Blockbuster Video - 3 for $25 again

Yeah, nothing real special, but saw an ad at BBV that said the 3 for $25 on PVD was going to start on 12/14. So hold out until then if you were planning on using some of your credit on PVD's.

News I was hoping for, took 9 disc by yesterday, but it was 2 for 20 so I just took my $45 and went home empty handed (well not really, I had already been to Hastings and scored 8 DVDs).

Cool beans...I might pick up Day After Tomorrow and some other not available at Columbia House movies then. Also thinking of getting the Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison set with my credit since its not that much cheaper anywhere else (I think its $24.99 at BBV).

Any chance they will have another minimum $8 on trade in in the near future?

contra - just wanted to let you know, i did see the billy madison / happy gilmore thing for 15.87 at WalMart here in IL yesterday. i don't know if that helps, but it is 8 bucks less than blockbuster.

i was going to get 24 season 3 with my credit, but they wanted 60 for it there!!! i got it for 40 at best buy.

It's for sure. Starts tomorrow. My BBVs are very slow to get movies on the shelf though. Still no Van Helsing, no Riddick, etc. .

Any BBV employees know when that supposed new pricing structure is going into effect? There was a thread a while back saying everything would be cut to $4.99 and $6.99

Just to reconfirm, I went in to a different BBV than the one I had originally seen the sign posted at and bought for 3 for $25:
Shrek 2
Van Helsing
The Day After Tomorrow

Because when a similar sale was announced on this board around Thanksgiving, some regions had it, others didn't.

Maybe you could ask the Blockbusters near me to put up the signs, then. Not happening here.

It's working in Bergen County NJ. I'll check NYC tomorrow when I go back to my apt.

I picked up all mint, Reno 911 Season 1 (Someone traded it in), Holes, and Tupac Resurrection

It's going on at 2 branches I visited today. And they have FINALLY put out the DVDs I traded in about a month ago. I like how they give me $5.00 credit and try to sell it for $14.99.

Yeah, I want to meet the person who spends $14.99 on the previously viewed copy of Spies Like Us.

Stopped by the store in Vernon Hills, sale was on but none of the usual signage was in the window. Picked up Girl Next Door, Shattered Glass, and the only copy of Shrek 2 I could find.

No Elf, Spiderman 2 or Bourne Supremacy yet.

Pretty funny seeing all the crap everyone traded in still sitting on the shelves.

Confirmed here in Orange County. Picked up Predator Collector's Edition, Armageddon Criterion Collection and The Seven Samurai Criterion Collection. Funny, the two Criterions were placed in the "New" section, but were clearly opened with no "sale" tags. The clerk opened up the security casing, saw that it was unwrapped, and said, "looks used to me," when the sets were actually brand new without the wrapping. I love BBV!

So how do the used discs look at BBV? Are these old scratched-to-hell rental copies or one's from trade-in?

Just curious, for those areas where they haven't put up the signs, have you actually tried to have them scan the DVDs? I would be surprised if 3/25 doesn't ring up. I thought BBVs sales are normally national.
