it anyway. Garden State is also still $14.99 here (PA), so that sucks. What really sucks is that they often sell out of title here, without ever having a price drop. I wanted The Girl Next Door a few months ago & saw them get down to one of them left & it was still $14.99. Luckily I was able to get it new from CH for $6.95. However the pricing is strange here. In the latest flyer it advertised that prices have dropped on such & such dvds & list The Girl Next Door as one of them & they don't even have any for sale.

I went today and I noticed that Girl Next Door Unrated was 9.99. But since you have it, you don't care anymore.

------------

Question:

How are people getting Spongebob? I went it to get that, I <3 Hucakbee's, P.S., and try to find another...but the dude told me that Spongebob doesn't come out till next week (which the little movie gallery book says March 28th which is monday).

I didn't see I<3 Huckabee's, either. So I was out of their in a jiffy with nothing (I really wanted P.S.)

The dude also told me that the sale went for five more days, but I doubt that...so I wouldn't even take that with a grain of salt (as he seemed kinda out of it).

The only new film I saw today (Mar 29) was Exorcist: The Beginning.

The sale ends April 3rd.
