Damn, I never come across gems like that.

Well, on second though, I guess I have. Although I've never come across boxsets in BBV PVD sale, I have come across 2 criterions -- The Rock, and Straw Dogs -- in a 2-for-$20 sale.

Good stuff, though.

I don't know how many of you guys are into anime (or maybe hentai), but there's a BBV (probably the 3d closest to me) that has a shitload of traded-in anime on dvd. I remember seeing a grip of them when I went in to this particular BBV looking to see if they had the 3-disc version of the Terminal. I had planned on buying it with my credit.

When I saw those shelves filled with anime, I had remorsed the fact fact that I wasn't a big anime fan. Otherwise, that would've been a goldmine for me.

Went to a different BBV and picked up:

Carnival of Souls - Criterion Collection (1962)
The Royal Tenenbaums - Criterion Collection) (2001)
Bon Jovi - Live From London

I went looking for Spiderman 2 WS and meet with no luck. My local BB has 117 copies on the shelf and said it wasn't even on the pull list for next week. Besides S2, I saw Cronicles that I would have grabbed and a copy of Scooby2 for the kids.

My BB doesn't even have trade-ins, is there a list of the stores that do it somewhere?

Unfortunately, far from you.

It's the one in Valencia, on Mc Bean Pkwy.

But, I'd rather be where you live right now celebrating each Charger victory at the Q, or at Seau's for away games.

thanks for the info. i have only been in 1 store here that has had anime in the PVT section(Mira Mesa). Was hoping more in this area carried a bigger selection of anime.

Not into sports, so it doesn't bother me if the chargers win or lose....... That would cut into my dvd viewing time.

Ok, imagine some manga or hentai chicks, scantily clad, playing in the Mud Wrestling World Cup. Sports?

If you want, email me a list of anime titles you're looking for and I'll keep a copy at work to look over anytime I come across them as my store is like a community whore for anime titles.

thanks for the offer, but I don't really have a list of what I am looking for. I tend to read the back of the box or info about the title and make my decision upon that. If I can get to the point where I can make a list of every anime title that interests us, I will let you know.
I actually shouldn't be buying dvds right now either due to my Christmas bills. I was standing in front of a blockbuster today and my gf wouldn't let me go in. she is helping with that willpower I don't have. I need a 12 step program!

ok, i will admit there may be some sports that might be worth watching at least once. don't know if I could go for hentai chicks in mud wrestling though. usually the quality of hentai is below par (on the few I have seen).

There is a store by me (North of Atanta) that has over 100 traded in Anime, multidisk, everthing. Couldn't tell you one from the other. They all look the same.

Had a hunch to stop by a BBV by my parents while visiting them for Xmas. Snagged:

Hidalgo
Jabberwocky
Band of Outsiders: Criterion

People around there must be idiots because I found another Criterion used there during another one of their promotions.

I went to my local Blockbuster, and saw nothing there, until, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted "Blues Brother's Collector's Edition" for 12.99 used. HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!! I picked it up along with Antoine Fisher and The Pianist. Boy, who got ripped off with this one.

I already know without knowing that he actually meant "Before Sunset." After the Sunset isn't even out on DVD yet. Its theatrical release was Nov 2004.

Geez

My blockbuster is either really popular with rentals or really slow.

No Chronicles, Bourne, or Spiderman 2 =/

Which store you talking about? I'm in Kennesaw and frequent the ones on 41 and also the one over on Roswell Road and never find much of anything special.

No Spiderman 2 or Bourne Supremacy at the one I was at today, but they did have Before Sunset and Elf out already.

Are there bootleg copies of Carnival of Souls going around or something? I think this was the fifth time or so somebody has mentioned getting this used at Blockbuster. It's odd enough to find a criterion, but just one particular title popping up all around the nation makes me suspicious.
