I went to Suncoast to pick this up and they were sold out. The clerk ordered me a copy for the $29.99. I am hopeful that it is the 5-disc version, but the clerk couldn't confirm that. He said it would take 2 weeks and that if it wasn't the right version I could get my $5 deposit refunded or use it on something else in the store. I'll post an update when it arrives...

I'm planning on checking the South Hill mall (Puyallup) tomorrow. I'll let you know. Didn't they close the one in the SeaTac mall? I'll call that one tomorrow to see if it's still open since that's actually closer.

Per jetjaguar69's advice, I picked up the copy at Bellevue Square. I'm not familiar with the Puyallup or Seatac areas, but Suncoast and Sam Goody both have storefinders on their websites.

I know it's probably big hassle, but again, if anyone can pick a copy up for me...I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd pay by whatever method you prefer. Thanks again.

Bingo here as well! I got it at the Orland Park, Illinois branch in Orland Mall. They had two more.

Well, rbf... in all fairness, they did sticker it improperly and probably had it listed incorrectly in teh computer too.

Only copy I saw cine...you in the area? As for the computer issue, I'm sure it had to have had some listing for Fanny and Alexander, whether it be the 5 or 2 disc, they said they didn't have it. Not to mention, I said it was a box set, and I found it in the "Box Set" section, so they clearly didn't bother looking very hard, if at all.

Well, then there are apparently different setups for Suncoasts...unless you got yours at Mediaplay? There was no foreign section, but there was a boxset section.

Yes, I am.

Has anyone tried and had any luck at a SamGoody?

There weren't any on the shelf at the Sam Goody near me. I tried to special order a copy, but they quoted the $60 price. Suncoast, however, let me special order a copy for $30.

I'm hoping they still got this there, do you know what section it was in? Drama, Foreign, Boxsets?

Found one at Suncoast in Pleasant Hill for $29.99. It was in the boxset section. Thanks OP!

Skunked in Atlanta

No luck at the Marietta Media Play (went and looked for myself). When he looked it up in the computer it only pulled up one version which was priced at $29.99. It didn't give details, but I'm fairly certain it was refering to the correctly-priced 3-disc version.

Just called the closest Suncoast, which is way out at Mall of Georgia, and he said he didn't have any. I asked how much the five-disc version was if I wanted to order a copy and he said $59.99, so they may have corrected the error in their system.

Thanks for the headsup on this. I picked one up at Suncoast today- they had one copy on the box set shelf & one in the 'foreign' section. Marked $29.99- rung up just fine. Nice!

(P.S. rbf1138, are you still looking for one? I'm not sure, after tax, shipping and PayPal fee, if you'd really save too much- DVDPlanet has it for $39 shipped- but I can probably pick one up if you like)

I just checked the only Suncoast and Sam Goody in my area, and neither of them had Fanny and Alexander.

Suncoast said they only found one Fanny and Alexander in the computer. It was $29.99 but it didn't mention the number of discs.

Sam Goody found both in their computer but they were correctly priced.

I ordered a copy of Fanny & Alexander from Suncoast on 10-29 and I picked it up today. It was the 5-disc Criterion (spine #261) and it was $29.99. When I ordered it the clerk told me he didn't know which version it was but that it was the only one they had in their computer. He also said that when it arrived if it was not the one that I wanted they would refund my $5 deposit. So, if you want it I would say order it because it worked great for me.
