As for Best Buy back ordering, not to burst your bubble but everytime I have ordered something from there and it is backordered, my order has been cancelled.

I ordered the Traffic among other things on one order, then signed up with a new account (same info except email) and ordered some Showgirls discs on the second. My Traffic is listed as backordered (the rest of that order has shipped), and the Showgirls have shipped. I'd give about 50/50 odds the Traffic backorder will be filled and with the correct version.
It will be interesting as these orders start to roll in to see if everyone gets the Special Edition versions. I'd think it's likely since the catalog numbers apparently match up to the Special Editions, so the people in the warehouse wouldn't be making a switch (unless a change to the order was made from higher up).

In-Store Pickup Success
I placed an order for Traffic CC and Rudy CE late Sunday evening. Traffic was backordered but Rudy was available for in-store pickup, so I chose to do in-store pickup for Rudy CE. I picked up Rudy CE with no problems today. They didn't try and give me the correct barebones edition -- it was smooth. So, I expect the Traffic CC to be smooth as well.

I passed on this due to lack of trust in the deal actually happening. Hopefully it pans out for you that ordered, but I don't really trust Best Buy to come through. Last time I got in on a deal with them I thought was too good to be true, they cancelled it.

I have two pending debit chargers, after checking my checking account online -- one for the full price of my order, which was $37.48 for Knight's Tale SB, Traffic CC, Hoosiers: CE, and Rudy: CE, and another one from Best Buy for $18.xx.
I assume that, since there was only 2 from my order that shipped (Knight's Tale and Rudy: CE), that they charged me for the two that shipped.
Anyone have experience with this -- them charging you the full total, and then charging you what's been shipped. They're both marked as "pending transaction" on my bank of america online checking account. So, hopefully one will be erased.
Also, do they normally only charge when their items have been shipped?

calling BB and speaking to a CSR was totally useless. i wanted to call and correct one of the item's shipping address. the CSR said the shipping address can't be changed since it says it has been shipped on Monday Jan. 17th via USPS!!
I politely asked how the item could be shipped due to the fact that Monday was a Federal holiday! Her response was just that it says the item has been shipped and can't be changed.
it will now take me longer to get the item but i guess there's nothing to do about that. shipped on Monday, MLK day! totally ridiculous!

runner, more than likely they had already boxed the order, pre-printed the label, and paid for the USPS shipping electronically... all that was left was waiting for USPS carrier pickup the next day @ the warehouse
even though USPS had the day off, BestBuy didn't...
I'll give their shipping department a huge thumbs up for being so quick (and going through with the orders) actually

Anybody else order Meaning of Life for in-store pickup? I went to pick up my Rudy, Footloose, and Meaning of Life, and for some reason, I only got charged $2.50 (plus tax on $2.50) for it. When I look at my main "order status" page, the order total is the same as it was when I ordered, but when I view the order details, the total cost is lower by that $5 difference (plus tax).
So, I have my Rudy (with bonus soundtrack), Footloose CE (which, the one they pulled for me had come loose, so I swapped it out for one that didn't rattle), and my Meaning of Life, and the total was like $18-something for those 3.
My "Any Given Sunday" (with director's commentary) has postal tracking info (and I got an actual email about it being shipped), and my Jerry Maguire and Showgirls boxset say "shipped", but don't have the tracking info yet.
Traffic still "backordered". But no big. If it gets cancelled, I'm not concerned. I only bought it because it included the Soderbergh, et al commentaries. I didn't find the film as engaging as I thought it was going to be.
That being said, despite my store not having a Showgirls Boxset for me to buy online Sunday, there were two of the boxsets there when I was picking up. Since it was already being shipped, I knew there wasn't a thing to do about it, and honestly, the $1.25 doesn't bother me, as the whole thing will be about $9 with tax and everything. The problem becomes how I can keep this obtrusively tacky box without it bothering my wife, or noticing that one day it's just "missing" on a trash day.

I had 2 orders. The first had Showgirls and Traffic. The second had Hoosiers, Stand By Me, and Sleepy Hollow. First order total $18.25. Second order total $27.38. Best Buy says Showgirls and Sleepy Hollow have shipped. I check my credit card and I have 4 temp charges, 2 for $9.12, 1 for $9.13, and one for $18.26. Does this mean I will get in on all of them? It seems like it to me. I hope so anyway, along with everyone else who got in on it.

I have a pending charge on my CC for 150% of my order total. Half of the order (Rudy, Jerry Maguire) has shipped, the remaining (Traffic, A Knight's Tale) is backordered. Weird billing.
